- Night: Otis invited Lexi, Bijou, Olivia, and Valeria to stay in his room, but Bijou will likely bail. If Lexi chooses to stay with Bijou instead Otis will give her a look of concern that hopefully tells her to be careful tonight. He offers his bed to his guests and sleeps on the floor. Feels quite nice actually, straightens out the back. He remains aware of his guests for a bit as he rests to make sure nothing funny is happening, but Bijou is the only one he would expect to try something and she likely isnt there so it should be okay. He gets up a bit early naturally and starts to stretch and do some push ups to get the blood pumping. He then polishes off the rest of his crackers, jerky, and remaining chocolate biscuits. He then uses what's left of his time to ask Alfred about the arena and that crossbow to learn of their history and Alfred's thoughts on the arena itself.
- Arena: Otis is wearing his usual coy smile and doesn't appear hostile. "I have no desire for theatrics, are we still in agreement? You'll take one for the team and help me give that bastard Tresler what's coming to him? Very well then, let's not waste time and get this injury over with." To occupy one of Luke's hands Otis hands him a bandage and painkiller like he said he would to him in pm. "Do you want to bruise..." he gestures with the tire iron "...or bleed?" Otis casually waves the knife, waving it in a way that naturally catches Luke's eye for a moment. And in that moment Luke is blinded, Otis was cleverly holding one of his laser pointers between his palm and the handle of the knife, thus allowing him to blind him and then immediately thrust the knife right into his throat in one motion. Otis loots the body and takes back his bandage and painkiller. He takes the crossbow if he can, if he's allowed to take anything else of value he does.
- If Luke is open to the plan Otis laid out in their PMs then the above scenario should happen with success. If Luke plans to fight Otis I may have to write a separate mini action pm. Don't wanna waste time on that if its not gonna happen though.
- Security Room: Otis starts off here with his travel card. He's ready to engage in a fight or knock them out if someone else uses a fast travel card to get here. He's also ready to immediately retrieve his new flashbang and pull the lever that kills the lights in the art room and unlocks the vault. He will take everything in the vault. 30 seconds are almost up, he glances at the monitor and then uses the snap gun to unlock and loot lockers 1 and 4. He looks at the monitors again. Is there a control panel to manage locks and other various functions of the facility? Can he hack into it? Might not have the time to reap the benefits of doing so, but Olivia should be coming along to benefit off of his efforts. At the very least the monitors will inform Otis of the whereabouts of the others. This information coupled with his tracking device will make hunting down his next target rather easy. Bringing the player count to 7 is the main goal now so judging by whats on the monitors will determine if Otis has enough time to plunder the small locked cabinet and Office cabinet. Maybe he can at least grab a card or document on the office cabinet. If he has enough time to take everything and still hunt down his next target then he does and shares what he takes with Olivia and Valeria, but I doubt he will have enough time given the priority of a second kill, and his friends should be on their way as well.
- Se7en: By killing Luke and assuring Bijou's extraction, Otis just needs to make one more kill to achieve the desired head count. The security monitors should show where his targets are, and Otis has the tracking device as well. Ogi also likely has a masquerade kit and will be anonymous. That wont fool his tracking device though. Otis hunts Ogi down. There won't be any coy smiles this time though, Ogi is already well aware of the threat Otis poses to his life. He wont see this coming. Otis times his attack to get Ogi with his flashbang at the best time. From there Otis goes all out using everything he has, throwing knives, laser pointers, whatever he deems best for the job. Maybe the crossbow or Lukes inventory is that. Hell, maybe Otis was lucky enough to get an actual gun from the security room. Whatever the case Otis isn't stingy. He goes all out to ensure this objective is met so that himself and his friends will no longer be subjected to volunteering.
- The monetary prize will not be earned and is not important. If no more volunteering isn't as good as it sounds or is a bad character motivation then I guess that will cancel Otis' plans to hunt down Ogi. That said I'm pretty sure no more volunteering is a super good thing, yes? I just don't want Otis to do something so dramatic and then look like an idiot on day 4 because Carl immediately chimes in and says everyone is now just a volunteer by default.
- Also I don't want Otis to die somehow pursuing a second kill because then that would undo all his efforts to get Bijou extracted. That said how likely is that scenario? Otis is stacked pretty well and will be even more so after killing Luke. Security room could stack him even higher. Instead of hording more items it makes sense to use what he has now to progress the game further, no? Really don't wanna be seen as greedy and get killed off arbitrarily for going after Ogi. I don't think it's greedy since he's willing to bail on the security room early to accomplish this and is also willing to use up his offensive items. He will also be sharing his shit too with his friends so its not like he would be super OP on day 4 anyways. If Olivia and Valeria help Otis as well then it should basically be a guarantee, but I think Otis is still very capable of doing it alone if he has to. He's willing to switch to Rose as the target if Ogi is super powerful for some reason and common sense says to not go after him, but I also kinda doubt that will happen.
