  1. Start in the Ice Caves and throw a bomb at the first monster you see.
  2. For the next 2 fights, throw a rope and attack repeatedly. If you encounter an alien UFO, I usually sacrifice a second bomb instead since a rope might not be enough. If you get a rock, run the next fight in the Temple since you'll have the strength to defeat a cultist (throw a rope, then attack until the stun wears off, then attack or throw the rock), otherwise continue fighting in the Ice Caves. The intent is to raise as much Gold as possible for the first shop.
  3. 37 turns left (choice): Go shopping in the Jungle or Ice Caves and buy out the stock. You want to clear out as many pieces of equipment as you can from the shopkeeper's stock so you can buy the X-ray goggles in time.
  4. Fight in the Jungle and search for the tikiman's boomerang and torch. Use rocks you find to defeat most monsters, or take damage as needed to preserve your combat items; resting will likely be coming up immediately. Reserve 1 rope on hand for a later area unlock. If a tikiman drops an item, you'll get a boomerang if you don't have one, or else a torch if you don't have one.
  5. 34 turns left (choice): Go to the Temple and grab the idol's treasure. Unless you were lucky to have the right equipment in stock, you will lose the remainder of your HP. Equip the spelunking fedora and rest to return to full health (this will cost a turn). If you have a different hat, keep the fedora for a couple fights until you take damage to use up the 5 extra HP. From this point onwards, be sure to maintain 11+ HP until you unlock the Altar.
  6. Continue to fight in the Jungle and search for the tikiman's boomerang and torch. If you've succeeded, then fight in safe zones that don't drain your resources.
  7. 31 | 30 turns left (choice): Go to the Mines and use a rope to unlock the Spider Nest.
  8. 30 turns left: You should start exploring the Spider Nest right now if you haven't already, or you might not find the Spider Queen in time.
  9. Fight spiders in the Spider Nest. If you find a rock, bring it to the Jungle for an easier fight while looking for the tikiman's torch.
  10. 28 | 27 turns left (choice): Go shopping in the Jungle or Ice Caves and buy out the stock. For general combat, your ideal outfit is mining helmet, torch, jetpack, shotgun, spiked boots. (Aside: although one light source is sufficient, I have not yet found a late-game scenario where the spelunking fedora boosts attributes enough to improve my worst-case safety, so the mining helmet wins by default for convenience.)
  11. Fight spiders in the Spider Nest, or bring rocks to the Jungle. After defeating 5 spiders in total in the Spider Nest, prepare to fight the Spider Queen in the next 1 to 3 turns spent there, though you may want to wait until after the next shop for supplies.
  12. Spider Queen: 40 HP. You can win easily by throwing a bomb. If you have a rock + jetpack + spiked boots, you can also throw the rock to save a bomb. This fight is eligible for post-combat bonuses, such as the light source bonus.
  13. 25 | 24 turns left (choice): Go shopping in the Mines and buy out the stock. However, you can be a bit more selective if you got important equipment early on. Equipment you want to have: spring boots, shotgun, X-ray goggles (must purchase from shop; the Altar unlocks too late), spiked boots (can get one from Altar), jetpack (can get one from Altar), mining helmet (nice to have). You'll also want one key.
  14. Fight spiders in the Spider Nest, or bring rocks to the Jungle or to the Spider Queen. Fight the Spider Queen during this period, and spend your remaining turns in the Jungle looking for the tikiman's torch.
  15. 22 | 21 turns left (choice): Go to the Temple and unlock the City.
  16. 21 turns left: You should start exploring the City right now if you haven't already, or you might not find Bananubis in time.
  17. Fight mummies in the City. You'll generally want to spend ropes instead of bombs to defeat the mummies, as an upcoming boss fight will require 10 bombs to eliminate risk.
  18. 19 | 18 turns left (choice): Equip your best boss-fighting outfit (ideal: spelunking fedora, rock, jetpack, shotgun, spring boots) and go shopping in the Jungle or Ice Caves. If you think you have the spare resources, you can get the entire stock plus some gold by defeating the shopkeeper. See 25 | 24 turns left for equipment you want. If you don't have the X-ray goggles after this, you won't be eligible to fight Yomama. This is why it's important to buy out the stocked equipment in earlier shops.
  19. Shopkeeper: 150 HP. If you have a Skeleton, then you can spend 2 bombs and a rock. Otherwise, you'll probably want to throw 3 bombs. This fight is not eligible for post-combat bonuses.
  20. Continue to fight mummies in the City. After defeating 5 mummies in total in the City, prepare to fight Bananubis in the next 1 to 3 turns spent there.
  21. Bananubis: 80 HP. If you have jetpack + spiked boots, then you can throw a sticky bomb and finish by throwing a crumbling skull. Otherwise, you can throw a sticky bomb and then throw a rock. This fight is eligible for post-combat bonuses, such as the light source bonus.
  22. 16 | 15 turns left (choice): Equip the X-ray goggles and go to the Jungle; check the inscription for the Clown Crown.
