- This pastebin will be a collection of interesting and funny alternatives to playing OoT and other bingo-suitable games with the usual row choices. The suggestions are based on 5x5 boards like this one http://speedrunslive.com/tools/oot-bingo/?seed=123456 but the ideas can be used in other sizes as well. I'd strongly recommend normal bingo boards, not short or long ones.
- pattern bingo
- Someone decides on a specific shape and all goals forming this shape have to be completed. An example of this could be X (meaning TL-BR and BL-TR have to be completed). There are a lot of possibilities but the shape should be somewhat self-explanatory.
- The goals shouldn't exclude each other (like Black Gauntlets and Goron Bracelet, 6 and 7 hearts, etc.).
- overflow bingo
- While you can decide on whether this will either include or exclude the normal rows and columns, the fixed addition will always be that all diagonals are allowed meaning you can pick any goal and move diagonally in one direction until you hit it again. In order to handle the "overflow", you need to find the corresponding goal in the appropriate direction. You can't select those diagonals on the SRL bingo board but I explain the coding of any text into the bingo popout window here [http://pastebin.com/B3Mu2Sxa]. If you imagine the position of each goal on a grid where 0|0 would be the top left goal, you can get every overflow position by using this equation: (x+xdirection+5)mod5|(y+ydirection+5)mod5 where x/ydirections can be positive/negative 1 depending on your choice (a base would be 1|1(TL-BR) and 1|-1(BL-TR) using initial positions from row 1 (0|0 to 4|0)).
- restriction bingo
- This idea is not really finished at the moment but you basically get a normal board and have an extra restriction apply no matter which row/column/diagonal you pick. That means some rows will be really bad while others might not be affected by that much. The current restriction list is just a basic example and requires some work to become feasible (also emulator only at this point).
- How does it work? The list of restrictions could be {no RBA, no S&Q, wireframe rendering, no WW, keyboard inputs}. You can just take the seed mod5 in this case and assign numbers 0-4 to the items in the list to determine which restriction to apply to the board.
- - I will add more versions like chat% bingo etc. in this file so it will remain useful after the follower special Kappab
