Derrick had been a teacher on the same school trip as Murakami of ‘Chronos’, but unlike Murakami, he didn't mind being called "sensei." He also didn't treat former students as students. However, he’s someone who had approached other reincarnators with the same enthusiasm as he had on Earth.

He would take care of others if they relied on him, and if someone tried to keep their distance, he would meddle in their affairs while maintaining that distance. According to Banda, he was someone who had a good sense of boundaries, an "Asagi who can grasp the distance."

Even now, he continued to speak harshly to Joseph, but that’s because he had been serving as an instructor for the military, police, and rescue teams and so on ever since he became a part of the ‘Bravers’. "Yeah, absolutely," Youdo added.

Both Nanamori and Youdo were students from a different class than Vandalieu on Earth. Like Joseph, they had also encountered Vandalieu in their dreams.

Nanamori was dealing with stress, though not as much as Joseph, and contemplated retiring from the ‘Bravers’. Youdo was successfully completing missions, but in his private life, he was plagued by suicidal thoughts.

After receiving soul fragments from Vandalieu when they met him in their dreams, they became friends with Joseph and the others after being guided, and began serving as guards for Mei and Hiroshi.

"The selection of these people is strange," Joseph remarked.

And that was all they had in common. Their cheat abilities, the tendencies of the missions they had completed up till this point, and even their individual skills and knowledge were all different.

Joseph's ‘Druid’ is an ability that allows him to manipulate plants. Nanamori Misato's ‘Asclepius’ is an ability that doubles the potency of the effects of healing magic. And Youdo Masaki's ‘Sandman’ is an ability that puts living things to sleep and renders them unable to act.

Nanamori's ‘Asclepius’, coupled with her own skill in magic, could heal fatal wounds if there was even one percent chance of survival. However, it wouldn't restore one to perfect condition without any injuries.

Youdo's ‘Sandman’ could render targets unable to move within a radius of about a hundred meters, as long as there were no obstacles between him and the target. It works on humans, plants, animals, and even bacteria and viruses invisible to the naked eye.

Joseph, Nanamori, and Youdo all have abilities that are not particularly suited for combat. While they may be called upon for certain missions sometimes, it was a rare occurrence.

"It didn't fail; I made it fail. With my ‘Sandman’, I 'put to sleep' the gunpowder and chemical fuels inside the missle," Youdo explained.

As Youdo said that, outside the transport plane, the missile that had been made to fail by his ability was falling into the sea.

"What!? Wasn't your ability ineffective against inanimate objects!?"

"It was, until I became a babysitter. I can stop the missile from exploding as it is within the range of my ability since it's coming towards us. Though, even if I can stop the explosion, I can't stop the collision due to the law of inertia," Youdo elaborated.

"And then, I repaired the damaged transport plane with my magic that had double the effect using my ‘Asclepius’. By the way, my ability changed as well after becoming a babysitter," Nanamori explained.

Derrick stared at Youdo and Nanamori with wide eyes after hearing what they said. He had known that the reincarnators had the potential to grow. The mold spores were made by Mei, who was learning death-attribute magic from Banda. The raw material was just ordinary black mold.

"Yes. If it's part of Ulrika, Joseph, Youdo, and Nanamori's abilities... Ulrika, can I call you 'my master' for now?"

Banda had no doubts about both Hiroshi and Mei’s love for their mother. It was a very healthy thing. As his purpose was the happiness of Hiroshi and Mei, a harmonious family was something that he welcomed.
