  20. personality:
  21. (This sucks man, I’m sorry.)
  22. THE FIRST WORDS that come to mind when people think of Jayden Do are “clingy” and “annoyingly cute”. All throughout his childhood, he’d always wanted siblings or friends he could get close to so he always clings to his group members because, to him, they’re both. He trusts them and cherishes them, clinging to them so they won’t leave or abandon him like his father and birth-giver did. While his clinging, both physical and non-physical, can get to be annoying, it’s not that easy to tell him to knock it off since it’s easy to see he just absolutely adores his hyungs, even if they yell and get angry at him. His large, doe eyes, bright smile, and pretty face are a deadly combination. He’s just so...cute. It’s really unfair considering his puppy dog eyes have even the coldest of people melting at his feet, eager to please the pretty boy to rid his features of such a pitiful expression.
  23. JAYDEN IS A pretty emotional boy but, in addition to that, he’s sensitive. He’s never taken well to people yelling, or just generally being any form of upset, at him and his eyes will instantly well up with tears whenever someone does so. He absolutely hates it when the people he trusts and loves are upset with him and he will do anything he can to make them happy, this leading to self-destructive tendencies. He’s definitely a people pleaser and will attempt push himself past his own limitations to make those around him happy with him. While the eager-to-please aspect of his personality is very much present and obvious, Jayden is not a pushover nor is he gullible. He’s not some naive child, despite how much he acts like it for attention, and knows when people are trying to use him and will flat out refuse to do something when he feels used or like someone’s trying to fool him. He’s not big on the whole “i’m older so you have to respect me” thing since he grew up in America so it’s not rare that he be, as the fans say, savage with his hyungs. He does use honorifics though they usually come out in his usual sarcastic yet innocently lilting tone that normally pisses off his group members. He truly has no filter on his mouth and his curious and observant thoughts more often than not slip out in the form of sarcasm or sass.
  24. DON’T LET JAYDEN’S cute behavior, innocent gaze, and sassy yet cute words fool you. He’s painfully insecure about himself thanks to what he experienced during his less-than-ideal childhood in New York. He rarely changes in front of anyone and, when he does so with his group members, he turns away so he’s not facing anyone. While it’s been years since what happened in New York, he’s still terribly disgusted with himself and scarred mentally and emotionally. He lacks self-confidence, though he’s gotten so good at faking it that most people wouldn’t be able to tell, and is always overworking himself to try to keep up with his older, more experienced, and more talented group members. He doesn’t want to be left behind progress-wise and he doesn’t want to be the weak link in the group. He’s an extremely kindhearted boy despite what he’s been through and, when he cares for someone, he cares deeply. He really just wants to fit in somewhere and be accepted for who he is and be able to let people he loves and trusts past the walls built up from his childhood.
  25.
  26. backstory:
  27. JAYDEN DO WAS born and raised in the well-known and bustling New York City. While this would’ve been the ultimate dream to most, it was and still is his worst nightmare. He wants nothing more than forget what he was put through.
  28. JAYDEN’S MOTHER, A woman by the name of Cherise Lee-Harroway, who he never knew, became pregnant with him after having a short-lived affair with his father. Cherise’s husband, David Harroway, was constantly away on business and she decidedly filled the void with Vincent Do, her husband’s business partner. She wasn’t too concerned about her husband being around or noticing that she was pregnant but she was sure he’d notice a baby that certainly wasn’t only half-Korean. Her solution to this problem? Leave the kid on the baby daddy’s door with threats to ruin his career if he were to try to return the baby to her or tell her husband. With no other option and a small amount of sympathy for the child, Vincent Do took in the newborn baby, albeit reluctantly.
  29. FROM AN OUTSIDE view, Jayden grew up in the comfort of money. With his dad’s well-paying job, he had everything he could ever want handed to him on a silver platter; he was spoiled and adored and, overall, he was happy. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Jayden was, more often than not, alone in his father’s condo all throughout his childhood. The only times he ever saw his father were when the man was stumbling drunk through the hallway with some new woman that he’d never seen or in the mornings when the man himself was leaving for work with a hangover and bad temper. It was always a struggle for Jayden seeing as he wanted nothing more than to just talk to his dad and tell him about his day and his latest accomplishments. He was only ever ignored or snapped at but he could never bring himself to hate his dad. After all, he was the only real family he had.