- Dinner With the Boss: Otis still plans on taking up that dinner offer should he receive it. Considering the reduction in workload Otis has provided for him, Carl will likely have enough time to indulge him in such
- Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This: Otis has to get that esoteric card. The two so far he's collected are quite powerful and he can't let them fall into the wrong hands. Assuming Luke and Ogi are dead then Rose would be the ideal target. If things are finishing up and this still hasn't been accomplished then Otis will state how important getting it is and then proceed to quickly knock out one of his companions and carry them back to their room.
- Otis will sabotage anyone else's attempts to complete this objective. If he encounters someone knocked out he will either harm them or kill them. Depends on the context of the situation.
- Stuck In The Middle With You: Didn't think this would come up unless Otis wanted to lock the room he was in by backhanding Olivia or something, but it likely has to be a full on fight to do that so not gonna happen. It however may come into play as Otis hunts down Ogi and kills him, but Otis could also avoid such by telling Olivia/Valeria of such so that they will back him up in a fight.
- Security lockdown: This one is a problem. Otis coordinated with the alliance so that all 3 teams would be at different rooms, but Otis needs to hunt down Ogi or Rose for that second kill. Gotta pay extra attention to this. Make sure when it does happen its in a scenario that helps the situation, not hurt it.
- Six Feet Under: The reward isn't worth it. The satisfaction of giving proper burial is a better reward even. This wont be relevant unless the person Otis is hunting down is trying to accomplish it. If that is the case Otis will fuck them hard for it.
- Show Must Go On: Irrelevant.
- Sword And Board: Irrelevant.
- Strange Bedfellows: Completed but Otis sadly wont even need them by the time he gets them since the arena fight will be over.
- Gas: Getting gassed is a big fear to have this round, do whatever necessary to avoid that until we can find a gas mask.
- Combat: Otis has a good arsenal and intends to fully use it if needed. He should feel at home on the sand, reminds him of Afghanistan and Iraq. Stuff like the kitchen knife and throwing knives should be spent. Meaning I am okay with using them to score kills and then not get them back. An example would be jamming the kitchen knife in Luke's throat so hard it gets jammed into his vertebrae and cant be retrieved(he would stab luke with his combat knife assuming that would yield more success though) or jamming it into someone's kidney or liver as a way of comboing into another attack. Or throwing all 3 knives at Ogi after getting flashbanged even though that's total overkill just to assure he gets the kill successfully. I guess I want him to still have the combat knife but I'm cool with spending that too. If spending all his weapons means Otis will definitely get through this action phase with no injuries and the two kills he hopes to claim, then I am perfectly okay with starting day 4 with no weapons at all. That said, that is a lot of weapons to use up permanently if he gets both Luke's and Ogi's inventory. But I guess thats why I wanna say just use the fuck out of Otis' weapons because he will recoup those loses from the kills he scores. I don't really see the downside to not using all your weapons in the most effective manner, Otis wont be able to use them on day 4 if he is dead after all. If you don't think having the spare kitchen knife on hand to combo into another attack with his other weapons will be effective then I guess he leaves it behind, but I am assuming it will be useful. I don't know. I was thinking of writing up a weapon loadout for the arena fight but I think I will just trust you to decide that. I guess let me know if there are any glaring issues with inventory so that I can decide what items to leave in the safe.
- Otis will have the new flashbang as soon as he starts in the security room. Otis will use that flashbang to start off his second kill in conjunction with the info on the security monitors and the tracking device. Otis goes for the most devastating tactic here for dealing with Ogi, catching him when he is most vulnerable. It would be nice to not get others caught up in this but Otis wont hesitate to flashbang Ogi even if others might get caught up in it. And if anyone is stupid enough to get in between Otis and whoever he is hunting down then he will use not one but two of his laser points to make sure that even two people wouldn't be able to counter him taking Ogi's life.
