  96. —— FULL NAME
  97. 곽배신 / kwak baesin.
  98. meaning: it seems like baesin's parents prepared for their only child's fate, because the name literally means betrayal, or things relating to it. it's sad, really, because of all the things revolving the topic that she's had to go through, and sometimes she believes this is all because of her parents' choices (which most of her problems sprout from their mouths) and wishes that she was named something different. "maybe areum instead," baesin would bicker to them through the phone. "that way i could be beautiful instead of back-stabbed."

  100. —— AGE
  101. 22 years old.
  102.
  103. —— BIRTHDATE
  104. september 13th, 1995.

  106. —— BIRTHPLACE
  107. mokpo, south korea.
  108.
  109. —— HOMETOWN
  110. the center of mokpo, located in jeolla district.
  111. seoul; has a home there for business purposes.
  112.
  113. —— FAMILY BACKGROUND
  114. born into wealth, kwak baesin was automatically doomed for disaster. as said earlier, it seems like her parents predicted the future by naming her 'betrayal', but they claim they didn't think about it much when they were young. baesin surely does believe differently though, and there's multiple reasons as to why: because everyone she meets tends to screw her over and smile about it as if the damage they'd done was purely coincidental. and it had all started with park jimin. known to the media as an 'adorable flower boy', young and naive baesin thought he stuck to that image, but after moving in to the house next to him, her life became pure hell. since her parents were wealthy business owners and jimin was a prince, they were forced to 'try and become friends'. that plan quickly failed though, as jimin didn't like that his father was too close to baesin's mother, so instead of being rude to the adults, he took it out on the young female. of course baesin actually had nothing to do with it, nor did she understand since jimin wouldn't talk to her about why he was upset unless he was picking on her, but she stopped caring and eventually jimin got over it as well. that was when the two began to talk. it turned out that rich families weren't the only thing they had in common - both wanted freedom and had an urge to live their lives the way they wanted to. that's why jimin wanted the throne at least. he wanted to change up the rules and the way the world worked. he hated that the status of a person would change the way people think of them automatically. for example, since he's a prince, people expect him to act so. hell, even baesin expected him to be nice when they first met. but if he weren't a prince, people wouldn't say he should act a certain way. they'd mostly just keep their words to themselves. either way, that was partially what baesin wished as well. she'd hoped that if she ever had the chance to take the throne that no one would think differently of her. she'd still be cranky and sassy little baesin, just with a title in front of her name. when she explained this to jimin, he laughed, and because it was the first time he'd done so around her, she felt special. that was even the same night he'd introduced her to a special spot he liked to go to (a stargazing park) where they had long conversations that were probably meaningless to him, but baesin would remember every word that spilled from his mouth.
  115.
  116. however, just like all stories, the good parts have an ending. fast forward eight years, where baesin was finally eighteen. her parents and her grew a closer bond, and so did she with jimin. she'd seen him almost everyday (even though they were only supposed to live in seoul temporarily for work reasons, they decided it was useless to move back to mokpo when business was doing well) and the conversations never got boring. they'd give details about their days, and sometimes they just had fallouts where they ignored each other for a couple of days, but in the end they still had a love for their friendship that was worn on their shoulders. this is around the same time baesin had developed a small crush for jimin, but she refused to admit it or confess because, after all, it was jimin. he wasn't just 'prince jimin next door' anymore, he was 'best friend for eight years' prince jimin, and that made a complete difference. but this isn't where the fallout happened either. remember when it was mentioned that baesin's relationship with her parents was finally being restored? well, that didn't last long. at first, it was perfect. her parents would come over every two weeks and just spend a day with her, and it was, in baesin's opinion, amazing. they'd catch up with each other, watch movies, and just have a good time. however, things changed within a matter of time. after she became eighteen, when they'd came to the house to visit baesin (they were rarely home because a majority of their job was promoting - so they moved from country to country throughout south korea promoting different brands and items) jimin's parents had asked to see them for a moment. both teens were confused back then. baesin wasn't sure as to why jimin's parents were in a conference instead of on a couch laughing together, and jimin wasn't sure as to why his father and baesin's mother lingered around in the room when they were done. despite having so many questions, none of them were answered by both parties. instead, baesin's mother and father smiled as they exited the park household, and the trio quickly returned to their own afterwards, where they sat at the table with baesin and spilled the news to her. kwak jichul and kwak si-ub were to go overseas for the next two years to promote [a brand] sponsored by the park family, and their daughter, kwak baesin, was to stay in south korea and continue to do work there that her parents couldn't do while overseas.
  117.
