Entire world nations and economies were absolved and solidified into Urban Centers under a New World Order, with one government, the ruling strong-arm to that of The Will of the Combine, and their "Benefactors" - formerly known as the "Universal Union". All former types and styles of currency, even digital, were absolved as well - leaving a token system based on civilian morale and civic duty, such as ration factory shifts, daily allowance, and loyalist acts to The Universal Union.

Through nearly thirty years of constant, harsh occupation, you find yourself with or without a mate, and an unsuccessful newborn, and growing late in your years, you are of the last generation humanity has known, and have long endured this far, and have merely forgotten to count your days.