  23. Continue to fight mummies in the City if you haven't found Bananubis. Otherwise, you'll want to equip Bananubis's Staff to raise a Skeleton by fighting in a safe zone or in the temple once to unlock LOLmec's lair (use a rope and attack repeatedly to win the fight). Be aware that Bananubis's Staff decreases the amount of randomized gold drops (non-jewel / non-treasure) in the Ice Caves and lower zones, so you might want to combine this with unlocking LOLmec's Lair in the Temple. Once you have a Skeleton, switch back to your best weapon. Catch up on finding a torch in the jungle if you lack one, or gather gold in your safest zone. Remember to maintain 11+ HP.
  24. 13 turns left: You must defeat Bananubis right now if you haven't already.
  25. 13 | 12 turns left (choice): Go to the Ice Caves and kick the landmine to unlock the Altar.
  26. Sacrifice your Skeleton buddy immediately at the Altar to receive a cursed coffee cup and increase your attributes. Equip Bananubis's Staff again and raise another Skeleton, either in your safest zone or in the Temple if you haven't unlocked LOLmec's Lair. Also consider equipping the cursed coffee cup for long enough to recover HP to sustain one hit from 60-power monsters. Be aware that the cursed coffee cup also decreases randomized gold drops. You should sacrifice the Skeleton immediately unless you're about to fight a boss or already completed 3 sacrifices for the rewards. Make sure to summon a 4th Skeleton to ease combat.
  27. 10 turns left: You must unlock LOLmec's Lair by fighting in the Temple right now if you haven't already.
  28. 10 | 9 turns left (choice): If you need combat supplies or a key, equip your best boss-fighting outfit and go shopping in the Jungle or Ice Caves. Consider fighting the shopkeeper if you have adequate combat supplies. Otherwise, you can acquire gold, in priority order, by spending keys #3+ on unlocking the treasure chest in the City (150 Gold), blowing up that treasure chest with a bomb (85 to 105 Gold), or equipping the torch and burning the cocoon in the Spider Nest (45 to 50 Gold). You can also fight a shopkeeper for 40 to 50 Gold.
  29. 9 turns left: You must go defeat LOLmec right now if you haven't already.
  30. LOLmec: 300 HP. Special interactions for this fight: Throwing a single sticky bomb won't stagger, but the special Throw Ten Bombs skill will. If you have 10+ sticky bombs, you can win the fight instantly with the special Throw Ten Bombs skill. Otherwise, you'll have to equip spring boots and your best weapon, plus a rock or torch if you're low on combat supplies. Use ropes until LOLmec is stunned and you also dodge with your spring boots (enemy didn't break free of the ropes), then you are safe to throw a bomb or attack. If you are running low on bombs or ropes, you can throw the torch to deal 100 damage in a single shot as your final move of the fight (it doesn't stagger or stun). When LOLmec breaks free of the ropes, switch back to using ropes. Bombs are preferred for this fight, but you can also succeed with a mixture of bombs and ropes. This fight is not eligible for post-combat bonuses, so there's no use in bringing the cursed coffee cup or hoping to summon a free Skeleton.
  31. 8 turns left: You must unlock Hell right now if you haven't already. Equip the Clown Crown, Joke Book of the Dead, and Bananubis's Staff and return to LOLmec's Lair with a key.
  32. In Hell, you have two possible combat strategies. You can equip the cursed coffee cup and take a hit from the 60-power monsters (healing that damage at the end of the fight) and using combat supplies against magma men, or you can equip a torch + spelunking fedora and defeat magma men in a single hit and use combat supplies against the 60-power monsters. Your decision might depend on whether you have a mining helmet for the light source bonus drops and how many combat supplies you have.
  33. 7 | 6 turns left (choice): Collect the idol treasure from the Temple to raise your score.
  34. Continue defeating monsters in Hell.
  35. 4 | 3 turns left (choice): See the acquiring gold guidance in 10 | 9 turns left.
  36. Continue defeating monsters in Hell. Your 7th victory unlocks Yomama's Throne. If you have excess turns, you can gather gold from fighting in the City (no combat supplies needed) or in the Temple (if you want to try for a cultist and have extra combat supplies).
  37. 1 | N/A turns left (choice): If you think you need supplies for the final fight, equip your best boss-fighting outfit and go shopping. Otherwise, see the acquiring gold guidance in 10 | 9 turns left.
  38. 1 turn left: Equip your best boss-fighting outfit (including the torch if you have one) and approach Yomama's Throne.
  39. Yomama: 300 HP. Special interactions for this fight: The first bomb thrown will stagger Yomama but deal no damage; subsequent bombs have no effect and are wasted. Throwing a torch staggers Yomama but does not deal its usual 100 damage; instead, it triggers a passive periodic damage effect and also starts a bomb countdown if you've thrown one. Your Skeleton deals an extra 10 damage each time it acts. If you have a torch and a bomb and about 4 ropes, you can finish the battle quickly by throwing the torch, then the bomb, then stalling with ropes (see the LOLmec fight for details). Otherwise you'll need up to 16 ropes for stalling, or up to 9 if you have a torch. This fight is not eligible for post-combat bonuses.
