- Tradition
- The Traditions of Family, and Clansmen were things that were assumed to have bene ingrained in those of the Rosenberg household. With an innate leaning towards spearplay, smithworks, and hard-toiling in mines.
- A brief synopsis of the clan that had lost much of it's prowess, power, and credibility. Upon their old island home- ravaged now by beasts, bandits, monstrosity, and any other ill-mannered, and mis-shapened horror that might contest them.
- The group is there. Without the lead- the one who had the most 'weight' to contest, and yearning desire to explore. In his place- there is a son, and his followers; friends of the father, of the boy -- gathered there to carry out what he himself, had intended.
- Their journey here probably one that carried grief with Balen- to see the home of ancestors for the first time- a sight that Balder surely would have loved with lush forestries, seen from afar as they come by ship/boat. The sands of the beach creeping upon them as they rock amidst waves, the glimpse of a volcano off in the distance that shows no signs of activity...
- A few things to note from where they are currently, and it isn't before long that they are dropped off by the ferryman upon these isles.
- With a cackle to leave them, and a wave of his finger to pass warning to all present -- "Do not stray from the path... To do so means you forfeit yourselves to the horrors that are to be here...!" -- a hand pointing towards a rocky trail carved out northward of them, a shaky finger that implies they stay upon it, less they face consequence.
- It is with that, that he leaves them- little else said about when he'd be back; a few days, to ferry them away, what they seek here he never asked, but he knew... It probably wouldn't be simple, or as rewarding as they imagined initially.
- Vice casually put both of his hands on his pockets as he arrived at the island with Balen and the others, he looked with curiosity at the rocky trail quickly remembering what the ferryman upon arriving at the island. "...Do not stray away from the path..." Vice scratched his chin in curiosity wondering what were those "horrors" that the ferryman said it himself upon dropping the group at the island.
- Vice turned his gaze towards Balen and the rest of the group as he wondered what exactly they were feeling right now. '...When Balen invited to his "adventure", I really wasn't expecting to go to another island, I was expecting more like...fight some monsters on some random place in Valmasia...' Vice thought as he still stared at the rest of the group.
- Vice scratched the back of his head as he began speaking to ask Balen a very simple question. "...I suppose we're here a your ancestor's island to explore it, am I right, Balen?" Vice asked with curiosity and friendliness on the tone of his voice as he stared towards Balen.

- Tatsuo was doing nothing with his time and his days were spent trying to find out how to get Balder back, though he had no clue on what to do. With that, Tatsuo thought he should check up on Balen. With things leading with what they are, Tatsuo ended up going with Balen to the island his father planned to go to before the war.
- With the sign infront of them saying they should stay on the path and if they differ from it they would be forfiting their lives from whatever the island had in mind.
- Tatsuo would look toward all of the children who were present and began to stare at them with a bit of worry, though that would soon end.
- "We should follow the sign here. If anything this is the only indication of what this island is about. And we need to stick together no matter what."
- Tatsuo was the only adult around and he at least had to make sure everyone got off the island safely.
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- It was time. Balen had finally learned his fathers map left behind, and was able to grab his close friends in order to take them along for the ride. Materials needed for the trip quickly grabbed, and once everyone was ready they'd meet at the port. A smile was given to them all before leaving Frostvale to go to his ancestors island. "I umm...I want to thank all of you." Balen would start off, head low. "Even though my dad isn't here right now, it still means a lot to me to fulfill his wish and dream to see my ancestors island." A tear soon flowing down the boys cheek, he was obviously emotional. "Sorry, umm..." he gathered his thoughts. "Lets try to be safe, and enjoy our time there. My father told me it might be a little dangerous, so lets try and be as careful as we can you guys." A sigh now escaping the boy as the warriors would depart.
- It took time, but soon the ship/boat would arrive upon the island. Looking from the outside it had seemed beatiful! A large island with tree's as tall as a dragon it seemed! Balen had stared at it for the longest as they slowly approached, tears non-stop flowing down the childs face as he was so happy to actually be where his ancestors once lived. Once finally docking upon the sands, Balen would move off of the boat along with the others. Making sure to heed the caution given, he would look to the others once again. "I just...I want to say thank you again, for all of your help here." a quick smile and nod given then.
- Balen would soon after turn, marveling at the island once again. Now he knew why his father wanted to come so badly, it was the home of his ancestors, their ancestors, and such a place was needed to be around obviously. Balen would begin to move forward, soon looking back to Vice as he'd say "Yes, my father wished to take back things lost to our family hundreds of years ago. Hopefully we can actually find it." a nod given then as Balen would look to Tatsuo as well. "Sounds good, Mr. Tatsuo. Lets go then." Balen would quickly say, excited and ready to explore the land of his ancestors. Now moving on the path, hopefully everyone followed along.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- She hadn't known what to expect when Balen had asked her to go with him on the trip, she didn't know him or his dad very well, so she felt it a bit odd that he would evne consider her, but... anything to get out of Frostvale, anything. Nevertheless, she felt quite sick on the boat trip there, it appeared that she didn't exactly... like the open ocean, at all.
- She had thrown up a few times, and her face was deathly pale, she was already regretting leaving the snowy town, but, as she saw land, she instantly felt a sense of relief... although, she was markedly LESS relieved as she heard the ferryman's warning.
- <This isn't going to be good..> she thought, scratching her head as she stepped off of the boat, looking around the island... "Hey, this place looks... pretty nice, huh?"
- (Clairea Grey)
- Magnus didn't think that he was someone who'd get seasick. Unfortunately he was wrong. The boat ride was hell. He'd have to research seasickness cures once he got the chance. Unfortunately, he'd be coming back by boat first. He grumbled and shut his eyes to try and ease himself. It helped. A little.
- Boy was he glad when they came across land. He nearly leapt into the shallow water to speed his arrival but so close to the shore the rocking didn't seem to bother him so much. He had to resist the urge to kiss the ground upon leaping off the boat. He took a second to regain control over his stomach and looked out over the island.
- It was certainly green enough, that was nice. Magnus thought that he'd might be able to get new plants to add to his collection here. That is if he was ever given the chance. He wasn't one hundred percent sure what Balen wanted to do here without his father. Oh well, he took up Balen's offer on the grounds of helping him through some tough times... and to get away from the accusing stares in Frostvale.
- He breathed in the sea air to try and clear his head. Unfortunately he now only associated the smell of the sea with bouts of vomiting so it didn't really help. He cast a spell and sent a gust of wind out through the nearby flowers and then back to his nose. The fresh scent helped clear his mind and stomach. He looked over towards Balen, whatever the boy wanted to do here, Magnus was there for him. Even if he just ended up being a walking first aid kid.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- She arrived with the others on he island of which Balen told her few months ago, somewhat surprised and unsure about her surrounding, cleary still not understanding why exactly she was told to come with the others. Hamaki frowned quietly as she kept her ears lowered, quietly following everyone else, not wanting to get in their way, constantly looking around, trying to ge familiar with her new surrounding without actually walking off the path.
