     [ CHUNGIE ] This commonly used nickname was given to him by both of his parents. As a baby, they would always call him this and it just stuck throughout his childhood. Now, people call him this to try to annoy him. Little do they know, it’s normal to him and he will happily respond to it. Although, it’s only ever really used by certain people as an endearing nickname.
     [ JO ] Throughout his childhood, it was often Chungjo’s classmates made complaints that his name was “a mouthful” or “too bothersome to say” because of the ‘ch’ and ‘j’ sounds. Not wanting a dumb nickname, he quickly told his peers to just call him “Jo”. It’s short, simple, and still relates to his name. Now, he’s gotten into the habit of offering for new people to call him this instead if they struggle with his name.
     [ CRIS ] This nickname derives from his other name, Cristiano. The people who only call him by this are those who actually know his other name, those people currently only consisting of his family and a few close friends. While it isn’t too often that he’s called this, he quite enjoys this nickname since he thinks it’s a pretty cool name.
     [ CHEF JO ] Ever since he was a kid, Chungjo has had a passion for cooking, baking, and anything of relevance to those. He’d always help his parents cook meals and even cook alone, though always under his Dad’s watchful eye. Because of his natural cooking talent and love of being in the kitchen, his parents and friends began calling him “Chef”, the “Jo” later being added. This nickname continues to be of relevance and use since, despite choosing to be an idol, he still cooks.
     [ FOODIE ] ^^^ This nickname was not only brought on by his love for cooking but also for his love of eating food in general.
     [ CRISSIE ] Chungjo got this nickname from his youngest and only omega sibling. Ollie, as Chungjo calls him, has a speech impediment and finds it somewhat difficult to say “Cristiano”. To fix this, he just began calling him “Crissie”. He is perfectly okay with this though he refuses to allow anyone else to call him this. This nickname is reserved only for Ollie.
     [ HONEY ] Being of Filipino descent, courtesy of his Dad, Chungjo’s skin has always been a bit more tanned than the majority of those around him. As a kid, he’d been really self-conscious of it because he wasn’t sure how much he liked looking so different but he gradually grew to love it, his newfound confidence making this blooming alpha so much more desirable. All throughout his life, his peers had secretly referred to him as “Honey” because of his skin, only openly doing so when he finally accepted himself.
     [ CRISPY ] ^^^ This nickname is also due to his darker skin but for a different reason. He and his family had gone on vacation in Jeju and he ended up with a bad sunburn. One of his younger brothers, Jaeyeol, jokingly began calling him “Crispy” because a) it sorda relates to his name, b) he was sunBURNT, and c) his already dark skin became darker once the sunburn faded.
     [ DAD ] Chungjo earned this nickname because of his caring and responsible yet laidback nature. He always puts those around him before himself and always makes sure they get their personal responsibilities taken care of. While also being a responsible leader, he also manages to be laidback and knows how to have fun. Thanks to these qualities, he earned himself the nickname of “Dad”.