- Weapons: Can a third concealable weapon be held with no drawbacks if its being held in hand in the place of a non-concealable weapon? This would be useful since I expect many weapons will be coming into Otis' hands this phase, and he intends to use all of them to ensure he bags his kills. I will let you handle the inventory so that he doesn't go over I guess. I don't like asking GMs to do vague shit for me but this is more a common sense kind of thing. Otis isn't afraid to use up what he has now because he will be scoring more weapons from his kills and maybe even the security room. Even if he doesn't I'd much rather be without any weapons on day 4 if it means he got Bijou extracted and the player count to 7.
- Enemy Weapons: Otis isn't the only one well armed so be careful. I've detailed his two fights in ways where he bags the kill in a way that is so unexpected and stacked that they should have success, but if Otis gets into a full on engagement then disarming is a priority, as well with not getting flashbanged or laser pointered himself. Assume all shop items are ready to be used against you, especially that reflex enhancer. Throwing knives and double laser pointer combo could be fantastic for disarming serious threats in a full on fight.
- Also holy hell don't get shot by Valeria's tranq gun. Hopefully she is the only one that has one but Otis may as well assume everyone but himself has one just to be safe.
- Injury: Otis cant afford to get hurt, which is why he never humored the thought of losing the arena fight. Luke expected as much from Otis too which is why he chose to agree to let Otis injure him so that he could become part of the alliance. Otis is launching a tactical strike on Ogi as to ensure he doesn't get injured when killing him.
- Cards: Can fast travel cards be used mid action phase? Like say Otis had a second one could he do what he needs to in the security room and then fast travel to the best possible spot to launch a tactical strike on Ogi? Otis will collect cards because why not.
- Lockers: Otis will take what is in 1 and 4 but he doesn't wanna hog all the unlocked lockers knowing that his friends are on the way. If the lockers can yield apparel like a black coat like Otis' or Carl's then definitely want that. If there is a urban camo get up like the one those guards had then want that. If there is a bullet proof vest then want that. Headgear? Otherwise leave them be for Olivia and Valeria, unless there is like an ak47 in there or something which seems unlikely.
- Traps: Valeria has a tripwire so make sure to not trigger it if coming across it. Also fully expect others to have trap items. Hell, maybe one of the lockers is even a trap. Luckily Otis could spot an IED from helicopter while in a desert storm so if there are traps laying in his way he should have a good chance at seeing them.
- Other fuckery: The unexpected can be the most devastating. Be very very cautious of anything out of the ordinary. There has to be some sort of radical variable in this phase that could spell doom for Otis and he doesn't plan to fall victim to it.
- Luke and Ogi's rooms: Can they be looted? It would be wise to do so, but also don't just rush in there casually, they could have set a tripwire or something similar in the event they expected this would be their final day. Looting the rooms however isnt a priority if there is no time. Otis has to focus on the must haves.
- Must haves: Bijou's extraction(Luke's death), 7 players(Ogi or Rose's death), esoteric card(knocking Valeria or whoever out towards the end), no injuries. If it is really impossible to get the players to 7 because it will get Otis killed then I guess he nopes the fuck out of that plan but I really think he has a solid plan to make it happen with good success.
- End of phase: Talk to anyone as we all head back to our rooms. Observing what they take is one thing, but maybe asking them how things went would be even better. Otis will likely be carrying Valeria back to her room since he will have to knock her out for the esoteric card, because I imagine hunting down Rose to knock her out on top of hunting down Ogi to kill may be virtually impossible in the time allotted.
- -Character thoughts-
- Markus: Otis was under the belief that because of his participation in the arena he wouldn't get any extra benefit from telling stories. If that was not the case and Markus was disappointed in not getting any stories then Otis will apologize. Otis chooses to get chocolate over alcohol. He reminisces on the days when a simple chocolate bar was a more welcome vice than cigarettes and charms Markus with some stories from his childhood. Otis is considering telling him his literal life story, everything about him right up to his most recent character thoughts. It is dangerous letting Markus know everything about him, but this seems like a nice way for Otis to come clean about what he's done so far so that his story is not lost. I like the idea of Markus knowing everything about Otis because it will be an interesting handicap. Markus might even turn around and start offering dirt on Otis to the others for sharing stories, that could be fun to deal with.
- Ogi: Not knowing what Ogi's volunteering did is a big red question mark so be very cautious. I really hope he isn't watching the arena fight play out with ways to fuck with both Otis and Luke at his disposal because of such. Otis would be wary of such an arrangement. Otis is also privy to the fact that he may have a masquerade kit. Very likely he will be the target for the tracking device, Otis will make that choice once he sees the security monitors and becomes aware of everyone's positions. Ogi was hiding between shelves in the store room like a weirdo according to Kat last action phase. Doing something stupid like that again will make him extremely vulnerable to Otis' plans to assassinate him.
