  1. Most recently I've been video typed as ILE-Ti by quite a few people, but I'm still finding myself at odds with socionics and the definitions of the information elements. I don't really see myself in any of the judging based IEs, and by text I typically come across as a delta type, so I figured I'd fill out a questionnaire and see what people had to say...
  2.
  3. 1) What is beauty? What is love?
  4.
  5. "Beauty" is a concept which in some ways can be considered a form of attraction to something or someone based upon the characteristics it is perceived to possess. Oftentimes, it is used in a more "aesthetic" sense to describe physical objects or beings that bring a person pleasure from interacting with visually, but is not exclusive to well formed concepts, ideas, or art forms.
  6.
  7. "Love" is also a form of attraction, however (outside of the whole chemical definition) aligns more with feelings and emotion rather than intangible concepts such as beauty. Love manifests in various ways from simple attraction, dedication, and "inability" to live without a person or thing.
  8.
  9. 2) What are your most important values?
  10.
  11. Probably control and understanding. To me, control relates to both having control/power over one's environment and one's mind. Having control over my surroundings I find is valuable because it's gives me security and allows me to pursue the ambitions I set out for myself. Self control I find is a necessity in reaching your goals and generally navigating the world in a way that makes sense. Understanding is also important both in the sense of understanding how the things world around you in terms of knowledge. Understanding brings the power to manipulate and also the pleasure of being able to predict and comprehend why something is the way it is. Also having understanding and tolerance for the people around you and being able to view their life, as well as other things from many perspectives is an important trait to have.
  12.
  13. 3) Opinion on war and militaries? What is power to you?
  14.
  15. War is often a result of poor communication and human greed/superiority. Many are naturally ambitious and and seek to push their boundaries in order to become "their best selves" and sustain their appetites, however they see those to be, or just get bored and antagonistic without disorder, which leads to conflict. Military is a natural consequence of this I suppose. Undeniably, both have played an integral role in the development and maintenance of society.
  16.
  17. Not to be cliche, but in my mind "knowledge is power." Knowledge brings control and will. By understanding how the world around you, as well as the systems within it works, you gain access to manipulate and alter these things. This manipulation can only be limited by what you can comprehend.
  18.
  19. 4) What have you had long conversations about? What are your interests? Why?
  20.
  21. Recently I haven't haha, communicating with other's is a huge struggle for me. Usually I only have long conversations when I'm pushed to either analyse or explain the things I know or think or, on the opposite end, spew facts about myself and others, which I'm always hesitant to do. I'm more used to being talked at.
  22.
  23. Nonetheless, I suppose I've had "long conversations" on life scenarios, typology (though only through the internet), perhaps politics (not that I know a ton about politics, mostly what I've noticed in the political climate or specific issues I'm decently versed in), or generally anything I've analyzed and people have asked me about. As for why, see the above paragraph.
  24.
  25. Interests? Not sure I have those hahaha. Typology/psychology (I don't understand people, so I study up on things that will help... Although typology is almost purely entertainment in analysis), the sciences (ie. materials, astronomy, bio), also art and animation (these are both things I do and also I like analyzing what goes into design itself and why certain decisions where made).
  26.
  27. 5) Interested in health/medicine as a conversation topic? Are you focused on your body?
  28.
  29. It really depends? I don't think I'd ever bring that up as a subject of talk, unless it was maybe about mental health/something that really needed to be addressed or (in terms of medicine), how some particular medicine worked and why it did that thing. Biology is interesting to conversation about, and human biology in terms of how things function can be interesting I guess. I'm naturally dissociated from my body, but have to focus a good deal on it since my health has recently been very poor. It's a challenge for sure though, I'm either hyper aware of it or completely dissociated.
  30.
  31. 6) What do you think of daily chores?
  32.
  33. I'm young, so I don't really do much. They're a bit annoying purely because I don't have time to do them, but when I do chores sometimes it's relaxing and it can give my mind a little time to wind down which is nice. When I do chores, I tend to dissociate from the world and think about things, so I don't seem to get as bored of them as quickly as others might.