  118. upset, (who wouldn't be?) jimin and baesin immediately met up at their meeting spot that night. baesin continuously yelled at jimin, asking him if he knew, and if so, why didn't he talk to his parents to prevent baesin's from being away for so long. jimin only shrugged, and though he too seemed out of it, baesin didn't think to question it. instead she continued to spit out harsh words, calling him selfish, spoiled, and a 'fucking dick' for watching everything go on but refusing to do anything about it. that was it for the male though. at that point, he'd gotten angry with baesin, and he was already angry at the situation, so he spat out his thoughts: "you're right. all i do is sit back and watch things become ruined in front of me. but what the fuck am i supposed to do? how could i prevent you from being angry? how could i prevent my parents who basically ignore me unless i'm being a 'good little prince' from sending yours away? how could i prevent my father from hooking up with your fucking whore of a mother?" baesin didn't know what to say in response, so she slapped him as hard as she could, and said the official words that changed their friendship ("this is why you’re never going to be the king, park jimin. i never want to fucking see you again.") to sworn enemies. she couldn't believe jimin of accusing her mother of cheating, let alone being promiscuous. but baesin tried to act tough despite her situation. she went home that night and cried until her eyes were swollen, not speaking another word to jimin. but there's a saying that goes "when one door closes, another one opens," and it just so happens that one did. the following day, while on her way to mokpo, a herd of people began crowding her path, so she got out her car to see what the fuss was about. ironically, the people were swarming around the one and only prince taewon, who quickly ran into the nearest secretive building, which just so happened to be ‘KWAK ENTERPRISES’. baesin didn’t know at the time that he was sent by his father, and instead thought he was there to speak with her parents about their upcoming trip to america, so she quickly ran after him.
  119.
  120. instead of approaching him as mannerly as she should’ve, baesin began interrogating him as soon as he reached the elevator (she was quick to run after him, and surprisingly they’d managed to be alone together). baesin didn’t hesitate to ask him questions, though. “why’re you here? haven’t you already asked my parents to do enough for you? why don’t you ever let them have a break and spend time with me? how can you become a king soon yet run away from all your problems? you’re no better than jimin.” and taewon, who was listening carefully to her had finally recognized who she was. he didn’t understand what she was talking about and had explained it to her that he wasn’t in charge of choices like that (he was forced to answer her since he stupidly let her stand beside the elevator buttons and trap them in) but he could make it slightly better. confused as to what he meant, she let him go and followed behind him once they’d reached the top floor, which was where her parents offices were. when they walked in, the room was busily being packed and stored with new things — baesin’s things (she scoffed) — but nonetheless, her parents were still there. that was when taewon gave baesin a petty smile as she was excused out of the room, and hours later, he left after handing her a small contract signed by her parents. it was official: the kwak family had joined the royal status due to such “outstanding” work. however, this didn’t help baesin one bit. why? because at the bottom of the (hand-written) agreement, there were tiny words stated by lee taewon himself: “the original owners of KWAK ENTERPRISES will continue to do overseas business not just for promotions by the park family, but now (in addition), all families of royal status across south korea. as for businesses that need to be dealt with in the original location of the company, it shall be managed by the blood daughter of the enterprise owners (kwak jichul and kwak si-ub) known as kwak baesin. she will run the enterprise until she bares children in the future who can take her place, or until her parents have retired from oversea promotions.”

  122.
  123. —— FAMILY MEMBERS
  124. 곽지출 / kwak jichul: mother (former 환지출).
  125. married to si-ub, jichul — name literally meaning spending — is a hard-working woman who works in the field of business and product expansion. at first, she didn't want to marry her husband, (considering that they knew nothing of each other; they were going to be married without seeing each other until the wedding) but after the ceremony and uniting of the two, they quickly got along. they had similar ideas about what to do with their (now co-shared) companies, and eventually their great work together earned them the title of being the 'princess and prince of mokpo'.
  126.
  127. 곽수입 / kwak si-ub: father.
  128. husband of successful female business-woman kwak jichul, the entire family seems to have a thing for names with meanings. si-ub's just happens to mean 'earning', which was why he was forced into the business career by his own father. si-ub enjoyed it though; found enjoyment in the career path, and it seemed to further after marrying jichul. with her skill in easily expanding and getting the word out about anything you hand to her, it's no doubt that the king (taewon's father) got the word about si-ub and his work, thanks to jichul. because of this, the king got closer to the family, and eventually decided to officially inaugurate si-ub and jichul, sending his son off to do so for him.
  129.
  130.
  131. —— LIKES
  132. ⋏ (1) bickering / 咯.
