RULES:
6
- No damage of any kind
7
- No deaths
8
- Single segment, no longer than 15 minutes of break
9-
- No content skips or major glitches. No zips. No pressing pause to allow enemy projectiles to phase through (notably Boobeam)
9+
- No content skips or major glitches. No zips. MM7 has some zips but they aren't very impactful.
10-
- Pausing allowed for all weapon swaps. Good faith rule for not abusing pauses for avoiding hits. Swapping weapons as part of the strategy is perfectly reasonable
10+
- No boss skips (using Noise Crush to instantly defeat Spring/Turbo)
11
- Minimal pausing allowed, mostly to switch to Rush Coil/Jet

A fairly casual route. The goal is to fight Air Man as fast as possible, since it's one of the hardest parts. In order to fight Air Man, we need Item-1 (Heat) and Leaf Shield (Wood). In order to beat Wood, we need Time Stopper for the Wood Man miniboss (Flash) and Atomic Fire (Heat). Metal Blade is generally useful and Bubble Man is a challenging fight, and his weapon helps fight Heat Man, so those are done early
13+
14
It's the speedrun route for the first four (Cloud -> Junk -> Freeze -> Burst). After Museum mid-stage, Slash Man is fought first, as he's the biggest threat in the game. Then weakness order.
15-
1 - Metal Man: First screen is rough but easily reset-able
15+
16-
2 - Flash Man: Flash Man's stage & fight much safer with Metal Blade
16+
1 - Cloud Man: OK
17-
3 - Bubble Man: Bubble Man's fight is one of the harder fights (3 bubble pattern)
17+
2 - Junk Man: OK
18-
4 - Heat Man
18+
3 - Freeze Man: Challenging fight, but is mostly the same every time
19-
5 - Wood Man
19+
4 - Burst Man: His fight is not particularly hard, but it is precise
20-
6 - Air Man: Hardest Robot Master due to 2 patterns, but is sometimes easy
20+
5 - Slash Man: Hardest fight in the game, has random goop that is hard to navigate. King Gojulus (miniboss) is also difficult
21-
7 - Crash Man
21+
6 - Spring Man: OK
22-
8 - Quick Man: Also a hard fight, but taking advantage of his block state and menu swapping makes work of him
22+
7 - Shade Man: OK
23
8 - Turbo Man: OK
24
25-
Wily 1 - Not a huge threat
25+
26-
Wily 2 - Leaf Shield hallway can be rough if item drops coincide with Mole spawns
26+
Wily 1 - Forte 1 fight is consistent, but definitely an execution barrier. Rest of stage is fine
27-
Wily 3 - Guts Tank isn't really safe (with my mediocre mashing ability)
27+
Wily 2 - 'Need to be patient' stage. Forte 2 is also consistent but you gotta keep it together.
28-
Wily 4 - Boobeam without abusing the pause strategy is challenging but it really is just the first dodge that is tough. Must save 1 Clash for Wily 5
28+
Wily 3 - OK
29-
Wily 5 - Refights, very hard
29+
Wily 4 - Hardest stage, refights. Final boss is definitely hard, but the Slash Man -> Freeze Man combo right at the start is a very hard part too. Capsule Wily is just a very nerve wracking fight at the end of the whole run.
30-
Wily 6 - Don't choke