  30. JAYDEN’S INTENSE DETERMINATION to make his father proud or at least gain his attention led to many situations a kid shouldn’t have had to be in. He’d gone to the point of walking alone through the pouring rain on the streets of New York City in the dead of night to get to the nearest drug store because his dad demanded something. Little did Jayden know, Vincent had noticed him and was aware of every little thing the kid did. Although, this awareness was not out of pride or appreciation; it was out of annoyance and dislike. In Vincent’s point of view, Jayden ruined his life, took away his “relationship” with the woman he loved and was nothing more than an extra, unwanted expense. Jayden was six, nearly seven, years old when Vincent reached his breaking point.
  31. VINCENT HAD FALLEN ill and taken a day or two off from work. Jayden instantly hopped on the opportunity to be as helpful as he could, fretting over his dad and constantly asking him if he was okay or if he needed anything. Vincent, growing annoyed with the kid, got up for himself and stumbled about the condo groggily to make himself food. He was part-way through preparing to make something simple when Jayden discovered he was up and about. The young boy was instantly trying to take things from his dad’s hands and help out, urging him to go back to bed and rest. His dad had enough and grabbed him by the back of his shirt and flung Jayden backwards and away from him, sending the kid sprawling with a thud onto the ground as he yelled profanities at him. Jayden was shocked, to the say the least, seeing as he’d never really been yelled at like that. Although he got back up, that was the last time he didn’t hesitate to get up and approach his father again. He moved more slowly this time and tried to gently get his dad back to bed but he was met with a negative response when he tried to take the knife from is father’s hand. The next thing Jayden knew, he was sprawled back onto the floor though he became hyperaware to the pain radiating from his cheek. His father hit him for the first of many times to come. It gradually became an expected response every time the boy even came close to his violence-prone father. Eventually, Jayden took to avoiding his dad altogether to protect himself from the man’s harsh, condescending words and malicious actions.
  32. AFTER THAT FIRST incident, Jayden became more and more aware of his father’s alcoholism, short temper, and constant flow of...special guests. There was new woman with his father almost every single night and it didn’t take much to figure out what each one was there for. For the most part, Jayden was left alone. He knew very well to just stay in his room and not leave until the morning. This routine of hiding in his room from his dad and guests continued until he was eight years old. The evening was like any other. Jayden was in the middle of eating the microwavable dinner he’d managed to find in the refrigerator when the door to the condo beeped open, the sound of it hitting the wall and the click of heels alerting the boy to his dad’s arrival along with the woman of the night. Jayden instantly hopped off of the couch and shoved the remainder of his food hastily into his mouth as he hurried to the kitchen. The last thing he wanted was to be seen by his drunk father. He threw away his trash and tossed the fork into the sink just as the sound of voices met his ears. Voices. That was unusual. He never heard voices, only the sounds of uncoordinated hands and sloppy, meaningless kisses. Stuck in his confusion, Jayden hadn’t realized that the voices were coming towards the kitchen. At the last second, he ducked down behind the kitchen island and hoped that they’d just pass through and not see him. Unfortunately, the surprisingly sober woman rounded the island and spotted Jayden crouched down and pressed against the cool marble. He looked up to her with his doe eyes filled with shock and shyness as he retreated into himself as he slowly stood up, looking smaller than he was. Being quite tall for his age, he was only a few inches shorter than the woman in heels who grinned softly at him though he didn’t miss how quickly she hid her surprise. He kept his gaze on her and only briefly glanced at his father, keeping it at nothing more than a glance out of fear, before quickly excusing himself and passing by the woman without touching her.