  133. baesin actually enjoys arguing. being a virgo, she tends to continue to state arguments until she's bored or is proven she's not wrong. it's something she does when she's tired or just looking for entertainment, but this trait also leads her to losing friends easily. it's like once she starts to argue, she knows her heart will be broken at the end of it, but enjoys the pain anyway, since she's "so used to it." this isn’t always a good thing though. since she can’t always keep her mouth shut, eventually flies will enter it.
  134.
  135. ⋏ (2) on-going conversations / 说.
  136. despite tending to piss people off easily, baesin also loves talking to certain beings normally. she doesn't like conversations that are short or useless; either give her a full conversation about the galaxy and thoughts about the universe or don't even bat a lash at her. just as much as she loves talking, she loves listening. it’s jusf fascinating to her how much a person can express through their voice — they could panic, be defensive, yell, or maybe the sound could just crack, and give everything away, which is a key necessity to befriending kwak baesin. she cannot be friends with people who she can’t understand.
  137.
  138. ⋏ (3) isolation / 独.
  139. perhaps being alone most of her life (or at least after her friendship with jimin fell through) helped baesin in more than one way. not only did it teach her to make walls of concrete instead of wood, but having her trust broken more than once also showed her that it's better to be alone. that way no one screws anyone over, and she's left with time to think by herself, which is more helpful than it sounds. with her mind running races throughout the day, baesin often enjoys being in the silence. she goes to her and jimin's old meet-up spot (which is explained in her love for nature) and plugs her headphones in, listening to the soft sound of orchestra flow through her ears, because that's what the symphony of the stars is supposed to sound like.
  140.
  141. ⋏ (4) revenge / 还.
  142. there's an old quote that's been said and heard many times that would describe baesin completely. "fool me once, shame on you." and that's absolutely correct. there's nothing she hates more than being wrong, or losing trust with someone, so when it's over with, if you screwed with her, expect some heavy backlash. despite this, it's not completely surrounded by the idea of her enjoying watching people suffer. it's the feeling of it. the feeling of knowing that the person who fucked her over is now suffering just as much as she did -- they're going through the process just like she did: heartbreak, contemplation, and the feeling of losing -- is simply satisfying to the young girl.
  143.
  144. ⋏ (5) nature / 性.
  145. just as min yoongi enjoys the shore, kwak baesin enjoys nature. not really the ocean, but preferably the park instead. it's a specific one in mokpo that she goes to late at night that used to be her go-to spot with jimin. there's something about it that's different than the shitty ten-minutes-to-make parks that are everywhere else; the one in mokpo is beautiful and has cherry blossoms, and if you lay in a specific spot during a specific time of night, the sky becomes so clear that the stars become drawings created by the moon. visiting this place made baesin fall for nature, specifically the sky, and realize that if she didn't have jimin, at least she'd have the moon.
  146.
  147. ⋏ (6) park jimin / 男.
  148. it’s no surprise here, or at least it shouldn’t be. even after their fallout (which was a bunch of back and forth “i don’t know’s”) baesin still does have an unspoken liking for jimin. they don’t contact each other anymore, but it’s hard to avoid her ex — would she say he’s an ex? — when he’s all over the news or his name comes out every mouth on every corner. it makes her feel trapped, actually. like if she were to be with someone else he’d find out immediately and automatically ask her if it’s the path she chooses to walk on, which is why she sort of dislikes him as well. sure, he’s nice company and understands her and says all the right things, but sometimes he feels like a brother more than a crush. but, then again, there’s those moments where she goes to the coffee shop they hung out at or the river they played in as kids and it just feels so nostalgic, so what truly can she do about the heart-pain park jimin?
  149.
  150.
  151. —— DISLIKES
  152. ⋎ (1) not having trust / 孚.
  153. since most of her dramatic past involves trust and being trusted, it should be somewhat obvious as to why baesin doesn't like it when she doesn't have someone's trust, or when she doesn't trust someone. all she's ever really wanted to have in life is someone that'll believe her no matter what, and vice versa. but this might be slightly impossible considering that after her incident with jimin, she's put up walls around her heart and doesn't see anyone getting through them until she finds a way into theirs. it's more of a "i'll trust you once you trust me" situation with baesin, to sum it up.
  154.
  155. ⋎ (2) being told no / 衰.
  156. who likes being rejected? maybe she got the attitude from running her own company for a few years now, but baesin absolutely hates the word no when it's referring to her. she doesn't take rejection or denial easily, and (call her immature if you want) she'll most likely complain about it for a few more days after it even happens.
  157.
  158. ⋎ (3) leaving people / 惟.
  159. as much as she hates being left behind, baesin hates leaving people. there’s just something about attaching yourself to someone then breaking things apart between each other that gets her upset. that’s why even though her and jimin ended things roughly, she took it so hard that she ended up lashing out at taewon. it wasn’t that she’d never been away from someone before — it was that jimin left her so quick that it made her question if they were ever truly friends to begin with.