- She was curious of what they were goint to find at the island, though decided not to risk with herself ending up lost and separated from the others, with her hands close to her weapon. She didn't feel well on that island, something constantly kept bothering her, she didn't asound her concerns, clearly not feeling in place to push herself into anyones focus or way, after all she was possibly one of the weakest members of the mission.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- The joint decisions seems to be one where all present maintain their route upon the path. With Tatsuo- the only adult- offering such advice, and Balen- giving his thanks for all those who still came along despite Balder's absence.
- A child lost without afather, and now among these ancestral ruins, and potetial artifacts- what he would do would surely carry it's weight with it as the only one to carry the Rosenberg name present.
- The Path:
- Flat for the moment, loosen portions of the earth, cracks, and burn marks burrowed deep within -- the signs of ravaging times, a shoddy 'barrier' of wood that deters any from actually veering off course as they walk. LEading form the beach, this is what they see. It's the most immediate route, with nothing of interest- a straight, and narrow way forward.
- But should one look off from here... For those who decided it best to look at their surroundings before continuing- a few among them to do so- they would be able to perceive a glint; radiant, and sharp -- off towards the ends of beach.
- A sign of something burrowed there, sticking out among the sandy terrain, nearest to the forestry mentioned prior as they travelled here; the waves crashing against the surface threaten to take it. With each one coming closer- as though creeping along to swallow it intentionally -- the smell of salt water feeling the air more with each impending rush of liquid that came down upon it.
- Room for discovery, for adventure. This was one such moment to defer from the intended path that the feryman warned against- to discover a potential relic, and perhaps- for the young Rosenberg to find some inkling remnant of Rosenbergs past 'meant' for his discovery.
- Perfect.
- Everyone had agreed to continue onwards, and thus they'd begin to move. Well, they were going to at least. Balen's eyes had been marveling the island with hope of finding nothing more other than what his father would've probably wanted. Such a thing being the quick glint seen only when the child could squint his eyes. Balen wondered what such a thing was, and wanted to go and check it out. However, he remembered the warnings, and was hesitant in going to do so. "Hrng..." he'd think for a moment just before calling to the rest.
- "Wait wait!" he'd cry as he moved towards them.
- "Over there." Balen now pointed towards such glint off in the distance, hopefully they too could see it. The waters soon to approach it and wash whatever it might've been away from the island for good. "I know we have a path but...If my father wanted to come here to get back what was ours, that could be something of my ancestors." Balen didn't want to leave something left alone, thus his choice here was to go after whatever the object had been.
- A look given to the rest of the group though, especially the eldest, Tatsuo. "But, if you guys don't feel safe going, we can come back after...I hope." of course, such was a low possiblity with the waters reaching the glint with every passing second. "I don't want to put you guys in danger, so if you don't want to go, we won't have to..." he began to twiddle his fingers. "But if you do, then we should hurry before the water gets it."
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- She had begun to follow to majority of the group, as she really had... little to no clue what was actually going ON on the island... however, since Balen WAS kinda the leader of the whole expedition, she figured it'd be best to go by what he said.... huh, a glint? She squinted, she didn't really... see it, then again, her eyesight wasn't the best, so she figured that she'd have to take Balen's word on it.
- She decided she'd try and go with Balen to see whatever the glint was, after all, what was a glint gonna do, explode and kill them all? ...Well, it might just do, but, she had no clue, she hadn't been on... many strange island adventures... as in, she hadn't been on any.
- "To the glint we go!"
- (Clairea Grey)
- Tatsuo listened to Balen as he cried out that something was glinting at the beach. At the distance, Tatsuo couldn't see from his right eye very far, but his left eye was pretty much fine. As he closed his right eye and loked in the distance he saw the glint as well. Tatsuo began to listen to Balen more as he said that his father wanted to get anything from this island that belonged to them. Tatsuo nodded and walked with Balen for a moment to retrieve the relic or item that was in the sand. Luckily for Balen, Tatsuo was a water magi, so he would push the water a bit back so it didn't wash it away by the time they got there.
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- Magnus was enjoying his momentary escape from the smell of the sea when he caught Balen's call. Apparently there was something glinting off on the coast or something. Magnus couldn't see it but Magnus was sure he actually needed glasses and besides his eyesight was never the best to begin with. He squinted harder and harder until his eyes were basically closed and only then did he notice the small twinkle coming from the distant object.
- The ferryman warned them to not stray from the path. But technically going back from the starting line isn't straying from the path... technically. "I'm fine with whatever you lot decide, going over there shouldn't be too much of a hassle." Magnus thought about it and either outcome was satisfactory to him. Well, almost satisfactory, he would be getting closer to the dreaded sea. He shuddered at the fresh memories before waiting on the group's decision.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- The ookami looked towards the young Rosenberg as soon as he spoke, pointing towards something weird in the distance. staring at it for short while with glimse of interest before looking back at the others and simply preparing to follow them in silence.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- Vice slowly walked through the path with the rest of the group, he put his right hand on the sword that he had on his back just in case of any emergency. Vice raise his eyebrow in curiosity as he saw loosen portions of the earth, cracks, and burn marks burrowed deep within the path that Vice and the rest of the group was walking through right now. '...Hmm..."burn marks", clearly there was some type of monster or someone that uses Fire Magic, anyways we should be careful for now...' Vice thought as he crouched down examining the burn marks burrowed in the ground.
- Vice turned his gaze towards Balen as the blonde-haired boy began pointing at the glint off in the distance saying that the group should "investigate it" to see if it was any possible item from Balen's ancestors. Vice quickly frowned upon hearing Balen's suggestion and giving him his opinion about the choice the group had.
- "...Balen, I don't wanna go against your wishes of finding anything from your ancestors...but just look at that." Vice said giving a pause as he pointed to the burn marks and destroyed ground that were burrowed in the path. "...There's just a little possibility that we may find ourselves in the "horrors" that ferryman mentioned, Balen." Vice said in a very calm tone on his voice as he stared at Balen's eyes with a serious look on his face.
- (Vice Pyro)
- They move towards it- most of them. As they edge closer to it, they come to find that it appears to be a stick of some sort, or perhaps the pommel end of sword.
- Whatever the case- it's there, on sinking footing as water draws closer, sand crumbling around it; gems are spotted from where they are, and boy do they look enticing set in upon it's surface. Magnificent, reds, greens, and blues all meshing together there beautifully.
- She squinted more at the object, it looked... pretty. Her eyes sparkled as she stared at the gems, her hand uncinciously reaching out, before, in... quite possibly the stupidest thing she'd ever done in her life, she decided it'd be a fantastic idea to ignore Vice's advice, and she, inching closer to the... shiny object... reached out a hand to grab it.
- "It looks so nice.." she mumbled as her hand closed around the object.
- (Clairea Grey)
- Tatsuo arriving at the beach along with everyone else, began to see the glint in the sand. He didn't know how everything was suppose to work out, but it seemed harmless for the moment. Tatsuo began to look at the many gems they laid upon the ground. They all looked beautiful and orgasmic, though all of them had to be to something else other then be gems.
- "Everyone becareful. We dont know what might be on the beach."
