          tondo hinata was born to an aspiring author and a potentially corrupt politician on an exceptionally chilly day. record breaking temperatures graced the urban city of machida, almost appearing to be an coincidental sign for the birth of an equally cold child.

hinata's childhood was not… well, as "kid-friendly" as most children's are. she seemed to be in constant preparation for success, all for the sake of her parents' bragging rights. it didn't help that her family was fairly well-off, either, as this only meant access to round-the-clock tutors that often doubled as nannies for hinata and her older brother. but despite how strict this upbringing may seem, the young girl was hardly perturbed by her demanding parents. instead, she developed a mindset of hard-work, determination, and minimal fun in order to achieve her goals. her personality was exceptionally helpful when it came to her schooling. hinata always managed to secure a top ranking in her classes, due to her no-nonsense persona. in school, hinata was not much of a social butterfly. she usually kept to herself, only associating with others to further her own agenda. following in her father's messy footsteps, she saw absolutely nothing wrong with manipulating others to get what she wanted. hinata's plans for her life were predetermined, and very difficult to deter. this was partially due to her parents, but hinata's own undeniable stubbornness played a major part. however, things began to shift after hinata managed to get a taste of freedom. as her high school career came to an end, hinata chose to pursue university education abroad. her mother was fairly indifferent to the decision, while her father saw it as an opportunity for economic gain, as well as a start to a long-lasting legacy. so despite her original intentions to study in the west, hinata ultimately ended up in attending a university in seoul. she majored in business, with a long-term goal of branching out her father's company into south korea. long story short, that didn't exactly go as planned...

hinata was quickly tempted by her newfound freedom, engaging in activities she would've never thought of doing in the past. by far, the most blasphemous thing she had done in seoul was finding a newfound passion for fame. hinata couldn't exactly understand why she wished to become a celebrity, as she's never expressed any interest in music before, (playing instruments doesn't count. she had little choice in the matter.) and has never been particularly good at dancing. it's likely that her attraction to the "idol life" was due to the glam and the glitz of it all. nonetheless, she lacked the courage to go out and pursue her newfound dream, merely wishing that her looks were enough to get her casted by an agent. strangely, her prayers managed to get answered at her university's annual cultural festival, where she was scouted by a representative from pledis entertainment. after three unsuccessful auditions, she was accepted as a trainee. now legally an adult, her parent's permission wasn't necessary for her to join the company. therefore, her family (save for her brother) remained in the dark about her new endeavors in seoul. a small part of hinata felt terrible for lying to  her parents about what she was doing. but, that part was very small, and the rest of her hardly cared; it was her life, and she had the right to do with it as she pleased.

CONFUSED


o   personality:

          tondo hinata's most notable trait is her undeniable determination. it's unlikely to see her back down from something she's set her mind to. that is, unless she's found something better to pursue. otherwise, she'll do whatever it takes to get her own way, even if it means stepping on others to get ahead. this is only a learned practice from her father, who practically deceives people for a living. but unlike the obvious corruption of politicians, hinata prefers to keep her manipulation and deceit fairly private. the faux persona she chooses to display often leaves people unaware of her true intentions. to most, she would be the last person that you would expect to be a two-faced liar. instead, she skillfully manages to exude a friendly aura, easily drawing others towards her and gaining trust with her youthful looks and soft. her usually quiet nature only adds to the positive misconception, causing others to believe that she's innocent and incapable of hurting anyone.

however, her true personality is a stark contrast to the persona she chooses to display. hinata is exceptionally cold, dishonest, and a bit of a brat. she's known to look down on those who fail to meet her unreasonable standards, convinced that she's far more superior than most for reasons unknown. and when speaking to her, it's best not to believe a thing she says, as it's likely to be all lies. additionally, she's very quick-tempered. it doesn't take much to make hinata mad, but her angered state appears to be anything but angry. when pushed to her limits, she refuses to explode into a waste of energy, and merely remains calm. nevertheless, her words become exceptionally malicious, and her actions become laced with ill-intent.

on the positive side, hinata is very intelligent. she's knowledgeable about several academic subjects, and is fairly skilled in logistic thinking. but most importantly, she's very well aware as to how people work. hinata rarely acts upon impulse, instead carefully deliberating her every move. surprisingly, she's extremely loyal to those she cares about, and can almost seem like an entirely different person around those she holds dear. although, the list of people "she cares about" is very small in number, and is likely decreasing by the minute.

emotionally, hinata has never been the most "stable." she is often uncertain of herself and her feelings, often hides her emotions behind one of her many fronts. unless one were to be extremely close with her, she won't reveal her true feelings. one could easily describe her as cowardly. she often refrains from opening up out of fear of getting hurt. this is not because she's been emotionally hurt in the past, but is simply a fear of the unknown. and for hinata, there's nothing scarier than dealing with something she's never dealt with before.

           ⇢ hinata auditioned at the request of her company.  due to pristin's recent debut, it was unlikely for hinata to make her debut any time soon, unless she were to promote as a soloist. and as she lacked the skills needed for a successful soloist, her best bet at recognition and fame was to join a survival show.

o   how long have you been a trainee?:

o   any hardships as a trainee?:
           ⇢ yes, the language barrier was difficult when trying to adapt to life in korea, and led to a lot of miscommunication when she was a trainee. she also had trouble establishing meaningful relationships with other trainees.

           ⇢ hinata is best described as selectively charismatic on camera. for the most part, she remains quiet, but makes carefully selected quips that overshadow her usual calm nature. she pushes humor and arrogance to the point where it's almost offensive, before pulling it back in to make you smile. she also doesn't shy away from making mistakes in korean as an addition to her cuteness, despite having a decent grasp of the language. she knows what to say and when to say it, ultimately securing her screen time.

           ⇢ hinata is reserved and cold off-camera. many assume this is due to a language barrier, but it's actually by choice. she's well aware that her quietness causes others to fall under the assumption that she's either not listening to them, or can't understand what she's saying. hinata uses this to her advantage, listening in on conversations only to later reveal the information to others.