  160.
  161. ⋎ (4) being sad / 心.
  162. this sort of goes with leaving people. she hates this just as much, because being sad (to her) is a sign of weakness, and she was raised and taught to be anything but weak. because of this, baesin will try and hold back her tears as much as she can. she waits to show them until she’s left alone with only herself to talk to, because she should be the only one who sees her being weak.
  163.
  164. ⋎ (5) mixed feelings / 混.
  165. since she plans to take the throne, baesin doesn’t like it when her hormones get in the way and her heart acts before her mind does. normally she’s more of a “plan it before doing it” type of girl, so she doesn’t enjoy when things go out of order and she can’t properly control the decisions she makes.
  166.
  167. ⋎ (6) stress / 强.
  168. there’s no one (that baesin knows of) who enjoys stress. it’s just that with her, it gets to her a bit harder than it does for most people. because of stress, baesin tends to cry more or contemplate if she really deserves to be the owner of KWAK ENTERPRISES (Kor.) like her parents want her to be. normally when she was stressed she had jimin to rant to, but without him, she’s forced to keep her feelings locked up to herself.
  169.
  170.
  171. —— FEARS
  172. HER PARENTS /
  173. shes afraid of disappointing them after they’ve done so much for her.
  174.
  175. BEING FORGOTTEN /
  176. it’s a thought that comes to mind way too often, but she knows it’s not possible.
  177.
  178. (DRAMATIC) CHANGES /
  179. baesin knows that sometimes new is better, and she’s okay with it, as long as it’s not anything too different.
  180.
  181. LOSING PEOPLE
  182. she doesn’t like leaving people behind or being left behind, and has major anxiety over it.
  183.
  184. VIOLENCE
  185. the thought that you don’t know everyone around you or what they could do is terrifying to baesin.
  186.
  187. PEOPLE WHO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT HER
  188. if everyone knew every little thing about her, baesin doesn’t know how she’d survive.

  227.
  228. —— ANXIOUS:
  229. baesin will observe her surroundings. it's somewhat a comforting feeling for her - it lets her know the world is bigger than the place she's in at the moment, so there's no reason to feel trapped in one area. another thing that she does / that tends to happy is her hands. if she's nervous or unsure about something, her hands begin to get sweaty, which is why she also always carries around tissues in her purse. plus, she's a bit of a neat freak.
  230.
  231. —— TERRIFIED:
  232. she'll freeze in place if she's scared. it's a reaction she gets from her mother, actually. she doesn't speak, barely blinks, and doesn't move if she's frightened. of course she doesn't stay still the entire time - she does start to function normally again - it just happens a few minutes later. this is because of her late situational reactions, which is slower than her normal reflex.
  233.
  234. —— HAPPY:
  235. when she's happy, baesin's eyes naturally tend to light up more. her pupils get bigger and her eyes will have a bigger smile than her teeth. even people who don't like baesin will have to agree that she's cutest when she's happy because she resembles a puppy almost. just without the tail wagging, and without as much fur.
  236.
  237. —— ANGRY:
  238. as if she doesn't roll her eyes enough. when upset, baesin's full of eye rolls, scoffs, and deep sighs. she doesn't like yelling but she'll do it if she feels threatened, so make no mistake, the tiny girl with an attitude is one of the few who can actually fight back. but she won't raise her voice automatically. having dealt with many people throughout her life and career, baesin's learned to keep calm until it's absolutely necessary to lose one's shit, so that's exactly what she does.
  239.
  240. —— SAD:
  241. maybe baesin learned this trait from namjoon, but when she's sad she actually will not show it until she's absolutely left alone with her bed and pillows. she doesn't like crying or beside sad because it shows her weak side, and she definitely doesn't need anyone to see that if she's busy chasing after the crown. an example of her remaining poker-faced in the worst of situations would also be when she cut jimin off with a straight face, but went home to cry. you see, baesin is a little weak, but who isn't when you're holding the weight of the world on your shoulders?

  281.
  282. —— INTELLIGENCE ∴ 8/10
  283. maybe she's not smart with other people, but when it comes down to situations she can plan out, baesin's got it in the bag. considering the fact that she's been running her own business in korea for four years, if she weren't smart the company would've corrupted right after her parents left.
  284.
  285. —— PRACTICALITY ∴ 4/10
  286. can you blame her? a bad habit of her after being betrayed by jimin and taewon is over-thinking hard situations she's put in. and when she over-thinks, she becomes impractical. you wouldn't even think she's the child of jichul and si-ub.
  287.
