This is serious, but along the way of writing it, I turned it into a joke

  1. god, even if something is good. I don't see the ethical reasoning in doing the meme killing maneuver of murdering as many conversations as possible related to a thing, by being so tactless as to:
  2.
  3. >Get into something that is already exhaustingly popular
  4. >flood every conversation with details of popular thing
  5. >not recognize that popularity of said thing is going to be a bit much for other people
  6. >Double down when someone says "I'm kind of getting sick of Good Thing. It's everywhere."
  7. >turning it into a personal personal attack when there was nothing personal about it in the first place
  8.
  9. The closest personal equivalent of fanaticism I can think of for myself is Castlevania (or Borderlands, and I'm at least not twisting my spine into the ceiling trying to wax poetic 'on MAIN' about how neat and cool it is that they made a series about Villains and Criminals fighting villains and Criminals interesting and fun. Because in the end that's what it is, Borderlands solved the problem of Cognitive Dissonance and nobody recognizes that - note to self, video essay idea- ), and all I really do is just Collect Castlevania 'stuff' so that I can preserve it. If someone were to ask me "why do you have a Hard Drive locked in a safe labeled 'Death's Gambit against Humankind'? what's in that?" that'd be a neat conversation starter. I'd get to talk about how much I like the series. Maybe I'll slip in a joke about how I'm basically Julius Belmont irl.
  10. But I'm not going to have a 'normal' perfectly fine Conversation about Mirror of Fate, or Bloodstained, and then link my own tweets, post a bunch of memes like some kind of 'shill', while being like
  11. :whip emoji: "Nothing you can say will stop me! Die Monster!"
  12. it's not even a case of something like
  13. "I want future Generations to remember this"
  14. what future Generations? I just like Castlevania, I'm preserving it for ME.
  15. Kojima isn't out here tweeting at fuckers about 1984, like "Hey, y'know. George Orwell? he basically wrote the Gatchaman of that Generation"
  16. he just went and made 1984 the game.
  17. There's also no clear reasoning as to why you'd even deliberately perpetuate a meme, thats the opposite of what you'd want to do, unless you're playing some sick game of Long Term Double Agent, wherein you're literally personally guaranteeing the death of an idea as you Shepard it into the zeitgeist and then forcefully hold it over the collective consciousness of those around you. That's not how the human spirit works. You can try to be like "I've rejected my Humanity, Jojo" all you want - but you're still human, even if you were to roboCop/Raiden yourself.
  18. Memes won't take you back to Square One. :DOH!:
  19.
  20. You also escalated the conversation so far beyond it's necessary tipping point that if I were to try and go back and comment on 'NEW' things that I have opinions about like that GGMay Mario64 Source Mod(wow), or Star Fetchers(This is what we need to be shopping around and telling people about, which I have been for the last year, just not here.) I would be potentially at risk of being perceived of stepping over your thing and what you're about, in favor of something outside of "the conversation" -
  21. Gee Julian, why would you do that, why are you so mean? We're not even talking about May64 Right now, you fuck. that's what you engender when you behave like this. Also, you hypocrite - have you even played the Star Fetchers prologue? Miss "I like Swords",
  22. yeah uh-huh, sure - you like Swords huh? You like slicing things up?
  23. I don't believe you. You haven't even played the Star Fetchers Prologue. or maybe don't, I'd rather not have the meme of Killing Doghead be ruined.