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- Balen went on to walking down the sandy path along with the rest. Of course he was cautious, and he hoped the rest were as well. As of now, Balen was just hoping to figure out what the glint had been. Once the group was actually close, Balen would stop and stare at it along with the others. A moment passed as he began to glance at the different colors and the handle of whatever it might've been. Balen wondered if it was a weapon of his ancestors, or might it have just been something that was washed up.
- Clairea seemed to walk towards it first. Balen decided to sit back along with the others. As of now only watching to see her reveal whatever the handle might hold. Be it a blade, or maybe some sort of trap that had been set up.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- As they edged closer Magnus could finally make it out. It seemed to be a short pole of some kind. It gleamed in the sun, sending a multicoloured dazzling array scattered around it on the sand. While it certainly looked valuable enough, Magnus had some small doubts.
- He'd heard and seen what some magical artefacts could do. Due to this, he refrained from using any mana at all on their approach, even as the ground began to sink away underneath them. He was being overly cautious he knew, but the sea air was making his head spin again and it was the most logical thing that passed through his brain.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- Hamaki followed others to the beach, slowly walking through it, far in the back with the others, surprise by what exactly she seen before her, feeling unsure about entire idea of aproaching the gems. She watched as Balen and Clairea while standing next to her father with her arms crossed, not knowing what exactly to expect from the situation.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- Vice slowly made his way to the rest of the group as they stood near the "glint", the black-hooded teen watched in curiosity as Clairea began to walk towards the glint, Vice crossed his arms as he knew that "something bad" was gonna happen. '...Let's just hope that the glint isn't some type of monster relaxing under the sand...' Vice thought as he saw Clairea reaching out her hand to grab the glint.
- "...Just why are there so many gems around the beach...?" Vice mumbled to himself as he scanned the surroundings of the beach, wondering in curiosity of how and why there were so many gems around the glint.
- (Vice Pyro)
- Clairea's luck is good! With her making it over to the glint before the waters could do what the intended. Should hands reach around it- she'd find herself yanking free what appears to be a broken, and unusable sword! It's length ruined beyond repair, and while the hilt, and guard and all that seemed to stand the weatherin of time, having been submerged for so long- the actual blade itself was nowg beyond repair...
- Such is the reward she receives. While this seems to be a downing point for their discovery, should she continue to inspect- the young Grey might find a ring linked to it! By chain, hanging just off the side of guard; perfectly wearable, and definitely something of value. Upon it there is a crest borne 'R'; this might have been a hint at something, or maybe she wouldn't grasp the link to his (Balen's) family so quickly. Either way- it seems she has found a piece of his inheritance.
- With the sand beginning to fold inward, they all face a new danger though.
- With this piece of the earth removed- there seems to be a churning in the waves; foaming rising rapidly, a shake, and a quake -- the mighty rumble that suddenly begins suggest something... 'more' than just nature at play here now.
- Most are lucky; Balen, Clairea, Hamaki, and Tatsuo experience the shifts in the sands- the sudden lurching of the sea as sets of claws suddenly SPROUT up out of the water in a mixture of foam, seaweed, and hilariously enough- marshmallowly substance that coats the body of two crustacean themed kaor-beasts.
- "FDKGJLKDFJHLKDFJ!!!"
- The sound of horror, and death as they lash out at both Magnus, and Vice; the slower of the gorup. Laggging behind, they are faced with their own personal dilemmas!
- With the prize of the glint now gone, they sought something else entirely. These two, substition, and something that teetered ont he edges of equivalency- the fiends do not speak, as their mouths are clamped shut, but there those beady black eyes locked on- swishing about waters, and weeds as they attempt to drag them down. Leaving those four who were not caught to consider a rescue, or leave these two adventurers to wrestle with their captors alone in a bid for freedom.
- <Aww..> she mumbled, the sword was a complete ruined mess... damn, well, atleast the hilt looked pretty cool... she could probably sell it for some crowns... although, she didn't know many people who'd buy... a sword hilt. She turned it around in her hand a bit, noticing the chain, she lifted up the ring, squinting at the R. "R...?"
- Oh, shit, more pressing matters than a letter. She stared in horror as the two Yokai attacked her friends... well, a friend, and someone she had barely met... huh. Grumbling, she pulled her sword out of its scabbard, she had left her NIvis issued one at home, figuring she might want a bit of a... better one, for a creepy island adventure.
- Nevertheless, she charged into the fray, doing her best to help out the two people she had possibly doomed by pulling the shiny object out. <Damnit...>
- (Clairea Grey)
- Tatsuo watched as Claire grabbed the glint from the beach and let the sand sink in for a moment.
- "R?"
- Tatsuo heard and saw that the letter R was on the blade and thought it meant "Rosenberg". With that, the sands and water began to quake and shake. Tatsuo began to tell everyone to run to the solid ground, though two Kaor yokai came out of nowhere and began to grab Vice and Magnus. Seeing as they were in trouble, Tatsuo would pull out his sword and began to get ready for a fight to save them both.
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- Balen watched as Clairea moved forward. She seemed to be bent on grabbing the weapon, and Balen would inspect to see just what it was. She lifted it up, and Balen looked down at the blade. It had been way beyond repair, he could tell. His fathers blacksmith journal helped with at least identifying different types of steel. This one wasn't of use really. Although, the glint with gems and such could've been something good. Balen didn't notice Clairea with the ring with the R crest upon it, thus he hadn't said anything as of now.
- Sadly, he had no time to say anything anyways. Suddenly a shift in the air was made, and Balen immediatly moved back along with others. Tatsuo, Hamaki, and Clairea soon getting to a safe distance as they soon noticed Vice and Magnus being dragged by crab claws! "No!" Balen would shout in anger, a hand immediatly going for his spear. He didn't expect such dangers to come so soon, at least not this immediate.
- Balen would quickly manipulate his own energy. Commanding the energy shroud to form around his body as usual as he prepared to move forward. "I'm coming for you!" he'd shout towards Vice and Magnus. Leaving them behind wouldn't be right, and Balen was going to do what was right. He trained for years and years in order to save his friends, it was time to save them now.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- Well that was a very impressive handle, too bad the rest of it lost the battle to time and the sea. Seeing the weapon in its decrepit state, Magnus felt a little bit safer. Perhaps it was nothing after all. Then he sank further down into the sand as what could only be described as terror burst out of the sea foam.
- Magnus barely had time to react before he was set upon by one of the beasts. He quickly cast a spell, the wooden ring on his finger began to grow into his arm, providing protection and drawing the necessary blood. The blood began to rise around his body, forming a thin coating around him that began to waver in an invisible breeze of its own.
- The environment wasn't exactly suited for nature magic and he reckoned that crab monsters weren't going to be affected too much by water magic. That didn't leave him with much choice on what magic to use. Nevertheless he turned to face the giant enemy crabs and prepared to fend them off.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- "...This time, my "luck" isn't gonna save me this time around, it's actually gonna kill me." Vice sarcastically said to himself as he now looked at some type of crustacean themed kaor-beasts. "Something bad" really did happen as Vice foresaw, the black-hooded teen sighed as he got his sword from his back and got into a fighting stance prepared to fight the crustacean themed kaor-beasts, Vice gripped his sword even more firmly as he saw the kaor-beasts's pure black eyes that looked like they were made out of darkness.
