Baragon shock anchors

As the monster rise down the ground, belly to the air, Michael deployed the shock anchors. Two huge fired from Mechagodzilla's wrists. The hooks, trailing long cables behind them, struck Baragon's neck and chest before the creature could roll onto its feet again.

Steel claws dug into the monster's hide.

"Power up!" Michael cried. Inside the head, Tia Shimura activated the electric shock system. In the heart of the robot, it's nuclear reactor picked up to full power. At the same moment, all but vital systems were shut down, so that all available electrical power was siphoned into the shock anchors.

Millions of volts of pure power ran down the cables and into Baragon's gigantic body. Sparks and flashes of power surged around the creature, which bellowed and how old and baffled agony.

"Increase the power!" Michael demanded.

"We're at full power now," Tia warned him. "Any more might fry the system."

But Michael knew that even the millions of volts of electricity pumping into the monster or not enough. As he watched, Baragon fought against the anchors in its flesh. When it failed to dislodge them, the monster struggled to its feet and turned its back on the machine causing it so much agony.

"What's happening?" Tori cried.

"It's burrowing into the ground itself," Tia answered. Michael knew she was right. As he pulled on the anchors, trying to restrain the monster. Baragon pushed aside tons of Earth and plunged into the ground.

The long cables in the robot's are wrists continued to unspool as the creature dug deeper and deeper into the ground. Minutes passed, and still the robot shot electricity through the cables which began to burn from the powerful wattage.

Suddenly, Mechagodzilla was dragged forward, toward the pit the creature left in its wake.

"We are out of cable!" Michael cried.

"Impossible," Tori replied. "Each one is almost a mile long!"

But it was true. As the creature dragged at the robot, Michael cried out again. "Sever the cables, or will be dragged into the Earth behind it."

A second later, he felt the pull on his wrist cease. The cable shop free and vanished into the black pit Michael watched them go, then he activated the shoulder rockets inside Mechagodzilla's shoulders.
