The Meetcute

(This script could be M4F or F4A because I wrote out the whole script, and can possibly be serialized based on interest.)

MV: Male Voice
FV: Female Voice
(MV is walking home)

MV: Ooof… I just want to get home and order a pizza. It’s been a long day. (sounds of his footsteps) Who is that?

FV (distance): Hey! I didn’t expect you here!

MV: Huh?

(Quickened footsteps from FV)

FV: I didn’t expect to see you (pulls MV I for a hug and whispers) act like you know me please I’m being followed.

MV: (whispers) Okay act natural (normal voice) (kiss on the cheek) I’m sorry sweetie I was so excited to see you that I thought I’d meet you halfway.

FV: Awww you shouldn’t have.

MV: After you.

FV: (low voice) Thank you.

MV: (low voice) No problem. What does the guy look like?

FV: (low voice) Don’t look for him act natural (normal voice) I’m glad that you decided to come with me tonight.

MV: Anything for you sweetie (low voice) where are we going?

FV: (low voice) That hipster coffee dive near the station, Denim. At least that is where I’m heading. I don’t want to keep you too far out of your way.

MV: (low voice) No, that’s okay, I don’t mind doubling back. Can I put my arm around you to play up the charade? You don’t have a significant other that will be mad will you?

FV: (low voice) Go ahead. No S.O.
MV (low voice) You look familiar.

FV: (low voice) You’re the only one on the street that I see on a regular basis that doesn’t tell me to smile. We usually pass each other in the evenings two to three times a week. Sometimes you smile sometimes you don’t.

MV: (Normal voice) Oh that is sometimes the best part of my day right?

FV: (laughs)

MV: Well it is. (low voice) I’m not kidding. Usually I wonder if it is a day I’ll pass the cute woman with the nice bum.

FV: (low voice) Well my nice bum aside, I thought you were safe to approach. The guy had been following me for a half mile at least when I ignored his catcalling. (she takes a look) I don’t see him.

MV: Let me get you to your destination in case he is taking an alternate route. What does he look like

FV: Tall dude, skinny, wearing a black and green varsity jacket.

MV: Ugh, I’ve heard that guy before, you didn’t past that liquor store on Elm and Hanover did you?

FV: Yes, that’s exactly where he catcalled me.

MV: I stopped in to check to see the beer selection at that store. He kept talking about his glory days in high school. Dude peaked early and never stopped. I don’t mean to alarm you but I was right about him on the side street, turn your head slightly to the left and you’ll see him.

(Footsteps)

FV: I would be enjoying this if it was under different circumstances.

MV: Me too. As my GPS would say, we have arrived at your destination.

FV: Would you like to join me, I can buy you a coffee. I’m waiting for friends.

MV: No thank you. I’m going to head home, I have a date with pizza.

FV: Can I give my hero a hug?

MV: Of course (hugs kiss) I didn’t expect a kiss.

FV: You deserve it, I realize I’ve never asked your name… my name is…
MV: (interrupts) Don’t tell me. I just want to remember helping a pretty lady who was in need who gave me a kiss as a reward.

FV: Oh come on don’t get all white knight on me.

MV: How about this, the next time we pass each other and you see that I’m not smiling, tell me to smile. Only then can we learn each others names.

FV: Oh that’s easy most of the time I pass you you’re never smiling.

MV: How am I going to resist not smiling now when I see you though?
FV: I see my friend (kiss) I will get your name you know.

MV: I’d love to have you find it out.

(footsteps depart)