background:
     YOO CHUNGJO WAS born and raised in. Daegu, South Korea to two fathers, Yoo Seungwook and Emilio Martinez-Yoo. The alpha-omega pair had known each other for nearly their entire lives before deciding to act on their mutual feelings, Emilio baring Seungwook’s mark. Many people had doubts that Seungwook would last with just Emilio since there was no guarantee that he would remain loyal or that Emilio would be able to bear children for him. These doubts were falsified when their first child was born, four more to follow in coming years.
     BEING THE MIDDLE child of the Martinez-Yoo family, Chungjo was expected to be the forgotten child but this assumption of the family also turned out to be wrong. He was very much loved and given as much attention as his younger and older siblings. Having a large family gave him the advantage of constantly being involved in everything and never getting alone time. Of course, he didn’t mind seeing as he was raised in this loving, tight-knit environment. He and his siblings were raised to be very family-oriented, something that sticks with him even to this day. He values his family, blood-related or not, and puts their wants and needs before his own, which can sometimes be an issue concerning his own well-being.
     CHUNGJO WAS BOTH loved and hated by his friends and classmates. Loved for his friendly and outgoing personality and hated for his loud voice, energy, and disregard for personal space. Being raised in a large family, he was never really taught the concept of personal space since skinship was always a huge part of their everyday lives. This carried with him in his life outside of his family, often prompting judgment from his peers for being too weird. While he didn’t outwardly show it, he felt more than a little self-conscious about how people viewed him, both because of his behavior and his looks. To his advantage, it was obvious he’d present as an alpha before he even did so, earning his classmates’ admiration. Everyone wanted an alpha friend and who better to befriend than their obviously alpha classmate even though the majority of them found him annoying.
     AS EXPECTED, CHUNGJO presented as an alpha when he reached the proper age. With the assurance from society that he was meant to be something great due to his title, he grew more and more confident in himself though he didn’t let it get to his head too much. Allow me to rephrase, his fathers didn’t allow him to let it get to his head. They wanted each of their children to be humble and open-minded, not letting their rank determine who’s better than who. This worked out for the most part. With Chungjo’s newfound love for himself and his usual loud, outgoing personality, he began gaining more and more friends, fake friends gradually dissipating until he was left with a few true ones. While this would’ve normally depressed any kid, he was unbothered by it and actually quite happy he had fewer friends to keep up with.
     ALL THROUGHOUT HIS childhood and well into his teenage years, Chungjo was always cooking or singing, or both, along with playing baseball on his school’s team. It wasn’t a secret that this kid had an undeniable cooking talent but, when he jokingly burst into song in order to annoy his older sister, his singing talent was discovered. His parents were both surprised considering neither of them could sing nor could any of Chungjo’s siblings until Ollie was born. The surprise of his hidden talent faded within weeks though since he decided to test it out every chance he got. While his fellow alphas in the family grew increasingly annoyed by this, his beta brother and omega father found it quite endearing and often encouraged him to continue. It was society’s views that made it almost crucial for an alpha to be successful and/or good at more than one thing and the appearance of their middle child’s multiple talents made Seungwook and Emilio very pleased despite raising their kids to live for themselves and not for society.
     AS CHUNGJO’S HIGH school graduation grew closer and closer, he shocked everyone with his decision during his final year. It didn’t come as a surprise when he was offered multiple scholarships to different culinary-centric schools, all of them eager to one day call this promising prodigy their alumni. He hadn’t given any signs as to where he planned to go and he hadn’t even so much as mentioned the scholarships. His friends, family, and teachers just figured he was still thinking or wanted to wait to reveal it on graduation day. Little did they know, the alpha had already made up his mind. He’d taken it upon himself to drag his best friend with him to Seoul, using the excuses that they were good to visit Chungjo’s older brother at his university. While this was true, Chungjo’s main reason for going was to attend the open auditions for 9LIVES Entertainment. He loves cooking but he loved singing so much more and he was positive that he wanted to pursue being an idol. He finally told everyone once he was accepted into the company, disappointing many people in the process.

personality:
     CHUNGJO IS THE embodiment of loud and loving. There's seemingly no such thing an inside voice with this guy and most people think he's yelling most of the time. He just has a naturally loud voice that could probably be heard all the way from China. He has little to no concept of being quiet but he can and will speak softly when it’s necessary, especially when speaking to someone who’s upset, sensitive, or just overly shy. All he wants is for people to be comfortable around him despite being an alpha male and he’s willing to do whatever he can to achieve that. This guy genuinely has a big heart and cares immensely for those he’s close to. He dotes on his friends and group members a lot and it seems like he just would easily let them laze off and get away with stuff. That couldn’t be farther from the truth. He is very adamant about keeping his group on task whenever they need to be doing something and he becomes very strict and leader-like.
     HAVING GROWN UP in a fairly large family, Chungjo is very familiar and very comfortable with skinship. It was a constant in his everyday life so it was no surprise when his touchy habits carried with him into his trainee days and beyond. He has little to no concept of personal space and will shamelessly hug, touch, pick up, and/or cuddle his group members or close friends. He isn’t exactly this way with strangers considering that’d be pretty weird but he is definitely a hugger when it comes to greeting people or saying farewell. In addition to his excessive but endearing skinship, he is protective. Whether it’s a personal trait or an alpha trait, he’s extremely protective over his group members and close friends. He’s always making sure they’re okay and instantly at their side when they aren’t. He doesn’t allow grabby, out of control fans get too close to the shyer members of the group and has no qualms in making a scene if someone gets too handsy or bold. This trait goes hand in hand with his father-like persona. As the leader (and thanks to his personality), he always makes sure his group members are happy and healthy, sometimes sacrificing his own well-being for their sake.
     CHUNGJO’S OVERALL BRIGHT personality isn’t to be confused with naivety or ignorance. He is still very much an adult and still very much an alpha male. He’s by no means innocent. When it gets put bluntly: no, he’s not a virgin and, no, he was not raised with a silver spoon and, yes, he’s aware of the effect he has on people and, yes, he knows exactly what society is like. Despite popular belief, his upbringing in a fairly large home did not mean his family had endless amounts of money nor did it mean he was off the hook from everyday chores. He knows what it’s like to work for what he gets and it annoys him when people think otherwise. Chungjo has his moments when everything gets to be too much and overwhelms him to the point that he snaps in a fit of anger or sadness; these breakdowns are always at the extremes with no in between. Another thing that is notorious for setting him off is disrespect. As an alpha, his presence alone basically commands it and he doesn’t take kindly when people purposefully go out of their way to disrespect him. It’s not like he demands a bunch of it anyways, just basic human respect that is by no means difficult to achieve considering everyone was raised to treat people with basic respect.
     BEING THE LEADER isn’t exactly an easy thing to do. Add on the fact that Chungjo always takes on extra stuff, including chores and practice time, and you have one very stressed Korean-Filipino. He doesn’t let this stress show nor does he allow his group members to see how affected he is by his responsibilities. The last thing he’d ever want is for his group members to worry about or focus on him when they should be focused on themselves and their responsibilities. Sure, he’s exhausted, starving, and at his wit’s end by the end of the day but, when it comes down to it, Chungjo wouldn’t change a single thing. He loves his group so much and wants them to succeed. All of those late nights up in the studio or practice room, all of those skipped meals, all the sweat and tears; to Chungjo, every extra second he’s sacrificed to the group is worth it.