  33. TO JAYDEN’S SURPRISE, that was not the last time he saw that woman, who’s name he later learned was Jennifer Voss. As it turned out, she and his father had started dating and she eventually moved into the condo. The woman tried and tried to get close to Jayden, to get him to open up to her but he absolutely refused to do so. He wanted nothing to do with her nor his father considering the man’s habit of hitting him never ceased. One evening, during the summer before he turned nine, his dad and stepmom to be (the two had gotten engaged after only a few months) attended a gala they were invited to for his dad’s company. Jennifer, really taking her role as Jayden’s stepmom seriously, made him dinner before they left so he couldn’t help but to be thankful for the home-cooked meal though he was even more thankful that he could eat in peace; no dad, no stepmom. It was a relaxing night and he was more focused on watching the Friends reruns than he was on being worried when his dad and stepmom would get home. He eventually took himself to bed and fell asleep surprisingly peacefully, usually having a hard time doing so. Although, his peaceful sleep did not last long. He was woken up by the thud of the door opening to the condo, the noise followed by the crash of the decorative hallway table being knocked over. In his half-asleep state, he barely registered his door opening and his stepmother’s disheveled form standing in the doorway. Having kicked her heels off somewhere along the way to his room, she stood there with her previous perfectly curled hair a frizzy mess and her make-up smeared, her posture and expression riddled with lazy drunkenness, though he didn’t know that. He heard the woman slur something incoherently, just making a hum-like noise in response since he couldn’t understand her. He expected her to leave after that so he just closed his eyes and cuddled back into the warmth of his duvet. He wasn’t expecting the sudden weight on top of him along with the stench of alcohol that seemed to jolt him from sleepiness. Having been turned from his side to his back by the extra weight, Jayden made a tired noise of protest and stared up in confusion at Jennifer, the green-eyed woman staring back down at him with a look that was undecipherable to the young boy. More awake than he started out, he faintly heard her slur his dad’s name as her hands...touched him. Not the motherly touch he’d gotten far too used to than he should have but a forceful, revolting touch that he would grow to associate with any woman who even spoke to him. The next morning, she wasn’t there when he woke up feeling disgusting and used. He showered for at least an hour, scrubbing his skin raw to rid himself of his stepmother’s haunting touch, and only got out when his dad started banging on the bathroom door for him to get out.
  34. AFTER THAT NIGHT, Jayden avoided Jennifer at all costs until she finally cornered him to threaten him not to say anything. It’s not like he could anyways seeing as his dad wouldn’t believe him. He continued on with his life as best he could. His ninth birthday came and went and as well as his dad’s wedding. Although any kid would normally be thrilled by these life events, he was merely neutral. He couldn’t feel happy with his life or the people in it when he didn’t even like his life. Nothing more happened between Jennifer and him until a few weeks after the honeymoon between his dad and her. It almost the exact same situation except she wasn’t drunk and his dad was the only one who was gone. Helpless and further threatened, just as he was the first time, he had to endure what she put him through, the cries for help that she kept contained in his throat with her hand were shown through the tears streaming down his face past his clenched eyes. Although that day was nothing short of a nightmare, it was also the first time his dad held and comforted him. Luckily, Vincent Do had forgotten his wallet and had turned around to go back to the condo to retrieve it. When he walked in, he expected to see his son curled on the couch where he was when he left and his wife busy with dinner but, instead, he found the woman he’d married raping his nine-year-old son for the second time, though he wasn’t aware of that. He made quick work of ripping Jennifer away from Jayden, shoving her away angrily. The woman wasn’t expecting this so she was frozen in shock before she recovered and instantly tried to defend herself and her actions. Not wanting to hear it, he threw her clothes at her and demanded that she leave, the woman doing so with protest. He called the cops immediately after before scooping his sobbing son into his arms, who had hastily pulled on his clothes after she was removed from him. Jayden accepted the comfort his dad provided and clung to him desperately for security and reassurance, eventually crying himself to sleep.
