  1. Prepare session handoff now. Follow AGENTS.md, docs/DOCUMENTATION_POLICY.md, and docs/SESSION_START_GUIDE.md.
  2.
  3. Stop starting new implementation work. Actually update the repository’s living documents; do not provide only a chat summary.
  4.
  5. Inspect the current repository, Git state, and relevant changes, then:
  6. - Update docs/SESSION_HANDOFF.md with an accurate current snapshot.
  7. - Update TASKS.md and any affected technical documentation.
  8. - Add a dated session record under docs/sessions/.
  9. - Record significant decisions, findings, and resolved issues in the appropriate existing registers or ADRs.
  10.
  11. Record:
  12. - The session’s objective and what was completed.
  13. - Incomplete work, affected files, blockers, and known issues.
  14. - Decisions and their reasons, including rejected approaches when significant.
  15. - Checks actually run, their results, and anything untested.
  16. - Branch, HEAD, staged/unstaged/untracked changes, and relevant PR or deployment status.
  17. - Precise next steps, including the first action a fresh agent should take.
  18.
  19. Keep current references accurate and concise. Preserve significant history separately instead of deleting it or accumulating contradictory addenda. Distinguish verified facts, historical observations, assumptions, and unknowns. Never record secrets or claim an unrun check passed.
  20.
  21. Preserve all existing work. Follow authorization already granted and the repository’s PR workflow; this prompt does not independently authorize commits, pushes, merges, deployments, or production changes.
  22.
  23. Finish by reporting which documents changed, what remains unfinished, and whether the handoff is committed/pushed or exists only in this workspace. Clearly identify anything a new session in another workspace would not yet be able to access.