     [ CRACKS HIS KNUCKLES ] Whenever Chungjo is nervous/anxious, he cracks his knuckles. He formed this habit when he started playing baseball as a kid and when he began competing in small cooking competitions. When he noticed it somewhat helped to ease his jitters, he kept doing it.
     [ STRESS EATING ] Chungjo is the number one stress eater. If he feels too pressured/stressed or is just overwhelmed, he will eat anything and everything that’s edible. This is the main reason they keep so many snacks in various places around the dorm since he’s also been known to break into his group member’s private stashes when he runs out of snacks.

hobbies:
     [ COOKING ] Chungjo has always had a natural talent for cooking and is extremely good at it. It’s something he enjoys a lot so he tries to cook for his group as often as possible, almost every day if their schedule allows it. He believes that home-cooked meals are important to help them feel comfortable, work harder, and succeed.
     [ PLAYING BASEBALL ] In addition to cooking, Chungjo highly enjoys baseball. He started playing as kid thanks to his Papa insisting that he play a sport. He wasn’t really opposed to it and took up baseball when he saw the other neighborhood kids playing it, his position primarily being center field but also a relief pitcher. He played every year and even continued through high school despite his busy schedule (studying, working, etc.). He claims that if he didn’t become an idol then he would’ve taken one of the few offers he’d gotten to play baseball in college and, later, professionally.
     [ WORKING OUT ] In order to play baseball well and stay in shape for it, Chungjo worked out a lot and it eventually became a routine thing. He does so every day whenever he can find the time to do so.

pet peeves:
     [ BLATANT DISRESPECT ] As an alpha, any form of respect is a must for Chungjo. He refuses to be treated like anything less than human. While he doesn’t allow disrespect towards himself, he also doesn’t condone people disrespecting other people. It frustrates him to no end when people go out of their way to be ill-mannered and disrespectful.
     [ LOUD/OBNOXIOUS CHEWERS ] Chungjo absolutely cannot stand people who chew loudly and/or chew with their mouth open. It’s obnoxious and disgusting and he has no problem with calling someone out on it, friend or not.

fears and phobias:
     [ FAILURE ] One of the driving forces behind Chungjo taking on extra hours of practice in the dance or recording studio is his fear of failing. He knows being an idol isn’t what his parents wanted for him but it’s what he wanted and doesn’t want to fail and prove everyone’s thoughts that he shouldn’t have chosen to be an idol. Because of this, he’s always striving for everything to be perfect and precise.
     [ LONELINESS/ABANDONMENT ] Chungjo is absolutely terrified of being abandoned. It’s caused him to become almost paranoid that those he’s close to will leave him. This is one of the primary reasons he tries to call home at least once a week to make sure his family still there for him. Being constantly surrounded by his group members helps a lot with this since he’s never truly alone.

一 who is your biggest inspiration/role model?
       “My biggest inspiration is definitely my family and my role model is my Dad. My Dad always supported my dreams no matter how dumb they were and stood up for me when my siblings got annoyed that I sang all the time.”

一 if you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?
       “I would live in Hawaii since it’s always so warm there. Plus, I actually have a few cousins who moved there and I’d like to visit them.”

一 how often do you go shopping? what do you look for or buy?
       “I probably shop, like, a few times a week, if online shopping counts. We eat a lot so I always get food while we’re out shopping. Besides that, I just get whatever I’m interested in and can afford.”

一 what is one thing you will never do again?
       “The last time I did this was a long time ago but I’ll never smoke again.”

一 who knows you best?
       “My Dad for sure. I tell him everything.”

一 what makes you laugh the most?
       “My group members. They’re always doing something funny or stupid, usually both.”

一 how long was the longest time you went without sleeping? why?
       “Almost three or four days, I think, and I dozed off a lot during that time but not for long. There’s a few times that’s happened but the one I remember most was when my baby brother was hurt. I was really worried about him so I took a break and went home to check on him.”

一 what is your favorite genre of music? what do you most like to sing/rap?
       “I listen to all kinds of music besides rock or metal music but I prefer the songs that are slow but not, like, super slow, something that’s easy to sing and keep up with while still being able to hype you up in a way with its beat.”

     Chungjo has smoke before but it was back in high school and refuses to do it again. He does indeed drink but not avidly. Although, one drunk mistake led to another and now he has a tongue piercing that he never mentions. He just waits for people to notice it.
