- Prediction is, as far as functionality goes, me saying "I have a damage calculator and plenty of time, I can and will map out each option if I have to, and I will go down a couple turn permutations into the future if the situation calls for it"
- in story, it does two things
- one, it basically overclocks her brain to be able to work at supercomputer speeds on processing information
- two, it takes all known facts about the situation, the posture of people/pokemon involved, temperament, positioning, etc etc etc
- and generates a "road map" of possible futures, sticking to ones that are reasonable (i.e. an enemy isn't going to shoot themselves with an attack at random)
- in short, rather than showing her what will happen, it shows her everything that could happen, and includes the necessary powers to both make those predictions and act on them
- the downside (well, it's now a downside) is that she absolutely must open both eyes; she needs the input from both (the primary culprit behind this is depth perception)
- problem being that opening her scarred eye hurts, badly
- and keeping it open worsens that very quickly
- she has enough pain tolerance and willpower to push through it for a battle, even a long one, but after, say, a 6v6 singles gym battle, she's likely to basically crumple while clutching the side of her head
- which is why she only uses it when she needs to