  35. A YEAR PASSED since then and Jayden’s mental health plummeted past the point his ten-year-old mind shouldn’t have been past. Vincent had taken note of this. He’d become a lot more caring and fatherly than he had ever been before for the sake of his son and the guilt of how he’d treated him ate at him as well as the fact that Jayden clearly was unhappy. He searched endlessly for a solution and tried desperately to get him to talk to him about it but to no avail. Eventually coming to his wit’s end, Vincent contacted his sister in South Korea, thinking a change of scenery would help Jayden out seeing as the condo was more than likely not helping with Jayden’s recovery from that incident. After a long talk with Jayden, Vincent was soon sending off his only child to live with his sister, Do Bora, in Seoul.
  36. THE MOVE TO a completely different country would’ve been daunting to most but Jayden was admittedly excited. Seeing as Korean was his first language, his dad having done a good job at making sure it was the primary language spoken in their household, he was eager to be surrounded by his native language day after day. Although he was excited to be immersed in his culture, he was also extremely nervous seeing as he had no clue he had an aunt, two aunts and two uncles to be exact, and he had never been to South Korea. He was scared that he wouldn’t recognize the woman when he got to the airport considering he’d only seen pictures of her and had a grand total of two video chats with her before he left. Additionally, Jennifer (who had been sent to prison for her crimes) had made good on ruining his view of women. He despised those of the female gender and was more than uncomfortable around them. Don’t get him wrong, he’s not a misogynist. His despising of women is probably better summed up as a fear. He’s scared that he’ll once again be the target of another woman like Jennifer especially since he doesn’t know which women could be like that. Despite his dad’s reassurance that his Aunt Bora was extremely kind and would never hurt him, he was still uneasy.
  37. UPON ARRIVAL TO Seoul, South Korea, Jayden was overwhelmed. It was his second time ever being in an airport, the first being when he was leaving America, and he had no clue what to do. Luckily, his aunt had been prepared and had his name written in big letters on a poster. Jayden had to admit that the first time he saw his aunt, he thought she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. She looked at him with so much kindness and warmth that he couldn’t help but to trust her instantly. It helped that she was young, only being in her mid-twenties, and could relate to him better. Still, he was cautious though he eventually warmed up to her dumb jokes and graceful way of moving. She was, and still is, the only woman Jayden ever truly loved. Thanks to Bora, he was able to settle into his new lifestyle and slowly come out of his shell and come to terms with who he was and what he was capable of. He learned to move past what happened to him, though he’s still working on that to this day and is still very cautious of women. In Bora’s care, he was also able to discover and explore his singing talent. Not once in his life had he ever thought he could sing until, one night filled with junk food and laughter, he was suddenly bursting into song with Bora. He’ll never forget the look that overtook her features at the sound of voice. Not only was it a look of amazement but of pride and love. It was the first time he’d ever received such a look and he was glad it was from the one woman who he could refer to as a motherly figure in his life.
  38. FOUR YEARS CAME and went and life was good for Jayden and his Aunt Bora. He did well in school, had a grand total of two friends (most of his classmates found his behavior annoying and said he looked like a girl), and helped out his aunt in her flower shop that doubles as an art supply store. Seeing as his aunt was a young, single woman running her own store, she was short-handed on staff considering she couldn’t afford to pay more than one or two people so Jayden worked in the shop after school, refusing pay. Jayden’s life was fairly normal, in his opinion, and quite predictable. He knew what to expect each day and he quite liked it considering the things he’d been through back in New York. Although, the fourteen-year-old eventually found himself somewhere he never expected to be: an audition at an entertainment company. Bora had absolutely insisted on it but he refused numerous times since he didn’t want to leave her to work pretty much alone. One day, she decided to surprise him, picking him up from school and blindfolding him to keep their destination a surprise. The next thing he knew, he was being walked blindly into an air-conditioned place, assuming it was a building, before his blindfold was removed and his aunt handed him a sticker with a number on it. With a quick good luck, he was shoved into a dance studio filled with other people. He was too shocked to protest and absentmindedly went through the audition process. Although, when push came to shove, he was glad his Aunt Bora forced him into that audition because, a few weeks later, he was being informed of his advancement to the next stage of auditions. Four years later, he’s now preparing for his debut as Jade with Heartbreaker.

