  1. Disaster #143: Gak, Part 2
  2.
  3. >It’s been several hours since you all left the Gak to manifest. You’re not sure how badly it’s grown, but you’re sure it can still be handled. Like the roots of the largest tree, Gak has a source of nutrients, a core if you will. Destroy that, and everything else will die off as well.
  4. Got that freeze spell learned Twilight?
  5. >"You bet, Anon.”
  6. Sweet. Let’s load the chariot.
  7. >Gauntlet, the guard who came with you two earlier, tells us, “Anon, this is even less than what you two had earlier.”
  8. We don’t have enough room on the chariot for an entire wagon of solution, so this giant barrel will have to do. Besides, if the plan works, this’ll be fine.
  9. >You head outside the tree house, Twilight uses her magic to load the chariot, and you, her, and the guards head off strait to Canterlot.
  10. >Hours pass, but you all eventually make it to the borders of Canterlot.
  11. >In disbelief, Twilight says to herself, “Sweet Celestia. No”
  12. >As you all enter, you see the Gak. It’s spread across almost all of Canterlot. The entire location is covered in it’s now multicolored goop, glowing brightly in the night sky.
  13. >The faint song of the Gak can be heard from the distance.
  14. >"It’s Gak, Gak, Gak…It’s Gak, Gak, Gak…”
  15. >It makes the hairs on your back rise.
  16. >The dark silhouettes of engulfed ponies are absolutely everywhere. The only exceptions are a few glowing gak coated foals that are playing with the putty, seemingly unaware of what’s happened.
  17. >A purple gakified pegasus foal begins to fly near us.
  18. >“That poor innocent foal", says Twilight.
  19. She sure looks angry.
  20. >Suddenly, the chariot is hit hard as a massive Gak bubble is shot exploding on its side.
  21. Twilight! Handle those Gak bubbles!
  22. >Twilight begins to aggressively shoot at the bubbles with her magic, exploding most before they come in range. The ones Twilight fail to notice are dodged by the pegasi moving the chariot.
  23. Keep moving. We need to make it to the mountain’s cave.
  24. >Out of nowhere, a massive tentacle of Gak breaks through the bottom of the chariot, causing the whole thing to break apart.
  25. >Time slows down as you, Twilight, and Gauntlet fall from the sky. The pegasi, try to come after you all, but the gak engulfs them in midair.
  26. TWILIGHT!?
  27. >Before anyone can collide to the Gak covered ground, Twilight uses her teleportation spell, and in a flash of light, you find yourself, Twilight, the guard, and the barrel of solution, safely on the ground of an alley not too far off.
  28. Through your huffs for air you proclaim, "Thank Celestia."
  29. >You glomp Twilight aggressively.
  30. THANK GOODNESS I HAVE YOU TWILIGHT! My whole life was flashing before my eyes.
  31. >“How was it?”
  32. Fabulous…except for a few moments.
  33. >“Floam?”
  34. Exactly. Doesn’t matter though. Let’s keep moving.
  35. >Gauntlet tries to walk into the streets, but I pull him back as I notice the foals surveying the streets in alert fear.
  36. >“What", asks the guard.
  37. We can’t go through the streets. Didn’t you notice we were only attacked after that pegasus noticed us? We need to go stealth mode. Do you know if there are any stores that sell paint?
  38. >“Uh, yeah. Prime Coatings; He sells paint.”
  39. Take us to his house.
  40. >If you paid Twilight, she’d be getting a raise right now. You three teleport from point to point hiding at every point you three can until eventually you sneak into the window of the building.
  41. >“Thank goodness we’re here, all that teleporting was exhausting”
  42. Grab a can, and cover yourself in paint.
  43. >You pick up a bucket of blue paint, and dump it over your head, leading by example.
  44. >Twilight goes green, Gauntlet goes orange, and in case the barrel draws attention, you also slathered it in blue to match yourself.
  45. >“We’re not glowing though", say the guard.
  46. Everything’s glowing. We’ll be bathed in light. They won’t notice.
  47. >With the barrel in your arms, you three slowly exit the house.
  48. >You pray to your chosen deity this works.
  49. >A unicorn foal walks past you three, paying no mind whatsoever.
  50. Booyah.
  51. >Suddenly, she looks back at you with a suspicious scowl.
  52. Uh…sure is Gak today. Gotta love that Gak. Gakitty Gak, Gak, Gak.
  53. >The unicorn continues walking.
  54. Come on guys. Let’s head to the mountain.
  55. >You guys go full out Assassins Creed, non-suspiciously strolling through the town until you all eventually see the cave’s entrance at the horizon.
  56. >The infinite “Gak, Gak, Gak”, gets louder and louder as you all reach the cave.
  57. >Seemed like smooth sailing, but it can never be that way for you.
  58. >Without warning, you are stopped by a massive pink gelatinous creature that grows out of the Gak covered grass.
  59. >It slowly forms arms, and a single eye, but no legs, only weird tentacle like appendages.
  60. >It yells in a soul churning tone. “GAAAAAAAAAKOOOOOOID!!!”
  61. Sweet Celestia!
  62. >The Gakoid stretches an arm to attack us, but Gauntlet stops it with his magic. It begins to stretch around the magic.
  63. >“Gauntlet!”
  64. >“Keep moving", he yells.
  65. >You and Twilight leave Gauntlet to fend for himself, as you two run into the Gak covered cave.
  66. >“Hurry Anon!”
  67. I have 150 pounds of solution to carry, DON’T NAG ME!
  68. >Twilight takes the barrel with her magic and you continue to run at a much faster pace.
  69. >You look behind to see the Gakoid loudly chasing you and Twilight from behind. Gauntlet’s silhouette is seen in its stomach.
  70. >Twilight grabs a large boulder and blocks the path, but you can hear it slowly breaking down the boulder. We only have a few minutes at best.
  71. >“It’s Gak, Gak, Gak…It’s Gak, Gak, Gak.”
  72. Come on, we’re almost there.
  73. >You and Twilight eventually close in and finally see the large root of Gak.
  74. >It’s even bigger and more tentically then you remember.
  75. >Knowing that you two are here to stop it, Gak unleashes one of its tentacles to attack.
  76. Just as planned.
  77. >You run forward, and jump in front of the tentacle to prevent it from going after Twilight.
  78. >It wraps your torso, crushing your ribs and begins to slowly engulf you.
  79. >You can feel the ooze slowly climbing up your pant leg. But before you completely lose your innocence, Twilight drives a spear made of frozen solution, straight through the gelatinous being into its visibly darker core.
  80. >It shrieks in agony.
  81. >“Bingo.”
  82.
  83. >From the hole of its inside to its outside and all across the exterior from the cave outward, it begins to turn black, and breaks apart into small bits.
  84. Way to cut it close Twilight. That stuff was like, three inches away from my a-
  85. >“CELESTIA!”
  86. Twilight rushes to Celestia’s body, visible under the rubble of hardened Gak.
  87. >“SILVER”, proclaims Gauntlet.
  88. >Gauntlet notices Silver the guard, and helps him up.
  89. >Twilight nuzzles at Celestia, as her eyes slowly open.
  90. >“Celestia, are you okay.”
  91. She coughs up a bit of Gak before speaking.
  92. >“Nothing that therapy can’t fix. I’m very proud of you two.”
  93. Thanks Celestia.
  94. >Twilight hugs Celestia joyfully, tears rolling down her eyes.
  95. >Disaster 143: Gak: Successfully relinquished.
  96. >“…Why are you covered in paint?"