- Vice quickly turned his head towards the rest of the group that wasn't "fortunately" grabbed by crab claws, Vice began to figure out a way to get out of the mess that he and Magnus were currently on right now but all he could think inside his head was just a scream out of agony and frustation. 'GODDAMMIT BALEN!' That was the scream that was inside Vice's mind right now...and nobody could hear it.
- "...Uugh, I just hate these adventures that basically just rely on luck." Vice mumbled to himself once again as he prepared for his fight against the "crab monsters".
- (Vice Pyro)
- Upon spotting that something was going wrong as the sands began to shift around everyone as soon as Clairea picked the hilt. Hamaki looked around with her ears perking up and winds gathering her legs, giving her enough momentum to jump away to a safe distance. She landed safely and instantly began checking if others were alright, soon spotting the giant crabs, along with Vice and Mangus being unfortune enough to be forced to be facing them.
- Young Ryozo let out a quiet growl just before grabbing her grandmothers helmet and soon putting it on just before sighing and starting to run towards her friend. One of her hands moved towards her weapon, swiftly pulling it and swinging just as she closed her distance with one of the monsters, preparing to aid her friend if she was fast enough.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- Oh, holy shit these... giant crabs hurt, alot. Her sword clanged off of their shells, and she did her best to avoid getting hit by their constantly snapping claws. Somehow, the group had apparently managed to take them down... without anyone getting hurt /too/ badly... that was good. As the two beasts fell, the rocky armor around the girl did too, and she once again inspected the ring that was attatched to the sword hilt.
- <R... Rosenberg?> she glanced over to Balen, a tiny smirk on her face. <He doesn't have to know...> she looked the ring over a few times, it was quite pretty... she could probably get alot of crowns from selling it... or, she could just wear it herself, she needed a bit of jewelry.
- A bit of guilt ran through her body as she realized what she was considering, she was considering STEALING the kid's family heirloom, he had trusted her with coming along on the trip, and he HAD just lost his dad... but, it did look quite nice, and Balen didn't seem like he had seen it...
- No, bad Clairea, what would Ran'ko think?
- She waved Balen over to her. "Hey, Balen... I think this is for you." she said, slicing the chain off of the ring and holding the ring out for him. Whatever, the sword hilt'd probably be valuable enough on it's own... and wouldn't saddle her with a bunch of guilt for keeping it.
- (Clairea Grey)
- Tatsuo thought that these crabs were a bit easier then he thought, but they were still difficult. Tatsuo and the other were able to get out just perfectly fine. Luckily, both Vice and Mag weren't hurt and they were perfectly fine after this al happened.
- "You two alright?"
- Tatsuo was directing his attention toward the other two boys other then Balen. He was happy that everyone was able to hold their own.
- Tatsuo would give a small sigh as the battle was over and both of the crab kaors were dead in their tracks before they harmed anyone.
- With the trail behind them, Tatsuo instructed everyone to keep moving on the road so they could get the work done.
- "Alright lets get a move on guys, We dont know what might happen next. So lets stay on our toes."
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- Balen quickly jumped forward. His spear had been raised high, and he immediatly swung it down upon the beast in order to try and free his friends. Balen hadn't time to focus upon little things like how to fight and what not, rather, he just wanted to make sure his friends were OK as quickly as possible. Balen immediatly found himself, along with the others, finishing off the last of the yokai, and soon they had some time to rest.
- "S-Sorry, Vice and Magnus...I hope the two of you are OK though." Balen would go on to sighing some. Soon taking one final deep breathe as he looked to Tatsuo. The man spoke of going on, and he was right. They needed to continue. Balen would nod and went on to saying "Ok, lets go back to the safe path then I guess?" a smile given as he'd make sure Magnus and Vice were OK once again.
- Balen then looked to Clairea who'd just come to him. Suddenly handing the child a ring that had the initial "R" upon it. "Hrm?" Balen raised a brow. Soon grabbing it as she handed it to him. "T-Thank you, Clairea." Balen would say as he moved in for a hug. She...She had been a true friend.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- Magnus flung himself into the fight. He didn't know why he had to be one of the ones unlucky enough to be right on the frontline but he could do work with that. He grabbed a seed from his pocket and encapsulated it in blood and thrust it into the sand. Without soil to draw power from, Magnus' own body would have to do.
- He cast a spell and the seed split and sprouted immediately. It rapidly grew and developed into a large tree. It was unstable in the sand but that just allowed it to spread it's healing pollen even faster as it shook on the loose sand. Magnus picked one of the monsters and rushed it, casting his blood magic as he went. He sent mists of blood into the monsters face, hoping to choke and blind it to allow time for the others to engage.
- He grabbed his staff in two hands and began whipping a torrent of blood around. Clairea and Balen soon joined him in his efforts and they began to drive the monsters back. The amount of blood flying through the air started small but soon grew as the monster began to take damage, Their own blood biting back at them. The first tree soon wilted and so Magnus had to retreat to plant another, it took time but he managed to plant a new one.
- Though it didn't matter much, the fight was soon won. Magnus had managed to stay up through the fight, his nature magic may have helped a little but he was sure that it was due to the efforts of the others that they managed to emerge triumphant. "No more grabbing the shiny things Clairea, at least not while I'm around." He was panting but uninjured, he dispelled his magic and began to walk to surer ground. Thankfully the scent of blood masked the smell of the sea for now.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- "...Well that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." Vice said while he casually placed both of his hands to the pockets of his black loose jacket. The group that consisted of Vice, Hamaki, Tatsuo, Balen, Magnus and Clairea managened to defeat the two "crab monsters", a title that Vice gave to the two actual Kaor Yokais that the group just fought.
- Vice kept casting during the fight his Fire Magic such as Great Fire Wave to damage the two Yokais and Overheat to slow down the two Yokais for the rest of the group to attack. Vice honestly was a bit surprised that he got out of the mess that he was without an injury or a scratch at all, he smiled as he looked at the rest of the group.
- Vice looked over to Clairea while raising his eyebrow in curiosity as he saw her giving the ring with a initial "R" on it to Balen. '...A "R"...that must mean "Rosenberg", I guess we did find something belonging to Balen after all, I'm happy for Balen then.' Vice thought as he smiled upon seeing Balen hug Clairea after receiving the ring from her.
- (Vice Pyro)
- Hamaki looked at the others as soon as the last monster ended up dead, she slowly removed her helmet just before wiping her forehead and soon resting her weapon on her back. She walked closer towards everyone else just as they began making their way out of the beach and going down the path as she believed deeper into the island. She frowned a little while looking at Vice, Balen and her father, mumbling something under her nose before putting her helmet back on.
- With event that happened on the beach, the ookami decided to keep herself on guard, clearly not desiring to end up being cought by surprise once more, though still remaining in the back, quietly following the others, with her head lowered.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- They are victorius, and from here- they move onward. Out of the remains of seaweed, crabs, and other sea-worthy things- the group has succeeded in saving the two misfortunate.
- From there, there is nothing to gain from looting, as their bodies seem to dissolve in a torrent of acidic sea-foam, and should any be foolish enough to attempt to lay claim to trophy of some sort... they run the risk of PENALTY.
