Chapter 19.5 - 1216: A Brief Overview of House De Gael

Æthelstan II de Gael, son of Æthelstan I, son of King Loup, is the current King of England. He has four living children, the eldest having died in 1203. His second child is named Æthelstan as well, and he is heir to England and East Anglia. He and his siblings currently control no land. King Æthelstan II has 4 living siblings (one of his brothers died in 1209), none of whom control land, although his sister Sæthryth is Duchess of Gwynedd, married to the Duke, who happens to be DKM, son of Breselueu.

After the death of Duke Cearl of Essex, son of Densley Blair, Cearl's son Tanet inherited the Duchy of Essex. Tanet currently has no children, but he has 4 siblings.

When King Breselueu passed away in 1202, the crown was moved to another branch of the family. In his lifetime, he had 6 children. His first, Blitz the Dragon, is 46 and lives in Thetford, Norfolk with her husband Assiuc. She has three children, all de Gael.

Jerkera, the second oldest daughter of Breselueu, died in 1213, leaving behind 4 children. She was married to the former King of France and her children are considered to be Capetian. Her oldest daughter is now Queen of Scotland.

DKM is the oldest son of Breselueu. He is currently the Duke of Gwynedd, married to King Æthelstan's sister. He has four children, including a bastard daughter with one of his courtiers.

Rhifnaw, twin brother of DKM, though overshadowed due to his stuttering speech, lost his Duchy (Deheubarth) and eventually his county to his former vassal. Since then, he has moved to his brother's court in Gwynedd, becoming a commander there. A poor one, but still a commander.

Idhrendura is married to Prince Othon of France. She has one child of House Capet, who is a commander of France.

Her twin sister, Necro Creature, died in 1201. Her husband, Martin Billung, died 2 years later under suspicious circumstances, although no blame was ever placed. She and her husband had one child, a daughter named Arganteila. She died a year after Necro passed away at the age of 1.

Lastly, Duke Attalus' grandson, Earl Attalus of Oxford, is now 64 years old. He had 4 children, but 3 passed away fairly young. They all left children, though, the most successful of which is now Duke of Powys.

In the Kingdom of England, the number of Godwin rulers who directly serve King Æthelstan II, and control a county or Duchy, is 3. The number of de Gael is 3 (though the King would make 4). The rest of the vassals are split between House Henry (3), Hwicce (1), Bacon (1), Hayles (1), Percy (1), and Ua Cheinnselaig (1). Since 1066, all rulers of England have either been of Godwin (2), Hayles (3), Henry (1), or de Gael (3). Before that, it was only Houses Wessex and Knytling controlling the crown.
