  1. -Swap games, whether that's a casual game or a different speedrunning game. As much as you love whatever your main game happens to be,playing it more after having even just an inkling of feeling of anger will inevitably cause burnout.
  2.
  3. -Keep in mind that you will finish a run,PB or not. Whenever you fail a trick, whether that be 1 time or 100 times,it may seem like you just can't finish. That's not true. Don't let tricks you fail repeatedly break your will to finish. Don't get angry at failing a trick, just try again and continue the run. Finish the run even if it's not going to be a PB. Your negative feelings may try to convince you that finishing a run that won't be a PB isn't worth it,but it is worth finishing. Why? Although the run may end up in the red when you hit that last split, you still had fun playing a game you love. That's what speedrunning is all about its core. Forget WRs,forget PBs,forget about all of that and put no amount of importance on them to your well being, just play.
  4.
  5. -You may think you don't have interesting or entertaining stuff to say about your game(whatever that game may be)in your commentary for marathon runs. That simply isn't true, especially if it's a game you're good at or have knowledge in. If your commentary truly is bad or uninteresting, you wouldn't be getting the support you got from your online marathon runs and your run at SGDQ 2017. And even if you feel like it's kind of meh and you want to expand your knowledge on whatever game, there's plenty of room for practicing, especially if that marathon is months away or more than 2 weeks away.