- A brief moment of transfer- the ring of the Rosenbergs finding it's heir, and Clairea decides it best ot hand over, while keeping the excess hilt, and ruined blade for her self.
- (RP traveling ahead, along the trail,a nd finding acave entrance- enter it there)
- With everyone alright and well, it was time for the group to go further onward through the island of the Rosenbergs.
- "Alright everyone we have to make sure nothing pops up on us like those crabs. Though, if we do get caught then we can take them down. I dont doubt any of your abilities, though make sure your careful here..Though I dont have to remind you."
- After those words, Tatsuo would lead everyone to a cave entrance, which the path lead into. He didn't know if the cave was a safe place or not, but it was worth a shot since it still followed the path.
- "Lets home this doesn't lead to danger."
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- Magnus stepped in line behind Tatsuo and the others, he'd prefer to linger at the back of the group just so he could grab some samples of the local Flora and Fauna on his way past. If he could discover something with interesting properties here it could make his Alchemical studies much easier.
- When they got to the cave entrance Magnus continued to linger towards the back, not wanting to be the first one into an ambush this time. He made sure his bad was fastened with all the samples inside of it and strapped it firmly onto his back. He didn't want to lose all of this potential.
- He tried to peak into the cave but his eyes were bad enough in broad daylight, let alone pitch black. And it wasn't as if he had any magic to make any light. He sighed and waited for a more suitable Magi to do something.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- Deep within they venture.
- Nothing to deter, nothing new creeping up. They stay along the path expertly- safety guaranteed, but how long would that last?
- As they traverse caverns suddenly, the sounds of foot steps, growls, and a metal grating against stone. It's eerie, and damning- the sounds that rang constantly. Follwoing them along, trailing- someone keeping an eye on them.
- There was no way to pinpoint where, or when, or even who -- their identity unknown, but their presence felt. A rough trekt through leads to a dragon, mighty fearsome, and downright fucking ugly.
- The next along the path for the gorup to face- this gigantic beast a remnant of a war past between beast, and kaor; the last of it's kind, and a proud embodiment of the power possessed to survive.
- Balen went on to hearing Tatsuo as the man spoke of continuing. He was right, it was time to move on. Balen nodded and began to walk along with the others then. His eyes continuing to enjoy the sights of everything within the island. The island was huge and beatiful, and even the path was nice to Balen. The child liked every second of being there, and he wanted to continue obviously. As the group walked on they'd soon notice the sudden cave entrance before them. Balen raised a brow at it, staring for quite some time just before seeing everyone else enter as well. "Lets try to be careful guys...I don't know what else is still on this island, so make sure to look around." Balen would smile then, hopefully everyone stayed safe.
- Once inside, the air had changed quickly. It was something unnatural, smog even, and something Balen didn't enjoy. "Hrng..." He cringed a bit at it just before moving on to stopping as he'd feel a pair of eyes on him. Balen looked around for a moment, but said nothing. Maybe it was just his imagination. A sigh was released and he continued down the path. It didn't take them long though to suddenly find themselves upon a great and mighty dragon!
- It was a large, and it seemed to have lived here for decades. Balen froze up for a moment. This now only being the second time in his life that he'd seen a dragon. Balen had known all his life not to actually try and hurt, maim, or kill such a beast, but had it continued to stand in the boys way of continuing to explore the island, Balen would have to look back on such a rule. The boy drew his spear, energy magic surging about him at this point as he stared at the great dragon for a while. Hopefully it understood english.
- "Excuse me!" he'd suddenly say, waving his free hand. "If you can, Mr. Dragon....Let us pass without having us hurt you, please." Balen tried to ask the dragon to simply step aside basically. Had it not, then it'd be facing the consequences pretty soon. Let it be just from Balen, or the entire force of Balen and all of the support he had.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- Well, this seemed to be going quite we-... Fuck's that sound? She glanced around at hearing the many noises, she stuffed her hands into her jacekts pockets, shuddering. It wasn't cold, she lived in Frostvale, this wasn't cold... why the hell was she shuddering?
- Whatever, maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her, or something. Nevertheless, she continued following the group, haven taking her hands out of her pockets, and grabbing the hilt of her sword, eyes shifting around the cavern.. OH SHIT.
- She enarly fell on her ass as she noticed the dragon, her face instantly going pale in shock. "Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit" she repeated endlessly, her hand shaking as she lost grip on her sword, it clattering to the ground.
- "Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck" she repeated endlessly, her eyes widened in horror. She could handle a couple Yokai, she could handle seasickness, she could handle... well, she could handle a lot. She couldn't... SHE COULDN'T HANDLE A GREAT BIG FUCKING DRAGON!
- No, no, that's wrong, that's wrong... s-she could totally do this... she tried to calm the tremors in her hand down, and managed to get a grasp of her sword again, she spent a few more seconds trying to calm her breathing, although, that was a bit of a harder challenge.
- Her body was covered in Magma, she didn't want to fight this thing, not at all... but, she wasn't about to leave herself unprotected to a giant fucking DRAGON! "Y-Yeah, what Balen said!"
- (Clairea Grey)
- Tatsuo didn't know what to except from the island, but things were getting even worst.
- "Whats that sound?..."
- Tatsuo would hear multiple sounds coming from different directions, though he didn't know what to do. He began to try and see if he could sense where it was with his Mana sight, but the being was a bit too quick for Tatsuo.
- When the being immerged it turned out to be a giant dragon.
- "Balen....I dont know whats your ancestor's deal with this sort of stuff, but lets hope what ever its guarding is worth wild to you......and please dont try to tell anyone that we fought a dragon.....the king would surely put up in the dungeon for this kind of act..."
- Tatsuo began to pull out his sword from his back and held it to his side for when ever the battle would start.
- The cave was a darkened area, so anyone could only see the dragon infront of them glowing with fire. Today was turning into a troublesome border of distaster.
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- A dragon... well that was certainly a surprise. Fuck. They /could/ try and reason with it, follow the proper laws of Frostvale and the like and they would most likely die for that. "Uhm I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to start casting spells now." The blood still running down his arm began to surround him once again as he began to cast his pre-emptive spells.
- He struck his staff into the ground and its wood began to reshape into a more offensive form. Water, Blood and the wind began to whip up around Magnus. He planted a seed in the ground pre-emptively, at least there was some soil here. He gripped his staff in two hands like a pike and stood his ground.
- He wasn't nearly as mentally prepared for this as a man about to fight a dragon should be. But he guessed that he would have to just try his best. All he ever could do really. He waited for a signal of some sort from someone, this was not going to be a nice and easy fight. Heck, it wasn't even going to be a difficult fight, this was going to be horrendously hard. Magnus prayed that they would be able to go by peacefully but he had his serious doubts.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- Sudden change of scenary forced hamaki to perk her ears up and remove her helmet just before looking around, smelling the air, not used to the new scent that the cave gave out. She snorted loudly and sighed just before catching up with the others and covering her ears upon hearing a boomking steps, growling and grating noises, echoing across the cave. She tried to locate the source just before staring in shock at the monstrosity in front of her.