  34.
  35. 7) Books or films you liked? Recently read/watched or otherwise. Examples welcome.
  36.
  37. In terms of films, I have a really big focus on art above all other aspects. I'm a big fan of the Studio Ghibli franchise, much of them are really creative and I really enjoy looking at some of the deeper aspects of these films. I also really like claymation films (ie. Kubo, Coraline, Isle of Dogs, etc) especially because I find both the art and story line to be really interesting and unique. So much work is put into their creation and, a lot of times, philosophical and satire find their way into these sort of films. Indie films are cool, again the philosophical and artistic aspects are a draw. Usually they have less overused plots too. Funny I've only mentioned movies since I don't really indulge in those. I like mystery/psychological themed books such as "The mysterious incident of the dog in the nighttime" and "room," but have a lot of love for comics and manga (ie. Tokyo ghoul, madoka magica). With manga, it's once again art, with books such as the above mentioned, I'm not always a fan of happy ending or romance and I enjoy getting into the heads of people with entirely different psychological constraints.
  38.
  39. 8) What has made you cry? What has made you smile? Why?
  40.
  41. Recently, being overwhelmed by feelings and myself. I don't really have a great relationships with my feelings and myself in terms of not really being aware of either, so they tend to jump up on me when they get extreme or when I fail at things and occasionally I cry. The other day I cried because some old friends texted me they missed me and they were genuinely wanting me to visit. I seem to get overwhelmed by genuine and innocent actions/feelings.
  42.
  43. I smile a lot, I'm a very nervous smiler and I use smiling to make people think I am listening to them or that I'm agreeable (whether I am or not). I smile creepily when I am thinking too.
  44.
  45. 9) Where do you feel: at one with the environment/a sense of belonging?
  46.
  47. What does this mean? I never feel at one with anything to my awareness, perhaps when I am alone or walking or get into a flow state in terms of work? This concept is semi-foreign to me. There's only one time when I'd been this mindful, and it was in a music clinic thing. We were all playing random notes on our instruments and I think the only reason it made me feel "at one with my environment" was because I completely stopped thinking and my senses were overwhelmed by the cacophony we were creating (although it was quite wonderful in the moment).
  48.
  49. 10) What have people seen as your weaknesses? What do you dislike about yourself?
  50.
  51. I'm incredibly disorganized and tend to either overthink things too much or behave too hastily. I don't really express emotion nor affection well, which leads people to occasionally consider me unsympathetic or be confused about my feelings towards them. I have a very inaccurate perception of the real world because I refuse to interact with it, but still have the audacity to try to map it though my own analysis of how I think things would work and things I've read. I have the emotional intelligence of a 5 year old outside of being able to understand people to a decent degree. I mean, I have empathy and such, but emotional understanding, especially in terms of myself is very poor.
  52.
  53. 11) What have people seen as your strengths? What do you like about yourself?
  54.
  55. I'm fairly analytical and I'm decent at solving problems and explaining things to people in simple terms that makes sense to them. I have a lot of self control and ambition despite feeling no motivation to maintain either. I'm very goal oriented and stand in the center of blind idealism and pessimistic realism, dreamy inaction and workaholic hyperactivity. I'm a good mediator and I do have compassion for others even if it doesn't always come through right.
  56.
  57. 12) In what areas of your life would you like help?
  58.
  59. Probably relationships, since I have no talent for understanding those. Perhaps also in creating comfort for myself and others since I'm constantly on edge lol. Maybe networking too because I don't see the purpose of doing that and apparently it's holding me back?
  60.
  61. 13) Ever feel stuck in a rut? If yes, describe the causes and your reaction to it.:
  62.
  63. Yes, I am primarily the cause. I'm very afraid of bias and immoderation, so I've found myself deprived of pleasure, interest, and desire that I can identify. I'd like to pretend that I'm a grey thinker, and especially when it comes to analysis I can be, but in behavior I'm incredibly black and white. I'm prone to extremes in a sense, capable of oscillating from hedonism and asceticism, for example, if I vilify one in my mind enough, finding middle ground is incredibly difficult for me. Nonetheless, this has left me very apathetic and incredibly empty, completely out of touch with myself and the world. I've been working over the years to reverse that and find things which make me feel something.