- Luke: He made the poor choice of keeping to himself, turning down alliances, and generally just raising suspicion and being unlikable. Because of that Otis had no problem rigging the vote to get the match he desired. Luke did however beg Otis not to kill him once the votes were in. He is clearly fearful of Otis, and just about everyone expects that he will be the loser of the fight. Rightfully so, but that sure as hell isn't enough to flatter Otis into a sense of false security here. No, remember what Otis said to Alfred? Nothing is ever certain, only probable. Otis sets a good example for Alfred in not making such naive mistakes as assuming things will go perfectly his way. He is fully prepared and ready for shit to hit the fan here somehow.
- Otis told him that if Luke was willing to take the injury then Otis would help him in the action phase for his troubles. He said he wants Luke to join his alliance and help him get back at Carl. Luke agreed. The sad thing is Luke actually might make a good ally, but he has to score that kill to save Bijou. If Luke was genuine when he agreed to take the injury and work together in the action phase then Otis will sadly kill him for it. There is a slight chance Otis might spare him and then use his assistance in the action phase, but Luke already said he doesn't want to kill anyone, which Otis absolutely has to do right now to ensure Bijou's extraction.
- If Luke plans to betray the deal they set then things will really be ugly for him. Otis would be ready for a scenario in which Luke tried something funny or desperate. Pay attention to if he has combat boots or not, Otis feels more than fine fighting on sand, but that would be a noted advantage Luke would have over Otis. Again hopefully this isn't the case because of the solid assassination plan Otis has laid out, but I really wanna write more about this because I don't want Otis to die if the arena fight is wildly different from what is expected. Might need a partial I guess if my plans dont work out.
- Rose: I don't like her and neither does Otis. She is trouble. Good candidate to knock out since she isnt in the alliance. Good target to hunt down and kill to get 7 players as well if Ogi can't be hunted down for some reason. Hopefully she tries to bury a body in the grave or something, would be a good chance for Otis to sneak up on her and not only deny her that curved dagger reward, but knock her ass out into a grave or maybe kill her and grave her in the same motion. Again I wanna state that Otis shouldn't get greedy though. If Luke is killed, and Ogi can be killed, going after Rose would be very greedy and could spell disaster. Otis can get that esoteric card from knocking out Valeria at the end or something. And I think Otis and I can manage to live with her for another common room or maybe all the way to the end. I just really don't like her and Otis has no reason to tolerate her if she is a threat.
- Valeria: Very important to Otis. She is kind and delicate. She chose to stay here with Otis and make sure they both make it out together. She is his best companion in a way. Their relationship has been very trustful and harmonious. Otis will most likely give her the stairway to heaven card as he doesn't plan on using it himself. As such Otis may use her to get the third esoteric card on offer this phase. It should be done towards the end of the phase so that Valeria can still do stuff with him and Olivia. Otis will gently carry her back to her room. I don't know if he tells her he is gonna do this, ask her, or simply just do it suddenly and explain tomorrow morning why he did such and then gift her stairway to heaven to make up for it.
- Her being near and dear to Otis' heart doesn't mean he rules her out as a threat however. Everyone is a threat. And she has a tranq gun that could undo even a powerhouse like Otis so don't let him underestimate her.
- Lexi: Otis has become infatuated with her... he might even be falling in love with her. These feelings are a mystery to even himself but they are strong. He chose to show her his entire inventory when they were in his room together. Everything but the laser pointer. He even offered her anything he had if she wanted it, but she only asked if she could have the ring if it was useless. Otis gave it to her as a gift regardless of its value. He was happy to give it to her.
- Unfortunately Otis' feelings will never be returned, but that doesn't seem to affect his willingness to help her. It's a lot like Lexi's situation with Bijou if you think about it. Ironic that our professional stalker would end up falling for the amateur stalker.
- Otis is devoted to bettering her situation which is why he went to such lengths to ensure Bijou's extraction. With the two apart he might actually be able to help Lexi move on with her life and get to a healthy place. He'll do whatever he needs to give Lexi the life she deserves, even if that means continuing to work for Carl once this is all said and done.
- Saving the love of her life is certainly one way to make Lexi like and trust him more, but if there is anything minor he can do to endear her to him or please her then Otis will do so.
- Jazz: Thankfully she is now talking with Otis. She also voted the way that he asked her to which is a good. Being cooperative is a good way to make Otis like you. That's not to say Otis underestimates her though. Quite the opposite, the girl could be a ticking time bomb, and without her personal effects Carl has made her even more unstable.