- Her hand nearly instantly moved towards her weapon with her entire form lowering and her ears dropping against her head, clearly the sight wasn't the nicest, leaving the ookami fightened. She looked at her father and Balen just before moving herself closer to Tatsuo and soon speaking quietly. "D-Dad...please...tell me...I am seeing things because...I was never prepared to face a dragon..." she said with clearly frightened voice.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- Vice looked around his surroundings as he walked through the island's cave with Balen and the rest of the group, Vice walked just behind Tatsuo since he was a little bit "experienced in cave/dungeon's adventures, he would adventure himself in caves daily. '...Okay...let me see if all those years of adventuring in caves are gonna pay off right now...' Vice thought as he summoned a little fireball in his right hand to light the dark cave that Vice and the group was going through right now.
- However, Vice's "light source" became useless after..a giant brown dragon appearing out of nowhere. "...Please don't tell me that I'm seeing what I'm seeing right now..." Vice said to the others as he looked at the giant brown dragon's eyes that was shrouded in some type of Fire or Holy Magic.
- '...JUST WHY DOES BALEN HAVE A GODDAMN DRAGON PROTECTING THE FAMILY'S HEIRLOOM!??' Vice screamed mentally inside his head as he and the rest of the group began preparing each other for a fight against the brown dragon.
- (Vice Pyro)
- The Dragon can not be reasoned with. Balen's words earn him a spot on the choppin block as it's tail comes dow in a rough arc- thorned, and spike all at the same time; connecting with the boy's body, he's sent for a ride.
- A fearsome blow that knocks the win from his body, and threatens to take him from this plain. If not for his tenaicty, and will- he'd be done for. With tatsuo earning a brief respite for them, the Dragon roars it's challenges. A creature to hav esurvived against many insurmountable odds in the past, it is not one to be slain so easily.
- Shown as with a brush of it's wings a flaming gust fills the void- pushing them back, and allowing them to reclaim, and partially heal a wounded Rosenberg. It stands at the ready, their way blocked by tremors; rocks having fallen, and the party of six forced to see this battle through tot he end as there appears to be no way out within sight.
- The might of ages shines through.
- With the crew facing defeat at the hands of the Dragon. With it's startling display of power now realizined- vitality renewed, and it having bolstered itself beyond recognition of itself prior- Smaug tears through them. Leaving swathes of flames in it's wake, and blanketing the area in the overpowering effects of exorcist magic.
- The vivacity that it carries itself with is unseen, and surely this group that was mixed with learned adventurers, and newbies alike were tried on new levels for the first time. With injuries being bestowed for some few....
- They were all tired, and injured in some wya. Some showing, and some not... yet.
- The dragon- despite it's youthful display of power was old, and drained. A tired being, and as it remained, ready to continue- it knew in reality it could not. A beast on it's last legs, and one final bout to determine what happened to these travelers today.
- He rushes head first int them, roaring, flames shooting off, it ready to finish the job, and go in for that final KILL if such were to be the destine path on it's way out the door.
- Smaug's final dance was not to be forgotten.
- For upon them- scars are left of their encounter with the beast. Slain in then end, be it by there hand, or by the wounds of battles fought past. He falls- for the added onslaught is too much, and as he claws, bites, and expels -- he can not keep up in the end.
- Through his bloodlust he targets youths in particular. Mad in his senile fit- Hamaki becomes the object of his desire, and for every arc, and swipe of her Scythe- he is angered. Tracking her down, knocking aside any who would fail to move out of his path fast enough- he is upon her.
- She in turn upon him. A child- frightened perhaps, and unsure of what to do. They cling to what they know -- charging forward, and with courage in their heart, and foolishness in their step... they cross.
- From each other, in a fit of glorious echoing of dense material, hitting bone; severance of the dragon's arm coming from a downward arc of Scythe, as a roar follows- the sound of pain.
- Hamaki's blow going further, connecting deeper into it's side, cutting down and leaving a wide gash that bleeds out with no attempt at ceasing. A proud moment for the young Ryozo, one only overshadowed by the irony of the similarity that she, and the vanquished now share as there appears to be something... lacking from her person.
- A hand- the one opposite that held her scythe removed- closer more to Smaug's now lifeless body, or rapidly getting there - the beast having taken a 'trophy', even in death. Having missed it's mark, her life was the goal, but her body paying a price.
- The battle was fierce and they had all suffered injuries because of it, most of them will recover. But not all of them. Magnus looked over at the Ookami girl as she was cradled. It was not right for someone so young to get to injured. Magnus turned away, the girl's father was a much better healer than he was and so he left her in his more capable hands.
- Magnus checked himself down, he seemed to have come out relatively unscathed. A few minor burns here and there. he stretched and noticed his balance seemed a little off. He pulled his backpack off and realised why. There was nothing left to his backpack barring a single piece of leather holding the straps together. Well, there goes those herbs he had been collecting.
- Magnus threw the tattered remains to the ground and sighed. He had hoped for at least some profit from this adventure. For now all he seems to have gained are some not so fond memories.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- A clean cut, one she never did believe to make ever in her life, one she was going to look to her father with a proud smile, just before standing up and realizing that something was off, she didn't need to balance herself due to her weapons weight. She looked down while lifting her left arm up in the air, with terror slowly being drawed on her young face, her lips separating just a echoing girlish scream escaped her lungs, soon followed by a her scythe finally landing on the ground, few feet away, with her hand still gripping it tightly.
- The now terrified ookami teen landed on her knees while holding her bleeding arm, constantly screaming in shock and agonizing pain, with her remaining hand digging blindly around her satchels, looking for bandages, ones she tried to desparatly use to cover her right arm, desparatly trying to stop the bleeding just as her vision began to blur slowly. She felt like in one of her old nightmares, though with it being now a reality, far more terrifying than anything else she went through so far in her young life.
- She defeated the dragon, but for cost of portion of one of her limbs. Her mad gaze trailed around between the others as she still tried to bandage her wound, trying to fight the growing tiredness and unpleasent numbness spreading across her entire body, just as her skin slowly began to become paler with each second.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- Truly when Vice and the rest of the group saw the dragon that Vice nicknamed "Smaug" during the fight, he wasn't expecting the outcome from the fight to be..."gruesome. Vice looked at Hamaki with widened eyes, he saw her..."missing hand". '...Hamaki's hand got...slashed off...by the Dragon...' Vice thought as he still stared at Hamaki with his widened and shocked eyes.
- Vice clenched his hands in frustation, he wondered why did that happened to one of his "friends" and why it had to be happen on Hamaki. "..." Vice stayed in silence as he just looked down on the ground in frustation, Hamaki and the rest of the group had won against the Dragon nicknamed "Smaug" by Vice....but at what cost? Hamaki got her hand cut clean by the Dragon.
- Vice quickly rushed to Hamaki's aid just like she rushed to his aid while he fought against the two Crustaceans Yokais. "Hamaki!" Vice said with worry on the tone of his voice as he began running to where Hamaki stood after defeating the Dragon and getting her hand cut.
- (Vice Pyro)
- With the dragon first approaching, Balder tried to talk with the beast, but it had no reconsildation of thought or even thought to have a soul. The beast was at least 20 feet high from the ground and even more so on its hign legs. Tatsuo didn't know how to comprehend the kind of monstrucity Balder's family had been through to have a whole dragon on their island.
