  1. [22:52] Katrin says, "Just uh...just tired. Not feelin' so good."
  2. [22:52] Katrin says, "S'all."
  3. [22:52] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Ah..."
  4. [22:52] Kalon Ivanovich says, "It... Gets better."
  5. [22:52] Katrin says, "The work. Y'know..."
  6. [22:52] Katrin asks, "Yeah...?"
  7. [22:52] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Or well, it should."
  8. [22:52] Katrin says, "Think ya said that last time."
  9. [22:53] Kalon Ivanovich says, "That certainly sounds like something I'd say."
  10. [22:54] Kalon Ivanovich exclaims, "But!"
  11. [22:54] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Hm. Something came to mind, but I've already forgotten it."
  12. [22:54] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Whoops."
  13. [22:55] Katrin says, "S'fine. S'fine."
  14. [22:55] Kalon Ivanovich asks, "Want some tea?"
  15. [22:55] Kalon Ivanovich asks, "Or anything else to help?"
  16. [22:55] Katrin pauses, as if to let her brain labor over considering this very simple offer. Got to clear the cobwebs out of the attic.
  17. (Katrin)
  18. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19.
  20. [22:56] Katrin says, "...Tea. I uh. Tea's nice. Don't think you'd be up for offerin' what I need."
  21. [22:56] Kalon Ivanovich says, "You'd be surprised."
  22. [22:56] Kalon Ivanovich says, "But, tea will have to suffice for now."
  23. [22:57] Rosemarin Loire says, "Hello, Kalon."
  24. [22:57] Kalon Ivanovich asks, "Rosemarin! How are you?"
  25. [22:57] Rosemarin Loire says, "I am fantastic."
  26. [22:57] Rosemarin Loire says, "I cannot tarry, however."
  27. [22:57] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Wonderful."
  28. [22:57] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Fair, fair."
  29. [22:57] Rosemarin Loire says, "Farewell."
  30. [22:57] Kalon Ivanovich says, "Take care."
  31. [22:58] Kalon struts on into the backroom of the nightclub, and after a few brief moments of fiddling around with something he returns with a cup of tea in hand.
  32.
  33. "This is something I used to drink when I was suffering through withdrawal. It doesn't help. At all, but it certainly made me feel better."
  34. (Kalon Ivanovich)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [22:59] {Item} You picked up Garden Tea. Dropped by Kalon Ivanovich..
  38. [23:02] Katrin slumps herself at the counter. No bounce, no sparkle, no strut. She slumps and practically melts herself against the bartop. The cold surface is, somehow, warm by comparison to the rest of her.
  39.
  40. She glances up at Kalon, gives something like a nod of appreciation, and pulls the cup towards her to drink it without lifting her head too far up.
  41.
  42. Even in her withdrawals she looks around for any extra ears that might be listening. Not that the majority of Francesca's people had ever been terribly subtle. Save for a few.
  43.
  44. "...You're like Adrian. Right?"
  45. (Katrin)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [23:02] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  49. [23:07] "Yes."
  50.
  51. There wasn't an ounce of hesitation from the man. He hadn't been hiding what he was for sometime now. Everyone on Esshar knew they were here, why bother hiding it?
  52.
  53. Yet, it's not like he'd go around screeching it out to the heavens, but if someone asked, more than likely he'd answer it rather truthfully.
  54.
  55. "Though I've only recently turned." The Vampire's right index finger moves to idly poke, and prod at his chin. "It's been two years." That sounded right to him.
  56.
  57. "Which is why I can tell you. The cravings will die down." The air magi moves around the counter, and towards one of the nearby comfortable seats, plopping himself down onto it.
  58.
  59. "Just give it a bit of time."
  60. (Kalon Ivanovich)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [23:11] He might've been a monster, by most definitions, but at least he was an honest one. No hesitation, no double-talk. Right to the core of it with a single word. If she didn't feel so empty, Katrin might've appreciated that fact more.
  64.
  65. Instead she starts to lift herself laboriously from the counter, to the seat across from Kalon, and melts into the armchair instead. At least there can be comfort in her misery.
  66.
  67. "I did notice. When your eyes changed, y'know," she comments thickly, sipping the cup of tea. "Figure you'd know then. And you ain't lied to me yet."
  68.
  69. "Liked the silver." A comment given unprompted.
  70. (Katrin)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [23:17] Augustus Vorenii exclaims, "Hngh!"
  74. [23:18] "I did too."
  75.
  76. The man folds his arms across his chest, as he momentarily rubbed his eyes. While he'd certainly miss his silver eyes, the crimson ones were... Well, they were what he'd always desired.