- Emmanuel: Otis feels remorse for his death. It was quite sad. At least he died appreciating his true passion. It would be nice if Otis could give him a proper burial out of respect, but Otis has way more important shit to take care of, namely the living. Plus his dead body laying on the floor in the dark of the art gallery will make a good trap for someone to trip over.(Otis did tell Olivia and Valeria about this so they wont trip)
- Otis: He's crossed a line that can't be uncrossed now. Otis didn't want to become this, he wanted to help everyone here, but he isn't so naive as to believe in the power of friendship. No one will be summoning dinosaurs and ponies here to save the day. This is a death game, and Otis takes that dead seriously. While the others were hoping and wishing for an unlikely outcome, Otis was playing the damn game. Otis plans to keep on playing, not throwing his life away. No, his life will be the ultimate bargaining chip once we get to the high stakes round.
- Olivia: Otis still doesn't know if her dossier was tampered with. She has however been a great ally, and kept Valeria safe for him while he was murdering Emmanuel. She is incredibly valuable and well liked, but she is also very dangerous to Otis. She didn't seem too happy about Emmanuel being dead, and she never really pressed Otis on it so who knows how she really feels. Hopefully she is who he thinks she is, but Otis isn't turning a blind eye to anyone here.
- She will be heading to the security room with Valeria to meet up with him. Otis puts thought into what items he wants to share in the security room, likely taking the most devastating items for himself while yielding other stuff like documents and such to Olivia. Otis will also try to hack the security monitors/system so that Olivia can dick around with it while he goes off to hunt down Ogi or Rose.
- I don't know how I want to handle Otis informing Olivia and Valeria about him hunting down Ogi to get the desired head count of 7. It might be easier to not tell them. Hell, maybe he gets what he needs in the security room, sees Ogi on the monitor, then slips past the two girls in the dark of the art gallery as they are just arriving. That might be really stupid to not inform his two best companions though. I don't know if he can trust them to tell them he is gonna kill again. I guess he does if they are loyal to him and will help, but if it creates problems where they turn around and try to stop him. Maybe he should just lie and say that he has to hunt down and kill Ogi or else the immediate extraction wont happen and everything will be for nothing. Actually that seems like a good idea, Valeria does have that tranq gun after all, her joining Otis could make his tactical strike even more devastatingly efficient. Just make sure they don't protest or sabotage him. If simply telling them the truth why he is hunting Ogi(needs to get the players to 7 to stop volunteering) will get them to accept it and help, then I guess he doe. Just have him judge the situation appropriately so he is giving as little or as much information needed to get them to cooperate with him.
- Kat: She's undermined Otis twice now. She changed votes without telling him which felt underhanded. She's also got that VIP card now which means she will be building up an exceptional arsenal each day now if left unchecked. Not to mention she wants that riotshield. Couple that with her lab coat which can hold more items she is a huge threat to Otis. If anyone is capable of taking Otis on it may be her. Hopefully these are just paranoid concerns and the two will get along till the end, but Otis has to be ready for a scenario in which she turns on him. She also thinks Luke isn't a bad guy or that Ogi is a real threat so she might be pretty freaked by Otis straight up putting them down like dogs.
- If she makes herself vulnerable to Otis I would like to know about it.
- Bijou: Holy shit am I terrified she will fuck up everything. Talking to this girl feels like walking through a minefield. If she gets extracted it will be fantastic for Otis' sanity and mine. Otis told her to give her items to Lexi before she gets extracted so hopefully she does. If she spends the night in Otis' room he will make sure she doesn't fucking murder him, but Lexi said she probably wouldn't even stay if there are 4 people. Her being okay with 3 but not 4 kinda suggests she might've been planning to go 2v1 on Otis in the middle of the night. Hopefully she just explores with Lexi in the courtyard and then gets her extraction come the 4th day. Be prepared for her to do the absolute worst thing possible though.
- Carl: Otis is interested in learning more about him and his father. Their mutual friend as well. Maybe that can be discussed over their inevitable dinner. Like it or not this death game is a job, and Otis is Carl's best hire yet.
- He makes lots of threats towards Lexi and it is certainly not appreciated. You notice the more he threatens Lexi the more willing Otis seems to be to play this death game.
- Alfred: Otis hopes to get some info about the arena out of him before the fight starts. Maybe they will have time to discuss one other thing as well. Really need to start pming this character but was busy rigging the votes and then coming up with a game plan.