- Rosenbergs were people, Tatsuo thought must have been strong to even attempt to have a creature here and moreso of anything to have it guard anything. Tatsuo took out his blade and swung it furiously and managed to damage the dragon quite a bit. The dragon was begining to easy at first. Though it wasn't until Balen was struck down in a moment.
- "BALEN!"
- Tatsuo had promised Balder that he would take care of Balen for him while he was gone and he wasn't going to let some dragon gobble him whole. Not again. Tatsuo rushed out and kicked the dragon in the side and made it collapse against the wall. Luckily the dragon was almost down for the count, so Tatsuo had enough time to finish the dragon off for the moment.
- Soon after, The dragon rose high and began to become angier. Tatsuo didn't know why this was going on, but after the next battle everyone was down for the count. The dragon had though it had won, but everyone soon rose up and took the creature down with no thought about later on.
- Clash......Slice......
- The deed was done and now the dragon was defeated by is daughter, but at the cost of her own body.
- "Hamaki!!!!"
- Tatsuo saw her hand fly off into the distance though she seemed fine, it was a matter of time before she began to feel the pain.
- Tatsuo began to grab the hand from close toward the dragaon and got close to Hamaki and frowned.
- Tatsuo sighed as he saw everything that happened, though he would put the hand in a block of ice magic for the time being.
- "Hamaki....when we get home...Ill fix your hand for you...I promise."
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- Balen quickly moved on to charging at the dragon, spear held out at this point as the child moved on to attempting to scratch the beast. Sadly, such didn't happen. The dragon proved to live up to its name, and even in such a terrible condition it managed to give a good fight. The very thickness of its skin had provided excellent armor, and due to it being a Dragon in general it had amazing fire prowess. Balen moved on to conjuring his shield of energy as he tried to stop the sudden impact of fire waves being hurled at him as well as the rest of the group. Sadly for Balen though, he'd encountered a new problem.
- The flames had been way to hot, and his shield couldn't take much more, it soon broke, and Balen moved back as far as possible as he tried to rethink his strategy. Tatsuo and the rest had been fighting perfectly, their combo's, magically and physically were hurting the dragon. Maybe Balen needed to try as well. He decided not to charge in head first this time around, and instead sent his own wave of magical supportation techniques. Suddenly commanding the winds around the beast as well as conjuring a large enough energy constraint to halt the beast for a moment.
- When done, Balen knew his only option now was to fight. He couldn't allow the rest of them to battle like fearless warriors while he sat back, casting magic. Balen quickly moved forward. His entire purpose now being to damage and assist. Once close, Balen avoided yet another tail whip coming for him, and went on to jabbing the dragon in the tail. Afterwards, Balen decided to use his fathers technique. Soon disturbing the vision of the dragon, and making it see Balen's spear move in not one, not two, but three motions in one instance.
- Balen used this to confuse the beast, and continued his assualt as he slashed away just before Hamaki had come forward, slashing at the Dragon, and utterly ending it in this moment with the help of her friends. Balen landed on the ground, seeing things in slow motion as the dragon slowly fell to the ground in defeat, yet at the safe time, blood from Hamaki also floating within the air. Had she been hurt?
- Balen paid close attention to her once she was on the ground, and sudenly he could see it. Her hand...Her hand had been gone! Balen would clench his fist, tears now flowing down the boys face. He'd done it. He'd failed one of his friends, and didn't protect them. Balen would grow angry, soon facing a pillar of rock that had been in front of him, and punching it in anger. Rubble soon falling to the ground, and Balen still crying at this point, yet facing towards Hamaki as he'd say "T-Thank you, Hamaki. If you weren't here with me, I wouldn't of been able to get this far onto my Ancestor's island without you."
- His head lowered, and he looked onward. Stopping here wasn't going to happen. The rest could leave for all Balen cared, but Balen was here for his father. He would fulfil what the man had wanted to do without any thoughts to the consequences. The child would begin to walk, anger filling him as the thought of Hamaki's injury continued to lurk within his head. Only Ryujin could save whatever beast had been lurking deeper within the cave.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- They trudge on.
- From the domain of one beast, into the lair of the Devil. When would it end? Their loss, their suffering. Probably pretty soon if things continued the way they did, and their luck wans't too bad.
- Venturing deep within, after all is said, and done with Smaug, and his remains- tending to Hamaki, apologies given; tears, and grief shed. A beautiful moment of touching empathy cut short now by the appearance fo the damned.
- The indirect reason for their suffering. Volrana stands there -- a quaking existence that threatened them all. Upon his molten throne, positioned upon his back being the heirloom product of the Rosenbergs. A spear imbued with powers beyond belief, and this creature- this psuedo-perfect monstrosity that teetered on the edges of evolution.
- A humanoid shape, yet not entirely so. A body that was bulky in some respects- beyond disbelief; horns protruding, eyes as black cole, the sclera of which are a vile, and overbearing crimson. For them, it might appear as though they have ran into the Devil themselves in this space.
- An entity that new only war, conqueroring, and suffering. Fit for battle, and nothing more. When he sees them- he rises, and with that came heat; fire, blaze, rage...
- While holding onto Hamki as she was seeming to whimper in pain, Tatsuo tried to make her feel better but all was not for that when the group reached down the caves, they ended up closing in to a strange being.
- The being was humanoid and it seemed it was similar to that of a yokai, like Tatsuo. The being had horns on top of it s head and even had a blade on its back. Was this an Imperfect? it had been a long time since Tatsuo seen one before hand. He didn't know what to tell the children, though a few words came up.
- "Becareful children.....It seems we have met an Imperfect...."
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- They trekked further and further into the mountain. Only to find yet another obstacle. Yet another creature to stand in their way. Except this time, the creature was humanoid. It was vile and made Magnus' stomach churn just looking at it. All the reasons he hated Occult Magic for were now personified. He was not happy about this development to say the least.
- He gripped his staff hard, fingers biting into the wood causing it to creak under the stress. The demon was terrifying in appearance, but for once in his life Magnus was filled with zealous fury. He gritted his teeth as his magic ran its course. Branches of thorns growing from his ring perforating his hand, letting the blood run down his arm and into an orb in his hand. The orb began to sublime into a crimson gas that surrounded Magnus. He was ready to fight to what would likely be, the end.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- She really needed to consider NOT going to creepy islands with friends... although, she supposed it was a bit more entertaining than standing guard in Frostvale for two more years... she thought they'd be done, after the Ookami was... in need of a hand, but, for some reason, the troop of idiots decided to continue marching on, with her relucantly following, not wanting to be left alone in the cave.
- Oh, hey, was taht a huma-... She stared at the monstrosity, before letting out a long, shuddering sigh. First, two Yokai's, the, a dragon, now? NOW!? There... there shouldn't even BE a now! She didn't WANT there to be a now! It should've ended with the deadly bloody dragon!
- She started yelling out obsceneties at the top of her lungs, considering smashing her skull into the walls of the cave, but figuring that'd probably hurt a tad bit... anyways, after her little tangent of swears, she stared at the... thing. Fire, cool, great, yeah, hadn't had ENOUGH of that today!
