  1. FFX/HD FAQ
  2.
  3. Q. World Record?
  4.
  5. A. PS2: 10:16:05 by CaracarnVI
  6. HD (PC): 9:25:49 by Flobberworm4
  7. PS2 (JP): 10:46:33 by ze_ak
  8.
  9. You can see the FFX leaderboards at speedrun.com/ffx
  10.
  11. Q. Which version do you play?
  12.
  13. A. I most often play the NA (NTSC-U) PS2 version
  14.
  15. Q. Will you run 100%?
  16.
  17. A. No, because there isn't a 100% counter in the game, and nobody can say what 100% is. I do run Nemesis% which involves capturing 10 of every enemy and defeating superbosses. This run is just under 24 hours.
  18.
  19. Q. Is HD Faster or Slower?
  20.
  21. A. HD is faster, but considered a separate category.
  22.
  23. Q. Any strat changes between HD and SD?
  24.
  25. A. No, nothing changes compared to the SD version, just different music/graphics. There are some minor changes, but nothing that changes the route. PC version can skip some FMVs which obviously saves some time.
  26.
  27. Q. Difference between English and Japanese?
  28.
  29. A. Besides language and timing differences (Power on -> End of credits instead of New game -> Last hit)
  30. -You cannot skip the intro in the Japanese original version.
  31. -The Bevelle Trials are faster on JP
  32. -You don't win a strength sphere for winning Blitzball in Luca.
  33. -The skips (mi'ihen, guadosalam and Jysscal sphere skip) are all banned on JP.
  34. -JP Allows turbo for dialogue, and has slightly less text, saving time in some areas.
  35. Overall the JP version is slower, but is considered a separate category
  36.
  37. Q. Which Sphere grid do you use?
  38.
  39. A. Standard. There is no route for the expert sphere grid, and it would be slower to use anyway. The Expert grid is not available on the PS2 (NA version).
  40.
  41. Q. How are you dealing 9999 damage?/How will you kill the harder bosses without leveling up?
  42.
  43. A. I can deal 9999 damage by using one of Rikkus mix overdrive, Trio of 9999. This is used by mixing Wings to Discovery with Wings to Discovery, and makes all my current party members deal 9999 damage with every attack.
  44.
  45. Q. Where do you get Wings to Discovery?
  46.
  47. A. Remiem Temple, near the Calm lands.
  48.
  49. Q. Where did you get all those fire gems?
  50.
  51. A. By bribing flame flans in the calm lands I can get 7-13 fire gems (for each flame flan), and more from stealing from enemies on Mt. Gagazet.