  288. —— INTEGRITY ∴ 7/10
  289. baesin will definitely stand up for something she believes in. as shown in her background, she will openly confront anyone, but when being questioned about it, that's where the impracticality comes in. this can be shown in her interrogation.
  290.
  291. —— AGILITY ∴ 3/10
  292. her skill is in business, not body. baesin's frame may be small and fit, but she's not very good at running away. if she tried, she'd most likely trip and fall on her way to wherever she's going. another reason she couldn't be the murderer, she assumes. she's not quick, and definitely not sneaky with her body.
  293.
  294. —— LOYALTY ∴ 7/10
  295. when so many people screw you over, there's no one you can really trust anymore. baesin learned that, and accepted it after she lost hope in taewon and jimin. however, when she does trust someone, she will be completely devoted to them even if they're just friends. that's how she was with jimin, too.
  296.
  297. —— HONESTY ∴ 5/10
  298. she may be a little bit skeptical and straightforward, but baesin will openly tell someone the truth, unless, as stated before, she feels like she's being attacked or it's life or death.

  300. —— RELIABILITY ∴ 6/10
  301. similar to honesty, baesin's once again pretty truthful. the only disadvantage is that she's not honest to people she doesn't trust, which makes since if you know her story. speaking of the saying, that's another thing about baesin. she's a firm believer in the 'walk in someone else's shoes before you say the size' quote, meaning she always tries to think from everyone else's perspective before judging them.
  302.
  303. —— SLYNESS ∴ 4/10
  304. well, not all of her traits are good. baesin's not good at keeping her mouth shut. she'll ramble, and (sometimes) while in the process, she'll end up spilling the secret or something close to it. all in all, she's not very good at keeping quiet about things because she likes to talk, plus who doesn't crumble under pressure?

  343. —— YOU’RE A SUSPECT. HOW DO YOU REACT?
  344. “i’m a suspect?” baesin lifts an eyebrow, and when the interrogator nods a devilish smirk appears across her face. “i see why detectives are cheaper nowadays.”
  345.
  346. “princess baesin, please just cooperate and answer our questions as ordered. no sarcasm or witty remarks,” the interrogator says boredly. “did you kill lee taewon?”
  347.
  348. “do you have anything better to do?”
  349.
  350. “princess.”
  351.
  352. “i’m a lot of things,” baesin sighs, eyes focusing everywhere except on the man across from her. “i’m crazy, i’m smart, i’m manipulative, and i’m deceiving,” she admits, then looks directly in his eyes confidently. “but i’m no murderer.”
  353.
  354.
  355. —— WHAT PROOF IS THERE THAT YOU DIDN’T KILL HIM?
  356. (on the night of taewon’s murder, anyone could’ve told you that baesin was drunk. she was intoxicated to the point where she couldn’t stand on her own feet for that long. and sure, a couple of minutes before taewon’s death baesin was seen arguing with him, but afterwards a person was said to have seen her disappear with min yoongi off to somewhere else before the after party.)
  357.
  358. “look, i hold many grudges. many. but taewon and i... sure, our relationship wasn’t close considering he sent my parents away for years without my consent, but old matters are just that; old. so there’s no need for me to put him six feet under. as far as proof? there isn't any. but is there proof that i might've killed him as well? as far as you and the cowards behind cameras and screens know, i've been with taewon once. as far your files know, i met up with him another time. but choose what you want to believe. in the end everyone i've met ends up the same way: being a backstabber.”
  359.
  360. the detective smirks. since they didn’t have much time left to question baesin, he knew if he asked this final question — the one that would give it up for baesin — she’d fall like a jenga tower. “last but not least, princess baesin,” he starts, and she lifts an eyebrow out of boredom. “what is your relation to park jimin—” baesin rolls her eyes. “...and min yoongi?”
  361.
  362.
  363. —— WHAT DO YOU VALUE THE MOST?
  364. “i don’t see why this is important. i could be lying, so what purpose does it serve?” she asks, and the interrogator rolls his eyes. baesin lifts her arms in a surrendering position. “reputation, recognition, the throne, family, love, then money. it goes in that order the more you think about me, and the way i roll. if my reputation is bad, more people will become interested in me and my life, so i have to keep the people happy by keeping silent. and recognition is almost similar. if people recognize me as the true wench i am, how would i ever be able to take the next item: the throne?”
  365.
  366. “princ—”
  367.
