  1. >Day 1 in The Reaper's Game...
  2. >"Here are your pins!"
  3. >A black pin with a white skull-like thing on it appears in front of you.
  4. >You take it, adding it to your one-pin collection.
  5. >Your other pin is called Blink Step, by Pavo Real.
  6. >Flipping this new pin, suddenly, you hear a bunch of voices.
  7. >They seem rather personal, and you can hear captions above people's heads.
  8. >The hell..?
  9. >"They let you read minds. It's bitchin', I know."
  10. >Ah, that explains it.
  11. >"Alright, that's it. Good luck, especially you, Brett*!"
  12. >How did they know...?
  13. >After the Reaper teleports away, the Noise appeared.
  14. >Flipping your Blink Step pin, you wait for something similar to happen.
  15. >Nothing happens.
  16. >You're fucked.
  17. >"Hey! Brett*!"
  18. >Huh?
  19. >You turn to the voice, wondering how they know who you are.
  20. "It's Anon, and who are you?"
  21. >"Make a pact with Trixie!"
  22. >Who the hell is Trixie?
  23. >Whoever she is, you are both surrounded by noise.
  24. >She's a blue coated, silver(two shades) maned pony.
  25. "Alright, I accept."
  26. >A flash of light.
  27. >There would be a kickass cutscene but I can't draw, lel.
  28. >"You have a pin, correct?"
  29. "Yeah, but-"
  30. >"Good! Then let us destroy these slimy things!"
  31. >Slimy?
  32. >Huh, the symbols are now frogs.
  33. >Another flash of light, and...where did everybody go?
  34.
  35.
  36. >You see those frogs again.
  37. "What do I do?!"
  38. >You do the one thing you're good at.
  39. >Running around like a maniac.
  40. >You run as fast as you can, and holy shit you're invisible!
  41. >At least, until you stop running.
  42. >A frog leaps, and kicks off you.
  43. >Fuck that hurts.
  44. >You resume running as a frog kicks you again.
  45. >While you're invisible, it seems you're invulnerable to damage.
  46. >You repeat your running until suddenly, you're not invisible anymore.
  47. >Oh shit.
  48. >However, when a frog is about to kick you, it...disappears?
  49. >Convenient.
  50. >You continue running, and after a few seconds, you're invisible again.
  51. >Must need recharging, or something.
  52. >You continue running, and running faster when invisibility wears off, and having the frogs conveniently disappear.
  53. >Eventually, all the frogs are gone.
  54. >Hey, there's a pin.
  55. >It says 5, and has a bit symbol on it.
  56. >Then, another flash of light.
  57.
  58. >That other pony is there, panting.
  59. >"Why does it feel like Trixie did all the work?"
  60. "What do you mean?"
  61. >"Trixie was fighting off the Noise."
  62. >Oh, those frogs.
  63. >Wait, does that mean...
  64. "Okay, what's-your-face-"
  65. >"It's Trixie."
  66. "Whatever. So you were fighting those frogs?"
  67. >She nods.
  68. "How? I was practically powerless against them."
  69. >"With her pins."
  70. >She levitates a few pins towards you.
  71. >One of them is a Pavo Real pin. Meteor Magnet, you believe.
  72. >The other is a Pegaso pin, the same brand that made your clothes. Jack's Knight, if memory serves you correctly.
  73. "I have pins, too, but they did jackshit!"
  74. >You show her your Blink Step pin, and Player Pin.
  75. >"The Player Pin is useless. As for that other one, was there something in the other Plane that you could do?"
  76. "Well, I could turn invisible. Although what's a pla-"
  77. >*BEEP BEEP*
  78. >The sound is coming from your phone, a Motorola Milestone x2.
  79. >It can't run Chrome, so that should give you an idea of how much it sucks.
  80. >You have a single message.
  81. >'Whoops, forgot to send out the mission. Get to the Appaloosa Town Hall. You have 10 minutes. Fail, and face erasure.'
  82. "Spambots are getting weirder."
  83. >"Brett, you fool! It's for the Game!"
  84. "Again, it's Anon, whoever you are!"
  85. >"Trixie."
  86. "Whatev-"
  87. >Suddenly, pain surges through your left hand.
