FB Poem

The evening sky quivered
in the blaze of light
that emanated from the dying sun
Where the great orb
of age old renown
A glory of burnished copper
Scorched the remains of day
that loitered aloft
Veiled in the hue of regret and sorrow
at the demise of daylight
extinguished in a moment
and without reprieve
Like the fragile flame
of a candle a'flicker
in the gentle breeze of dusk
As it sped the dying embers of evening
to'ard another dominion
Amid the shimmering heavens
abounding in hues of lilac and salmon pink
Where the endless celestial infinity
yields to a dusky mauve
As the empyrean firmament
assumes the cloak of shadows adrift
That abide in indigo dreams
a'roam in a realm of a silent midnight
of velvet darkness
And pervade the corridors
which lead to the enigma of eternity