  368. “my parents worked hard to get me where i am. they said that if i took the throne, they'd come back to me. to our home. so it's difficult for me. i'm up against so many other competitors and my parents keep pushing that i be their perfect little princess so much... what am i supposed to do? if i don't live up to their expectations, they'll abandon me. if i do, my friends will abandon me. none of the people i affiliate myself with would want to be friends with me when i become queen. they don't want to be murdered for just knowing me, so they'll hide themselves and act as if i never existed. so yeah. now you see why i put them in this order? because no matter what i want to do with my life, i'll be disappointing someone just as much as they've disappointed me. and sometimes —— not often, but sometimes —— i wish they'd all just disappear.”
  369.
  370.
  371. —— WHAT CAN YOU NOT AFFORD TO LOSE?
  372. “out of those options? family, i guess.” baesin spits boredly. her eyes drift off to everything around her suddenly, as if she's sick of being in the room. as if the walls were whispering words to her that said she'd been there too long. “if i lost my parents, i feel like i would've lost everything. yes, they ignore me and use me as if i'm a bank account instead of a human being, but with them, it's hard to hold grudges. i'm their child, and without them i'd be nowhere. i wouldn't be in line for the crown, i wouldn't be the reason they've gotten closer together, and i definitely wouldn't be in this position right now."
  373.
  374.
  375. —— WHICH SIN ARE YOU?
  376. envy —— "when a person lacks another's superior quality or possession and either desires it or wishes the other lacks it." the literal definition of envy is what perfectly describes baesin. she used to be kind to people but stopped when they weren't kind to her, so now she has the odd desire to please everyone. why is this? because something possesses baesin that tells her she needs to live up to everyone's standards or she's just not living at all. this thing that's controlling her? family. and the cowards who want to say their opinion while staying closeted behind a screen. that's right — after being born as the child of wealthy business people who were noticed by the king, baesin never got to have a normal childhood. she had to play with little prince jimin as a child, she had to study business and know how to save money when she was ten, all because she was the child of money-makers. so why does the envious sin represent baesin? because she wants want others have: freedom.

  423. ⌞ RELATIONSHIP WITH PARTNER.
  424. ( PLATONIC ) though they do have a genuine liking for each other, nothing completely serious has happened between the two. they exchange small pecks every once in a while, send cute little good morning and night texts, but that’s really the farthest they’ve gone. they’ve gone on short dates too, but it gets quickly interrupted due to business matters from both sides. their relationship honestly isn’t anything special, either. baesin wouldn’t be upset if he left her for someone else, or vice versa since they really aren’t that close. they tell each other secrets (baesin spills more than namjoon does since she’s so talkative), but they don’t exactly completely trust each other yet. or at least baesin doesn’t trust namjoon, since he’s quite closed off, and baesin hasn’t opened up completely since the jimin incident.
  425.
  426. ( REASONING ) the pair tend to be affectionate with each other as an act, actually. namjoon’s mother, mrs. kim, agreed that she’d close in on a deal with baesin’s company if she went on one date with namjoon, so the girl accepted it immediately. when they did go out together, it was awkward and felt like an interrogation on her part. namjoon kept asking baesin about KWAK ENTERPRISES and her family background, and though she’d give him answers in return, she felt uncomfortable. thankfully, the date ended sooner, and mrs. kim did keep her end of the bargain, but made another deal with baesin that if she kept seeing namjoon, she’d increase the percentage of earnings KWAK ENTERPRISES would get, so baesin almost immediately accepted the offer. it was in between their small set up questionnaire dates that baesin actually found a liking for namjoon though, and she assumed vice versa as well since he would start to talk to her about personal things more often. so in a nutshell, they’re somewhat affectionate originally because it was slightly forced, but now because their relationship is slowly deepening.
  427.
  428.
  429. ⌞ DESCRIBE YOUR PARTNER.
  430. kim namjoon first seemed like he was created by the gods when baesin met him. he was good-looking, but his expression stayed the same throughout. his personality seemed completely different though. he was sweet, and something about his secretive and closed off persona had attracted baesin to him. not just that, but he was hot, too. she automatically wanted to know more about him, but not for any romantic or ‘i want to date him’ reason. you see, baesin only talks to people because she’s forced, or sees them as a benefit. that’s why people mistake her easily — they think she’s a sweet girl who’d never hurt a fly unless it spat poison — but that’s where they’re absolutely wrong. baesin is actually very manipulative, and you could assume she learned this from jimin. their drama didn’t automatically stop after he sent her parents away, but that’s a story for another time. back to namjoon, she talked to him because he was entering the competition for the throne. baesin even went as far as using her position as owner of KWAK ENTERPRISES to find out things that were even hidden from the media about him. of course she did this secretly and quietly so he wouldn’t find out, but all good things must come to an end. another thing about namjoon’s personality — behind his silence is intelligence. he knew baesin wasn’t attracted to him from the beginning but keeps the act up to find out more about her. when a woman can’t keep quiet, namjoon will.