  64.
  65. 14) What qualities do you most like and dislike in other people? What types do you get along with?
  66.
  67. Blind arrogance, excessively emotional people? I dislike people who push themselves to the extremes of sensitivity to the point where they are weak and cannot handle anything and those who have blinded themselves so much by logic that they are cruel and stupid. Generally speaking, even though I tend to fall to extremes in personality, other people who do that I also find unable to handle.
  68.
  69. I basically get along with anyone who's willing to initiate contact with me and maintain that though lol. I've been "close" with even those fitting the above descriptor.
  70.
  71. 15) How do you feel about romance/sex? What qualities do you want in a partner?
  72.
  73. At the moment I'm at odds with both of those because I don't understand how they work or how to handle those feelings, nor how and if it's a good idea to categorize myself within those constraints as well. Sexuality feels like a loss of control, but I'm not completely sure I lack it? I'm working on it hahaha. In a partner I guess I'd want someone who didn't require constant attention, but was active and willing to adventure and explore the world. Someone who was willing to get me to actually care genuinely about them.
  74.
  75. 16) If you were to raise a child, what would be your main concerns, what measures would you take, and why?
  76.
  77. I want a child who feels secure with themselves and who I can keep safe, so I think the main focuses would be on maintaining communication with them. I would like more of a mentorship relationship than a ruler one, I want my child to feel as though they are heard and understand why I don't want them to do problematic things. And if they decide to do those anyways, I need them to be sure they can fall back on me without painful retribution so they don't really destroy themselves. I want to put them in an environment where they can pursue their interests without hating themselves for it.
  78.
  79. 17) A friend makes a claim that clashes with your current beliefs. What is your inward and outward reaction?
  80.
  81. It depends, I don't have many really strong beliefs, my beliefs are more "nebulous" or fluid in nature. If it's interesting, perhaps I'd want to strike up a discussion to see why they think that way. If their belief doesn't line up with what makes sense or completely lacks understanding on the topic, sometimes I'm more inclined towards speaking up and explaining my point of view and getting theirs (you must keep an open mind anyways, as you don't have full access of the world). Only if their claim actually harms someone or they completely ignore what I've said can I get really firey. Sometimes if someone says something I consider "stupid" enough, I'll blast to the moon.
  82.
  83. 18) Describe your relationship to society. How do you see people as a whole? What do you consider a prevalent social problem? Name one.
  84.
  85. I'm very self absorbed, thus I have a closer relationship to my concept of society than real society, and lets just say that concept is very fluid and likely has little relationship to reality. Generally though, I think most people are well meaning and seeking of personal satisfaction and security. Most people are self focused, which is both a blessing and a curse.
  86.
  87. I think one of the bigger problems in society is thirst for control, power, and hierarchy. Some people focus too much on this and it can lead them to discount science, other people, and consequence in pursuit of their goals and desires. Another big one is overvaluing of specific traits or things. Because of this rose colored way of looking at certain things, the negatives and consequences associated with these things sometimes gets lost (ie. Selflessness is great because going against yourself and greed in order to help another is good, but being selfless can be incredibly harmful to not only yourself, but many other things around you and also plain stupid in the right circumstances).
  88.
  89. 19) How do you choose your friends and how do you behave around them?
  90.
  91. Whoever is willing to talk to me for extended periods of time is fair game. I don't choose my friends, they just happen. I guess I choose who is close, and that's based upon who can interact with me in a way that makes me actually interested. I try to read the mood and respond oftentimes in ways I think my friends want me to respond, but I come across very mechanical and robotic, sometimes a bit shy/reserved/anxious. In closer friendships, I can be very energetic and sarcastic.
  92.
  93. 20) How do you behave around strangers?
  94.
  95. Somewhat reserved and non-talkative, but I go out of my way to be relatively pleasant and inoffensive
