  1. Hey hello hi,
  2.
  3. Yes, this channel is live once again. Your eyes do not deceive you.
  4.
  5. Since it's impossible to get any message across to 100% of your followers (if even 50% know what's up I'd be impressed!), I'll go ahead and explain why I wasn't streaming to my Twitch channel again. If you already know what happened you can skip the next paragraph.
  6.
  7. On August 6, Twitch announced a few changes in policy such as a shortened life of past broadcasts, a 2 hour cap on highlights, and an automatic audio copyright-recognition check on all VODs. This caused a massive outcry from thousands upon thousands of people site-wide, including the vast majority of speedrunners, many of whom were concerned about longer speedruns not being able to be highlighted in one part and runs that have in-game music (Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Grand Theft Auto, etc.) being muted. Many of us went as far as to test out a new streaming service, Hitbox.tv, to ditch the "Googlepocalypse" that we wrongfully thought was taking place (And if you're seriously out of the loop -- long story short, the rumored deal with Google never went through; instead it is Amazon that acquired Twitch.). Peaches__ closed his Twitch account almost immediately. Cosmo tweeted something along the lines of 'for the first time in years, I am considering a new streaming service.' Peaches, Cosmo, Adam_AK, Hippie, myself, and many others streamed to hitbox on that very same night. But the idea of leaving Twitch in the interest of an unfamiliar, extremely small-scale site just didn't seem to stick around for too long. (I don't know other people's thoughts of course, but to me, Twitch just feels like home in a sense.) After about 72 hours most people had settled down, Twitch had withdrawn one of its changes (the 2 hour cap), and many involved people had returned to streaming on Twitch.

  9. So since August 6 I have been streaming on Hitbox.tv. I was among those that decided to keep streaming there. It wasn't at all to spite Twitch's changes in policy, my motives changed the instant I got there. It was a breath of fresh air, a change of pace. I also am a very stubborn person and don't like to go back on a decision right away, I'll admit. I had a great time though and am really glad I tried streaming elsewhere for a little while. (More of my thoughts on this: http://pastebin.com/hPa0v9Z6 ). If you were able to catch my streams there, that's awesome. Thanks for being a part of it. If you knew I was streaming there but for some reason couldn't access the site, chat, or just didn't want to watch a non-twitch stream, then that's unfortunate. If you just had no idea where I was for a month, then I'm sorry! Basically all I played this month was Spyro 1, and the culmination of my efforts (120%: 1:29:46 & any%: 39:16) are both uploaded on my YouTube channel (SSBMstuff).

  12. What happens from here? I, like a lot of others, am not completely dropping hitbox. I'm glad to have "picked it up" so to speak: familiarized myself with it and got a feel for streaming there and all. I think it's really neat to utilize and maintain a secondary stream / understream, just as some people have alts right here on Twitch. You can expect me streaming to BOTH sites, although something like a 90% / 10% split (Twitch / Hitbox). I reserve the right to have absolutely no rhyme or reason to where I stream. Some days I may randomly feel like doing a hitbox stream. On the other hand, an entire month may pass by where I don't feel like streaming there at all! I won't really announce or plan ahead either, so follow me on both if you want to: twitch.tv/SSBMstuff + hitbox.tv/saboom

  15. What's coming up, content-wise? Well as you should know by now, I do like to plan at least a bit in advance, but very rarely do I stick to those plans. I never seem to know which games I will actually feel like running. Goes back to that "Don't plan, be inspired." thing! (Shoutouts to Go1den) ...However right now I am thinking this is what's going to be coming up:
  16.
  17. - Crash 3 105% (main upcoming focus), maybe some any%
  18. - Ape Escape 100% (next main focus), probably some any%
  19. - Yu-gi-oh Forbidden Memories PB attempts or races (eh, not positive on this one :P)
  20.
  21. What do you notice? No Spro in the works?! Yeah I may be taking my leave of Spyro for a while, to play some of my other games. But before that, I want to get satisfactory times in a few categories: Spyro 3 any% and 100 egg. I feel like my Spyro 1 and 2 times will stay up to par even if I don't play for a while. Spyro 3 I've been slacking. I always want to stay current with Spyro, so even leaving for a month or however long this will be, I fear of being left behind in the meta. Silly yes, but I take my small purple dragons srsly. So yeah, just sharpening my times before playing some other stuff... Spyro 3 the first week or so of September, then Crash 3 (few weeks? ultimate goal for 105 is sub 2:10), then Ape Escape, maybe some scattered Yu-gi-oh throughout. I don't know. We'll see where I find myself a few weeks down the line at any rate. That's the plan for now.

  23. Thank you all for your understanding and for reading.
  24.
  25. See ya around,
  26. saboom