  431.
  432. he listens to her blabbering and ranting all the time, taking mental notes (not just about baesin — about everyone he runs in to) for future reference. but why would he go after her specifically of all people? because, like her name means, baesin’s destined to be betrayed. is it really possible that her parents built up a worldwide known empire that quick without any help? anyone with a brain would know that’s not possible. when KWAK ENTERPRISES had became known to korea, namjoon targeted them, and after digging deep, he found out valuable information: kwak si-ub, as well as park jimin’s father, both partnered together and stole money from taewon’s father secretly. not only did this expand KWAK ENTERPRISES, but it was the same reason the deal between the park’s and kwak’s sealed so quickly. park jimin’s father knew that if kwak si-ub was willing to steal money from royal blood, he was willing to partner up with the parks. if not, he would snitch and toss the entire family in jail, saying it was a one-man’s job. as to what this has to do with baesin — well, anyone born into a family of secrets has to have their own. that’s why namjoon waits to attack by listening. he’s quiet and is there for baesin at any given time because he wants to find out more secrets behind her business and eventually expose it. how does this benefit him? because this was before the death of lee taewon, and he wanted to take down those who wanted the throne one by one, even if it killed him. (and taewon, of course.)
  433.
  434.
  435. ⌞ HOW YOU MET.
  436. when the news spread around that a commoner was competing for the crown, baesin was only slightly surprised. after her workers constantly talked about him, that’s when she got interested. using her ability to keep a poker face, she had researched more about him before meeting him face to face at his (mother’s extremely small) company. she originally intended to speak to mrs. kim to close a deal together until namjoon walked in. he was tall, handsome, and kept the same face throughout their entire pleasantries, and while the two didn’t see each other as anything but business partners, mrs. kim smiles and recommended they go out together on a date. when namjoon and baesin both kindly declined, mrs. kim whispered something into her son’s ear and he left the room with a sigh after while mrs. kim said she’d close the deal between KWAK ENTERPRISES and KIJO INT. if baesin got closer to namjoon and opened him up a bit. of course she declined again until money was eventually put on the table. then it came by like a breeze. she texted namjoon and invited him out; next thing you know they were on dates and he was invited to company parties with her, and mrs. kim was happy about it. namjoon in the other hand never really said anything. he was just there for baesin, keeping his mouth shut like a fly, until the poison is warm enough to spit out.
  437.
  438.
  439. ⌞ WHY ISN’T HE THE MURDERER?
  440. baesin actually believes namjoon might be. he’s smart, and he could easily start a chain reaction of mishaps, which could be why almost everyone who’s a suspect had done something to taewon before his death. but if she truly did have to say why it’s not him, baesin would admit that namjoon doesn’t seem like the type of person to kill a man. namjoon, however, wouldn’t say the same about baesin. either way, with the amount of brains and plans namjoon has, there would be no need to go as far as murdering taewon.
  441.
  442.
  443. ⌞ DID YOUR PARTNER CHANGE AFTER THE BALL?
  444. not significantly. baesin did notice namjoon tended to become more tense though, and she tried to help soothe him but he would just ignore her or tell her it was his own problems, so only he could solve them. of course this made baesin suspicious of him considering he only acted this way after the death of taewon, but everyone changed after it. perhaps it’s because no one expected it, but namjoon knows self control, which was why baesin sent in a report to the police saying she believed he was a suspect.
  445.
  446.
  447. ⌞ RELATIONSHIP WITH THE DECEASED KING.
  448. baesin met him twice. the first time was coincidental — she wanted to stop him from sending her parents to do oversea promotions, but taewon screwed her over purely for the fun of it and the rest is history. the second time she met him was at the masquerade ball where she watched him closely. every room he went in (minus the bathroom) she went in too. why? because she wanted to find out what he desired the most so she could take it away from him like he did her parents. however, she quickly stopped following him after being interrupted with a request from min yoongi, and no one else saw baesin or the pale boy for the rest of the night.
  449.
  450.
  451. ⌞ RELATIONSHIP WITH SUSPECTS.
  452. JEONGGUK.
  453. (“ never seen a toddler so upset. ”)
  454. baesin’s heard of busan’s bad boy before, and it actually made her laugh a little because she’d never think he, a chubby faced kid, would ever be caught up in so much drama. either way, this is as much as she knows about him. she’s heard his name and seen his face, but they’d never talked before.
  455.
  456. TAEHYUNG.
  457. (“ he’s a good thing gone away. ”)
  458. the man who must have a secret (since baesin’s learned that looks can be deceiving) actually does hold one with the girl. when baesin was nineteen, she ran into the charming boy and slightly fell for him. they hung out for a little bit; drinking and laughing as if they lived a normal life, but that was about it. they parted ways after, but promised to meet up again eventually.