  40. any scandals?:
  41. PRE-DEBUT | He was seen with Kang Kyungjoon, of all people to be seen with in the company, going to a shadier part of Seoul that was known for its apparent illegal activity and tattoo parlors. Fans don’t know what exactly happened but they do know that he had his ears pierced the next time they saw him.
  42. PRE-DEBUT | Minor but rumors arose that Jayden was spotted at his aunt’s flower shop though that wasn’t the main topic. The main topic was the thigh-high socks he was wearing along with shorts, a choker, and a cutely designed sweater. Witnesses claimed he must’ve been cross-dressing but he was doing nothing of the sort, merely wearing what usually wears.
  43. POST-DEBUT | He seen with Kyungjoon, again, going to the same place though, this time, there was no visible difference the fans could point out so that has just lead to wild rumors on what went down. Little do they know, Kyungjoon had once been looped into a promise with Jayden that he’d take him to get another piercing when they debuted successfully. Kyungjoon didn’t know what piercing Jayden would get but he took him anyways, only to nearly shit himself when Jayden emerged with a bellybutton piercing.

  79. hobbies:
  80. JOURNALING | Jayden collects journals like nobodies business but he never wastes them. He decorates each and every one of them with different themes and uses each of them for different things. He has multiple for just about everything; some being for songwriting, others being for recipes, others being more like weekly planners.
  81. DANCING | Jayden may not be the best dancer to ever grace the earth but he dances like he is. He loves it dancing so much and does it constantly, often making little freestyle mini-choreographies when alone and listening to music. He is great at Just Dance though he often loses to his more talented group members but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy it any less.
  82. COLLECTING CANDLES | Jayden is all about smell-good items and candles are one of the easiest and cheapest items for him to collect. He loves that there’s so many of them in so many different scents, shapes, and sizes.
  83. COOKING | Jayden isn’t the best cook but he’s good at it and is gradually learning. To make it better, he loves it and is always eager to practice by making meals for his group.
  84. SKATEBOARDING | Jayden, due to his mental state from his childhood, has insomnia so it’s often he spends time at night skateboarding down the sidewalk. His aunt was terrified the first time she woke up to find him gone and told him not to do so anymore until she realized that he continued doing it and came back safe each time.
  85.
  86. habits:
  87. SLEEPING WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL | Ever since he was a kid, Jayden has always slept with the same stuffed animal thanks to his chronic loneliness. When he moved to Korea, this habit never changed and, to this day, he still sleeps with the same old plush dog (his name is PupPup) tucked against his chest.
  88. POPPING HIS FINGERS | Jayden doesn’t even remember when he started doing this but he just knows that he does it whenever he’s nervous or just preparing to do something.
  89. BOUNCING ON THE BALLS OF HIS FEET | Jayden physically cannot stay still so he bounces slightly on the balls of his feet whenever he’s been standing in one spot for too long.
  90. CHEWS ON HIS BOTTOM LIP | Whenever Jayden is upset, nervous, or deep in thought, his bottom lip is always latched between his teeth.

  113. on stage personality:
  114. On stage, Jayden is very versatile. By this, I mean that he can conform and adapt to any concept, any dance, or any stage effortlessly. He can, obviously, easily pull of softer concepts but he also can fit more powerful concepts as well. He seems much more mature when he’s performing and any first time viewers would never guess his true persona, though it becomes obvious once the music is no longer playing. To the surprised and exasperation of fans, Jayden does not have a very prominent stage presence by choice. He choose to just sync in with his group members and work to make them look better since he believes he lacks the skill and talent to be in the direct spotlight, often refusing center positions in the dance.
  115.
  116. off stage personality:
  117. Off stage, Jayden instantly reverts back to his bright and bubbly personality. He greets fans with a warm smile and gets flustered when they compliment the performance, always deflecting the praise to his group members instead. He becomes even more diligent with skinship and his clinginess and latches on one of his group members, usually PRETTY BOY or Kyungjoon. While it’s partially for fanservice, it’s mainly because of his fear of women and his want to have as much distance as possible between him and their female fans.

