- >"Are you awake Anon?"
- >You pull the pillow off of your head and squint towards the doorway, spotting a fuzzy blue muzzle and a pair of magenta eyes peeking through
- "I am now"
- >Dash grimaces
- >"Sorry, I guess I'll just-"
- "No, it's alright."
- >You pull yourself up, bones popping and stretching
- "What's going on, Dash? You flew all the way down here, so it must be important."
- >She starts to pull her muzzle back
- >"It's nothing, I'm just gonna-"
- "Dash, get the fuck in here and tell me whats going on, or next time you're in heat I'll lock the door and bar the windows."
- >In the faint moonlight, you can see the barest hint of a scrunch on her face and hear a faint grumbling
- >The door swings open as she pushes her way through, trotting to the bed
- >She rests her muzzle on the side of your bed
- >She's avoiding your eyes like they'll turn her to stone
- >"Can I sleep with you tonight?"
- >You can't help but smile a little bit at how tsundere she's being
- >"Of course Dashie, my bed's always open for you."
- >Dash pulls herself up onto your mattress
- >She spins and pats down the mattress, almost cat-like, before dropping next to your side, head pointing away from you
- >"You're not gonna pin me down and rut me like we're the last two fertile creatures on the entire planet?" you say with a smirk
- >Silence
- >You raise an eyebrow, smirk falling from your face
- >"You're not even gonna complain about the fact that I called you Dashie? You hate it when I do that."
- >More silence
- >You sigh
- >Your hands wanders over top of Dash's side
- >You start running your fingers through her fur, the tension in her muscles obvious
- >You two sit there in silence
- >The sound of cicadas chirping fills the room, only interrupted occasionally by someone drawing a breath
- >You can barely make out the outline of Dash in the faint moonlight
- >Easing back into your tough mattress, you get comfortable again
- >You close your eyes, letting sensations fade until all thats left is the warmth of her body and the softness of her fur
- >You idly run your hand across her back, occasionally rubbing small circles with your thumb
- >You can feel the tension in her muscles fade away
- >Her breathing starts to drag, taking longer breaths and waiting more between each one
- >You feel your limbs grow leaden
- >Just as you start to drift off, Dash starts moving
- >You open your eyes
- >Dash turns around, putting her head on your chest and spreading her wings out
- >She's still avoiding your eyes
- >You reach out towards one of her wingtips
- >She flinches away, pulling her wings back
- >You just set your hand down
- >Her wings drift back down to the bed
- >You reach towards it
- >It freezes in place, but after a few moments slowly continues downwards
- >Once its resting across your chest, you wrap your fingers around the leading edge of her wing
- >It feels tense
- >You run your hand down it, feeling her soft pegasi fur give way to feathers
- >Her wings feel so light, almost weightless
- >When you reach the base, you start making your way back up
- >You two sit like this for a while
- >Your hand running across her wing, her chest on your head
- >Eventually, she turns her head towards you, her magenta eyes pouring into yours
- >"I don't want you to go, Anon"
- >You let out a sigh
- "Relax, Dash. I'm not going anywhere for a long time."
- >Dash presses her hooves into your chest, lifting herself over you
- >"That's just it, that means that someday you'll be leaving"
- >Dash looks to the side, face contorting
- >"Even if it's a long ways away, I can't stand the thought that someday you won't be here with me."
- >You feel something drip into your chest
- >"I- I don't like being alone, Anon. I don't want to be alone again."
- >You reach a hand out and cup her chin, turning her face back towards yours
- >Her magenta eyes shimmer with tears
- "Listen to me Dashie, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Some day, I won't be by your side any more. Everything has to come to an end eventually."
- >Her eyes light up with a flurry of emotions
- >Sadness, desparation, anger, hurt
- >More tears drip down onto your cheek
- >"How could you say that Anon?!"
- >You place your thumb over her lips
- "You didn't let me finish."
- >Taking a deep breath, you start again
- "I won't always be there for you Dashie, but others will be. You'll find new ponies that you'll be able to rely on. There's no way a mare as charismatic as you won't. No matter where you go, you'll always be surrounded by those who love you and support you. You're too inspiring to not have your own personal cult."
- >She lets out a small chuckle, a ghost of a smile on her face
- >You set your hand on her cheek, wiping away her tears with your thumb
- >"You'll never be alone if you don't want to. Just because I might not be there doesn't mean that others won't be."
- >Dash sets her head down, nuzzling up against you
- >"That doesn't mean I won't miss you and your heavenly hands, you big dummy."
- "And that's alright. I know I'd miss you too if you just suddenly dissapeared."
- >"Please, it'd take Celestia herself to keep me away from you."
- >You smile
- >"Yeah, I know."
