∎ background: When she was young, Jaeeun was inspired by Suzy and Hyuna, Suzy since she was a great idol and also a talented actress and Hyuna because of her stage presence and charisma. She wanted to be just like them. As she grew up in Seoul, some of her mother's friends told her that 'you should become an idol!' which made her think that she was supossed to become one. But at the age of 14, she stil had no intention of auditioning yet. She was part of a dance crew in her school. One day after a performance, a staff from SM approached her. In the beginning she didn't quiet trust the staff. So she decided to follow her and see if the staff is really from SM and not a scammer.

After she found out that it was really a SM staff, she accepted it. She went to SM to perform a little and passed the evaluation. During the beginning of training, it was quiet hard since she wasn't used to the whole thing. But after a year had passed, it got better, she had made new friends and had gotten used to everything. But sometimes she was afraid that she isn't doing good enough and dragging her friends down.
