- I apologize if I'm not in a good head space over the next few days; While I make it a point for myself to not talk about or delve into politics, the US Midterm Election is today. As it's a particularly important midterm, pretty much everyone within my social circles are pressuring and urging me to vote. However, I am heavily leaning towards not voting simply because the nature of politics, especially from the past couple of years, is completely against who I am as a person as politics today often involves a lot of mudslinging, finger pointing, and an "us vs. them" mentality that I refuse to subscribe to. At the same time, not voting will likely make me feel extremely guilty; If something awful happens down the line between now and the Presidential Election in 2020 and people start calling out those that didn't vote for the 2018 Midterms as a scum of a human being, I would feel like I was the root cause and that I was too much of a fucking wimp to just vote even if I didn't have a solidified political opinion.
- For those that are within my social circles(especially those within my speedrunning or gaming circles), or even anyone who meets me in real life: Please don't talk about politics in conversations with me unless I say that I'm comfortable talking about it. Doing it this way is best so as to avoid me unnecessarily fretting over politics. If I say to stop talking about politics(when talking to me), please stop, even if politics is a thing you enjoy. In saying that, I in no way intend to shut out people who feel politics are very important to them.
- Update: I voted in the end.