  88. "Shit!"
  89. >The pony winces in pain as well.
  90. >You look at your left hand as she looks at her left hoof.
  91. >There's a timer, counting down from 9:59.
  92. >Doesn't seem like a countdown to a party, given the black font with a red outline.
  93. "And this is...?"
  94. >"Our timers. Weren't you paying attention?"
  95. "Oh, right."
  96. >You only really heard the entire 'here's your free stuff' part.
  97. "So we better get to the town hall."
  98. >"Correct."
  99. >The two of you start running.
  100.
  101. >After a quick run, the two of you find yourselves at the town hall.
  102. >The pony gives you the lowdown on what you didn't listen to in the beginning.
  103. >Apparently, you died.
  104. >You were surprised, to say the absolute least.
  105. >By that, I mean...well, remember how Omi reacted to being trapped in the mime episode of Xiaolin Showdown?
  106. >It was something like that.
  107. >Now that she mentions it, you vaguely remember jaywalking and getting hit by a chariot...
  108. >When asked as to how she died, the pony didn't respond.
  109. >Well, you don't blame her.
  110. >You also have to survive seven days worth of missions, one per day.
  111. >Considering that today's was just go to the town hall, how hard can it be?
  112. >The pony agrees with you.
  113. >Sure enough, you're at the Town Hall.
  114. "Alright, that was easy."
  115. >"Trixie agrees."
  116. >"It's not over until I say it's over, kids!"
  117. >You turn to the source of the voice.
  118. >There's a yellow coated, orange haired stallion laying down on the Town Hall roof.
  119. "Who the hell are you?"
  120. >"Name's Noteworthy."
  121. >...What? It was the first pony I thought of.
  122. >"Alright, today's mission was boring, I know. But it was just a warm up for the main event."
  123. "How so?"
  124. >"Because this is the part where I kill you for good."
  125.
  126. >He tosses a couple black blobs towards you and the pony.
  127. >They land in front of you, and materialize into Noise.
  128. >Oh shit, one of them's a bear.
  129. "Hey, Bluey?"
  130. >"It's Trixie!"
  131. "Whatever. Hope you're ready to do all the work."
  132. >"We're getting you some actual pins after this."
  133. >Another flash, and you're alone again, with the bear and frogs.
  134.
  135. >Meanwhile, from Trixie's point of view...
  136. >You can't believe it. You keep telling him your name, and he still forgets it.
  137. >They weren't kidding about your sacrifice.
  138. >There's the bear and slimy, creepy, frogs.
  139. >Ugh. You hate them.
  140. >You get to business, concentrating on one of the frogs.
  141. >Soon enough, meteors strike it.
  142. >When the meteors stop, you fire a nearby sign for some restaurant at it, finishing it off.
  143. >You launch the sign at the other frog some more until it disappears into nothingness.
  144. >You try sending the sign at the bear, but the pin needs to reboot.
  145. >Back to meteors!
  146. >You send some meteors at the bear, stunning it, before attempting to launch the sign again.
  147. >Sure enough, it hits the bear in the head.
  148. >You beat it up with the sign some more, before returning to the meteors.
  149. >The process repeats for a while, before it, too, is defeated.
  150. >No thanks to Brett, of course.
  151. >Why does he insist on Anon, though?
  152. >Your question remains unanswered as another flash of light occurs.
  153.
  154. >Back to Anon.
  155. >You pick up the pins, still marked with a 5 and bit symbol.
  156. >The flash of light engulfs you as you return to the normal Plane.
  157. >There's the blue pony, again.
  158. >Noteworthy is gone, however.
  159. "So, that's that for that."
  160. >You turn to the pony.
  161. "Thanks again, I guess."
  162. >"You're welcome. That said, it's time we did some shopping."
  163. >As she walks off, suddenly, you black out...
  164.
  165. >Meanwhile...
  166. >"Noteworthy, excellent job. More than half the players have been erased."
  167. >"I know, I know, Clover."
  168. >"That's Conductor to you."
  169. >"Whatever. Now, I gotta prep for the next day, if you'll excuse me."
  170. >"You are excused."
  171. >"In that case, ciao."