  77.
  78. What he worked his ass off for so long for.
  79.
  80. "It'll be horrible for a bit, and then it'll get better. You just need time to... Stabilize?" His head tilts to the side, pondering his word choice, before shrugging. "Yeah, that's probably accurate.'
  81.
  82. The man slowly turns to squint at the two weirdos who waltzed into his nightclub.
  83.
  84. "Hel-" And they're gone. "...Well okay then."
  85.
  86. He sighs.
  87.
  88. "You're strong. You'll make it through it."
  89. (Kalon Ivanovich)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [23:23] "Hope you're right...It...It start out so good," she mutters, slouching forward and scratching under her scarf. It still hadn't healed. Why wasn't it healing? If she weren't so empty she might've cared more to ask these kinds of questions.
  93.
  94. "Better than anything I've ever felt. Ever. Now it's just..."
  95.
  96. Katrin gestures vaguely to her situation. Her head barely turns to register new arrivals, but they're gone before she can do more than catch them at the edge of her vision.
  97.
  98. "Yeah, yeah...Pulled myself up by my boot straps before. Guess this is just. The next thing.
  99.
  100. ...Thanks. For the tea. And the talk. Only talk I've been gettin' is business and dumb fuckin' kids talkin' shit about my work."
  101. (Katrin)
  102. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  103.
  104. [23:29] "I'm aware. Very aware."
  105.
  106. He'd been a thrall for the majority of his childhood, and a ghoul for even longer! If anyone could understand what Katrin was going through. It was him. Or Valerian.
  107.
  108. Either one of them, really.
  109.
  110. "Think of it this way. All of the suffering you're going through right now, will only make the next hit better, right?" It was flawed logic, but it was something. Which has to count for something, right?
  111.
  112. Maybe?
  113.
  114. Probably not.
  115.
  116. "And yes. I still owe you... two things?" His head tilts to the side, before shrugging. "I think it was two. Some tea, and a chat was the least I could do."
  117. (Kalon Ivanovich)
  118. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  119.
  120. [23:33] At least there was a sense of unexpected empathy there. Katrin sips her tea and drags her hand down her face.
  121.
  122. "Yeah, I...I guess that's one way to look at it." A thought maybe to keep her going when nothing else, except for the occasional thought of violence, really did anything for her. Not even her beloved craft; even that had become just another mechanical habit.
  123.
  124. "You got...you got blood like Adrian's. Right?"
  125.
  126. She had to ask. The curse of an addict, seeking another hit. Katrin peers at him groggily over the edge of her hand.
  127. (Katrin)
  128. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  129.
  130. [23:39] Their question was one he should have expected, but alas, he didn't. It's unfortunate, but- Oh well.
  131.
  132. It's his fault for not expecting it.
  133.
  134. "Obviously not." He teases. "Why would I, Kalon Ivanovich, have the same sort of blood as my sire, Adrian Ivanovich." His lips curl into a wry smirk, as he leaned back in his seat, humming to himself as he does so.
  135.
  136. Vibing.
  137.
  138. "But yes. I do. Why? Would you like some? Fair warning. It'll leave me in a worst state than you're in right now, but... Given your cravings. I doubt you'll care."
  139.
  140. He shrugs.
  141.
  142. "And I do owe you one, or two things. SO the choice is yours."
  143. (Kalon Ivanovich)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [23:45] And there he is. Smug, cheeky, and just hoarding all that blood to himself. How dare he?
  147.
  148. As soon as he offers there's a glint in her eye, a gleam, like there hasn't been in-how long? She'd stopped counting. The artificer licks her chops and leans forward, forgetting her cup of tea.
  149.
  150. Her jaw clenches. She leans back.
  151.
  152. "Nah. Nah. I can...
  153.
  154. Wait." She says the word like her tongue's made of lead. Like it's the hardest thing to say. Oh, but she wants it. Of course she does.
  155. (Katrin)
  156. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  157.
  158. [23:56] "I'm doubtful."
  159.
  160. He'd mutter, as he pulled a dagger out from his bag, and carefully sets it on the table.
  161.
  162. "I know that look. I've had it myself. So if you want to feed." Crimson hues stare across the table at the woman. "Then do so. You need only ask."
  163.
  164. "If not, it's fine."
  165.
  166. One last offer would be given. It was the least he could do.
  167.
  168. The smug grin of his would shift into a far more genuine smile, as he casually leaned further back into his seat. There's a few other things he could say, or do here, but he doesn't.
  169.
  170. Instead, he simply watches.
  171.
  172. And waits.
  173. (Kalon Ivanovich)