  120.
  121. trivia:
  122. - Jayden’s dislike for women is less of a dislike and more of a genuine fear brought on by his negative childhood experiences with women. He’s not misogynistic in any form of the term.
  123. - Jayden is not very tall at all but he’s not super short either, only standing at 172 cm (about 5’6”).
  124. - If Jayden has any say in it, his group wouldn’t ever go to KCON New York.
  125. - He literally wants a hamster more than anything else in the universe. He’s never been able to get one because of school and training.
  126. - He has severe anxiety and depression and regularly takes medication whenever it gets too bad. He refuses to take it daily, which would ultimately help prevent both, because he doesn’t want to become reliant on medication to help him through hard times.
  127. - He isn’t the most muscular boy, obviously, and still boasts some baby fat on his thighs and sides but he does work-out every now and then. His stomach and arms, despite his remaining and adorable baby fat, are lightly toned from his mini work-out sessions as well as from all the dancing he does.
  128. - He calls his Aunt Bora every single day to let her know how he’s doing and to tell her about his day. He tries to visit her whenever he gets the chance.
  129. - He has close bond with Kyungjoon because they first met before Jayden joined the entertainment company. It had maybe been two years since he’d moved to Korea and he was still adjusting and getting over his past. It was one of those nights when he was out skateboarding and he’d gone a little further than usual. He lost in his thoughts and feelings when he crashed into someone, scrambling to stand up and apologize profusely with a nervous stutter and teary eyes, not wanting to be yelled at. Turns out, it was Kyungjoon and he’d somehow made the older male melt instantly. For another year and a half, Kyungjoon was always there for Jayden’s nightly rides and always talked with him, finding out everything about the boy’s past and only vowing to protect him even more.
  130. - Jayden despises swimming with every fiber of his being. Yes, he knows how to swim but he hates it. He can’t stand when water gets in his nose or ears and hates how nasty his hair feels after getting out of the pool. He prefers to just lie on a float and sunbathe.
  131. - When his depression gets bad, he becomes extremely quiet and just cuddles up to someone without a word, just staying there and seeking comfort from his group members.
  132. - Jayden by no means crossdresses but he loves thigh-high socks. It’s just that they’re so fucking comfortable and plenty of people can agree that he looks a little too good in them, especially when paired when one of his oversized sweaters.
  133. - Jayden’s favorite part about himself is his thighs because they’re soft and squishy and he loves them.
  134. - He calls Kyungjoon “big bro/brother” or “Joon/Joonie-hyung” and always introduces him as such because, to him, that’s exactly what the older male is to him.
  135.
  136.
  137. requested scenes:
  138. - Jayden casually calling his love interest “oppa” without even thinking about it. Like, he does it but he doesn’t realize and just continues on as if he didn’t just give him a heart attack.
  139. - The group seeing him in his thigh-highs and a oversized sweater for the first time.
  140. - Angst time but Jayden’s depression reaches a low and he instantly seeks out one of the group members. The previous day, he’d gotten on some of the group members’ nerves and they’d been a bit mean and griped at him for it, leading to him feeling insecure about his place in the group and his relationship with them which then led to the depressive episode. Despite what happened, he still wanted the comfort and security of their presence. He finally finds some/all of the group in the living room and curls up with the first person he finds. The leader is instantly on him about it and rages about how he’s just so childish and annoying and he says some other stuff that’s really harsh and hits at each of Jayden’s insecurities. He never speaks much, if at all, during these depressive episodes so he just sits there blankly and takes it though, unbeknownst to him, silent tears just stream down his cheeks as his heart aches and increases the emptiness he already felt. When someone wipes at his cheeks, he’s jolted from his self-deprecating thoughts and back into reality, silently standing up and avoiding everyone’s gazes with a mumbled “sorry” as he disappears to his bed. Cue protective big brother Kyungjoon and yay.