  459.
  460. JIMIN.
  461. (“ may all bad things rot and die. ”)
  462. this one should be obvious: baesin absolutely despises this boy. he played with her heart and family, and even though she had nothing to do with the grudges he held, he attacked her for it. after the incident, she doesn’t like hearing his name, seeing his face, or even being in the same area as him. they have a deep hatred for one another, and baesin regrets ever moving in beside him.
  463.
  464. NAMJOON.
  465. (“ he’s an advantage, not a lover. ”)
  466. she thinks he’s sweet, but that’s about it. when she found out a commoner was competing for the crown, baesin wanted to know more about him, which is how they met. she researched him to the core (using her business position to get facts that were hidden from the media about him) until driving up to his company one day to ask if he’d like to collaborate on a project together. though baesin only wanted to know more about the man and his company, apparently namjoon had found a liking for baesin in the process, which was when they began talking for reasons other than business.
  467.
  468. HOSEOK.
  469. (“ he’s as deadly as his past. ”)
  470. the first words that come to mind if you mention his name to her is “hell no.” baesin tries to see the good in people, she really does, but she’s met and heard of hoseok’s father before, so she has a feeling hoseok’s like him, and if he is, then her instincts to stay away from him were true. after all, like father like son, right?
  471.
  472. YOONGI.
  473. (“ her little secret, right? ”)
  474. maybe she’s attracted to the bad boys who look good, but if you say his name baesin will definitely lift her head. maybe they’re each other’s dark little secrets, but when they met, it was purely coincidental. baesin was leaving a party celebrating a new connection she made for the company that would increase pay for everyone who worked under KWAK ENTERPRISES. she was drunk, and, well, she looked hot. yoongi seemed to notice this too (baesin still doesn’t know why he was right outside the restaurant by himself that late at night) and low and behold, they ended up sleeping together. it was never supposed to be mentioned again, however, it seemed that they could never meet sober, so they became friends with benefits. they never pestered each other — they would only call up once in a while and end up tangled in each other’s arms later on — and they didn’t really ask each other personal questions either. it was a win-win situation, and it was also where yoongi was during the after party. as to why no one else can know about the two? well, for one, baesin’s been dating namjoon for a while now, and if he found out, he’d flip. not just that, but because namjoon knows every little secret about baesin while she only knows a couple about him, that couldn’t possibly be good.
  475.
  476. SEOKJIN.
  477. (“ nice guys finish last. ”)
  478. they’ve met quite a couple times before. he was the important connection baesin made to increase pay for her company, but their relationship stays just that. it’s strictly business only, but she doesn’t mind asking him about his day or mental health. after all, if she cut off communication with him completely, he’d most likely back out of their business deal.
  479.
  480.
  481. ⌞ WHO KILLED TAEWON?
  482. park jimin. it has to be — he would do anything to get what he wants, plus mostly everyone in seoul adores him. baesin wouldn’t be surprised if one day she peeled out her window and saw the “good little prince” being carried away in handcuffs. if anything, after that, she’d happily attempt to presuade his parents to hand her over his section of the company. considering that his parents don’t know she hates jimin, and do know she’s pretty good at business management, they most likely would.

  526. —— ARE YOU OKAY WITH BEING THE MURDERER?
  527. yes! though i couldn’t see how she would be, if you add a little twist i’m sure it’ll piece together nicely! after all, she’s not the type of person you’d think would’ve killed taewon, but who knows?

  530. —— SCENE SUGGESTIONS?
  531. — all suspects are gathered together for a group interrogation (?) if that’s possible. and during this time, secrets are spilled.

  534.
  535. — the girls all meet for the first time and it’s super awkward bc not everyone is friendly with each other or the boys yet, so it’s just a bunch of awkward tea sipping and eye contact.
  536.
  537. — secrets don’t stay that way forever. despite saying he wouldn’t spill the beans about her family’s past, maybe namjoon does so under an anonymous name and K.E is close to falling?

  541. hihi! i’m so glad i got to apply for this, my friends recommended it and the plot was nice! i hope you enjoyed my form, and if you have questions or need clarification on anything, message me ofc! also, fun fact: baesin wasn't able to back out of the deal her parents made with taewon because the legal age in south korea is 19, and she technically still wasn't an adult, so her parents decided for her. she also lied in her interrogation. before, she wanted the throne for the reasons stated in her background. after the falling of her friendship with jimin, she wants the throne just so he can't have it. also, jimin did know about his parents sending baesin's away. he was the one who came up with the idea ;) because he wanted his father and baesin’s mother to be separated.
