  1. >Zelda hastily shut the door behind her, quickly locking it. Quickly giving it a quick tug to ensure that it was shut and locked tight. Satisfied that she would be alone for the next couple hours, she skipped over to her bed, giggling a bit to herself as she opened her satchel.
  2. >The Princess finally found what she had been looking for as she flopped down on her bed. Her fingers grabbing their prize as she lifted it, or him, up to her face.
  3. >”This is so exciting Link!” She beamed down at the small knight, “I’ve only read about these types of Minish effects and curses in the library’s old history books! I never thought that I’d ever-“ Zelda stopped as she looked down at her guard, for once taking in the shaken, almost scarred look on his face.
  4. >”Oh!” She giggled, “I’m sorry, I guess things are a lot scarier from your perspective now!” She said as she poked Link with her finger. The Hero fell to his butt as the air was knocked out of him. The thunderous giggling above him continued as Zelda couldn’t help herself. Seeing someone who had protected and saved her during most of their interactions was helpless against her finger was almost hilarious to her.
  5. >Gently, she placed the hero down onto her bed, grinning down at him. Her mind already coming up with tests to run to see just what this Minish magic had done.
  6. >None of them malicious or intentionally hurtful anyway. At least, not to her they weren’t.
  7. >”Now, I’m not entirely sure just what the magic did to you, or if there’s any other effects.” Zelda explained as Link slowly collected himself, “And since we’re in a very controlled environment,” a small smile slowly crossed the Princess’ face, “I was hoping I could run a few tests?” She asked, almost eagerly.
  8. >Her smile faltered as she stared down at Link, his slouching posture, tapping foot, and unimpressed look screaming, ‘I don’t want to be small, please just fix this.’
  9. >”Please?” Zelda begged like a child asking for a toy, “Just a few tests, and then we’ll get to work to fix your size!” Link put a finger to his chin for a minute, pondering his choices. Zelda probably wouldn’t be as eager to fix his size if he refused, and she only said it’d be a few...
  10. >Sighing in defeat, the Hero of the Wild looked up at the person he was tasked to protect, before nodding his head. But not without a regretful eye roll.
  11. >Zelda’s smile quickly returned as she scooped Link up in her hand once again, and running over to her desk. Carelessly she dropped Link down onto the hard wood surface of her desk. Recovering quickly, Link stood to his feet, staring up at the wide smile his Princess was giving him.
  12. >”Okay,” Zelda began, opening one of the many drawers about her workspace desk, “You seem to be about an inch tall, but I just want to make sure-ah! There it is!” Zelda said happily as she pulled out a worn wooden ruler. Link jumped back as the, from his perspective, massive beam of wood was pounded on it’s edge next to him.
  13. >”Alright, just stand next to this, so I can figure out how small you are.” Zelda explained, opening up one of the many journals she kept for notes. Hesitantly, Link complied, standing up straight against it as Zelda brought her eyes down to his level, trying to get as accurate a measurement as she could.
  14. >”Yep! I was correct, you are one inch tall!” She concluded, scribbling a few notes down in her book, before looking back over at Link, “Could you lay on one of my pages please? It’s not every day I can trace a whole person with a single piece of notebook paper.” She giggled. Link rolled his eyes as he climbed up onto the platform of a notebook.
  15. >...
  16. >”Alright, next we’ll test how much your strength has held up!” Zelda said, brushing her hair back, “I’ll push my finger down onto you, and you’ll try to hold it up for as long as you can!” She explained, raising her finger above Link’s head. Hesitantly, the Hero raised his hands toward the log like finger above him, getting ready.
  17. >”Ready?” Zelda asked happily, a small nod from her small friend gave Zelda her answer. Slowly, she began to press down as Link did his best to keep her finger off of him. Gently, Zelda began to press down harder, and soon, she could see Link struggling to stay standing as his arms began to tremble. Smiling playfully, Zelda added a bit more pressure, and Link collapsed to her desk.
  18. >”You certainly lost a lot of strength.” Zelda said, a small smirk on her face, “Though that isn’t too surprising.” Slowly, she lifted her finger off of Link’s chest, before once again getting picked up in Zelda’s hand. Quickly grabbing onto Zelda’s thumb to stay balanced.
  19. >”Alright, last test, I promise.” Zelda reassured as she set him down on the stone floor. Link gawked up at the towering Princess, seemingly miles above him.
  20. >”This will be a bit scary for you, but I promise it won’t kill you.” The massive princess said as she slowly raised her foot above Link, “Now we’ll see just how durable you are.”
  21. >Before Link could even attempt to object, the ship-like shoe fell upon him, flattening him to his back as he tried his hardest to power the show off of him.
  22. >Much like the last test, Zelda slowly increased pressure, quickly making Link cry out in pain, but somehow he felt nothing in his body break.
  23. >After a minute or so, Zelda finally lifted her foot off of Link, smiling down at him.
  24. >”Well,” Zelda said satisfied, “It seems your just as durable as you would be at your normal size.” She observed, picking him back up in her soft hand once again.
  25. >”That’ll be good to know, since it will probably take me a while to find a solution.” She said as she set him down on her desk once again, “But I’m sure you’ll be fine staying in my room to be safe for now.” She smiled, before walking to her door.
  26. >”Just stay there, I’ll head to the library to see if I can get a start on a solution. I’ll be right back!” The Princess, now Link’s self-esteemed guardian, said as she shut the door behind her, leaving Link alone in his thoughts.
  27. >He just hoped Zelda could fix this soon.