- She glanced enviously over at Balen's hand, she should've just taken the ring and left while they were all fighitng the dragon... she probably could've made up a convincing enough story for the ferryman, but, stupid guilty concious of hers... or, well, her respect for Ran'ko, had stopped her.
- "AGH!" she yelled, she seemed to be doing that quite alot lately, she really should've just kept the ring for herself, huh? Whatever, what had been done had been done, and, after a few more choice words, she unsheathed her sword once again, glaring at the cr-YOKAI!?
- Oh, great!
- Fantastic!
- <FUCK.THIS.>
- She was THIS close to giving up, she could run at a... fairly quick pace, she could get away while everyone else tried to deal with this... thing. However, seeing Magnus get into a fighting position, she stared at her sword, was it really worth it?
- Were some family heirlooms worth her life? Was the possible safety of some people she considered friends worth her life?
- No, they weren't.
- <Ran'ko would be ashamed if I ran...>
- That one thought kept her feet steady, magma encasing her body, she let out another shout, this one managing to have... words that weren't just endless curses in it. "DIE YOU SACK OF SHIT!"...Okay, well, one or two curses, maybe.
- This would be her way to honor Ran'ko's sacrifice, she'd kill THIS Yokai, along with all the rest on Valmasia... this was step 1, though.
- (Clairea Grey)
- Once again, Vice wasn't expecting things to go the way they did, Hamaki's left hand had gotten cut clean by Smaug and right now, an unknown person appeared out of nowhere and was facing the group that consisted of Vice, Hamaki, Balen, Magnus, Clairea and Tatsuo. '..Everything has been going to crap recently...I wonder why...' Vice sarcastically thought with while he looked at Volrana with simply no care at all, Vice then got his sword from his back and prepared just in case the unknown person may try to attack the group.
- '...Why do I feel this uneasy feeling coming from him...That guy doesn't even look like a human...is he possibly a...Yokai?' Vice thought as he still stared at his group gripping his sword as he felt a unease feeling coming from the unknown stranger.
- "...Does anyone here feel anything..."weird"?" Vice asked the rest of the group before he complemented his own question. "...Or is it just me, because I'm a Holy user?" Vice added to his original question, wondering why exactly he felt "weird".
- (Vice Pyro)
- Anger.
- It filled the child at this point, and he wanted revenge for whatever source had brought so much evil onto his Ancestors land. The land his father had treasured so much, and searched for years only to not be able to come himself. Still, Balen hoped that the man was accepting the fact that his son had been there with him, and if so then Balen would surely fight whatever evil off that had come their way. Speaking of such an evil, one greater than any Kaor or dragon Balen has seen just appeared.
- A humanoid, sort of, seeming being suddenly being seen deeper into the caves. The man, woman, monster, had sat upon a throne of nothing but molten rocks. Balen clenched his fist even tighter, the air suddenly suffocating the child for the moment as it seems the very presence of the devil before them had made Balen simply forget to breathe. He'd soon exhale, and continued to stare at its disgusting figure. Had it been this monster? Was this the one that caused so much pain and damage to the Rosenbergs centuries ago?
- Balen would step forward, a speech suddenly being given to his friends in this moment it seems. "You guys..." he'd start, voice somewhat quite as he felt afraid to even speak with them at first. "N-No..." a sigh suddenly being made. He needed to man up. Not just for him or the friends there helping him, but for his father. "I can understand if you guys want to leave. This problem...This monster is a Rosenberg's problem." he thought of Hamaki then. "Mr. Tatsuo....It's becase I invited your daughter that she got hurt, I can understand you not wanting to stay here with me any more. And the rest of you. Vice, Magnus...I've put you in danger already only because I wanted to find the relics of my ancestors just like my father had so wished."
- A tear had fallen once more from the childs face. He was obviously still emotional. "But...If you all stay here with me. Not just for me, but for my fathers dream as well...Well I'll be in debt to you all." his head lowered only for a moment as he thanked his father for such a marvelous oppurtunity to actually see and step on the island of his ancestors. Soon taking a step forward with his head once more lifting up, he'd draw his spear and focus on Volrana. "Either way I plan on beat- no..." it was time he grew up. Evil only hurt people, and there was one way to get rid of it. "I will kill this monster."
- The childs mana began to bubble until finally bursting around his form then, his energy shroud radiating that fantastic blue whilst his spear focused upon targeting the monster before them. "I will make sure my fathers dream is seen." he'd say finally. Prepared to fight against the devilish fiend before them.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- With her hand bandaged and after gulging on bittery tasting basic potion of her own, the ookami forced herself on her feet while growling and hissing loudly from pain. Her white clothes and hair now stained with drying crimson, as if done by some mad artist who swiped their brush against clean cavanas, starting their painting.
- The teen held her weapon in her right hand, just as she marched with her fathers help, deeper into the caverns, as it appeared their work was not done. Sudden stop forced her to lift her now pale looking head up, with her blured vistion staring at what appeared to be the reason behind their sudden stop, soon clarified by her father. To her surprise, she for the first time was seeing something she never imagined to even meet, from a dragon down to imperfect yokai.
- Creature well known from stories and legends, now sitting before her on the throne, staring at them. The ookam iwhimpered quietly and slowly moved her right arm higher, just as she bent her knees, preparing to at leas attempt to fight, not wanting to suddenly become uselss, just because she lost her hand. She forced herself to ignore both, her fear and agonizing pain, just for sake of survival as their opponent wasn't anything to laugh from.
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- It was some sort of imperfect creature; perhaps not truly imperfect -- had it been imperfect.. They would not have exited this building; the monster however is something of the likes of Demergo Veltican -- an ascended Kaor whom had achieved shapeshifting.. Though it was not truly that of an imperfect; it was rather close.. A pseudo-creature. An ascended Kaor Yokai.
- Either way; fire, magma, and steam roil off of it's form; the ascended, infernal creature burning up the earth and the water around him -- superheating so that touching it would destroy the human body.. If they were unlucky, of course. But the creature's fighting prowess seemed to be horrible; even with the Rosenberg's spear upon his back, the heirloom proves useless.
- They had hit at him too hard; perhaps overwhelming it. Not all Yokai were capable of fighting groups, of course -- all Yokai could be felled with superior numbers. Three orbs of fire slowly begin to form into something alike infernal elemental yokai -- before they explode...
- ... Taking the Arm of Vice Pyro -- the limb burning off so easily..
- ... Then Tatsuo is the one to slay the monster.
- (Volrana)
- With the battle going on, Tatsuo was begining to remember the Imperfect on the Fairy Isle. The way he talked the way he fought. It felt very annoying to look back on.
- "Oh you mean my pets?"
- Tatsuo was restarting to remember what the imperfect said to him about his sister. THat she was a chew toy for his "Pets" and that she lowly garbage. The vialness in his voice in his hatred toward humans in the deepest of manner. The pungent smell of blood always filled the air as his family had to sacrafice their blood to feed the Imperfect and the way he talked to them was unforgiving. The Imperfect was so violent and didn't hesitate to take something from Tatsuo. Not only his leg, but his pride, his love for his sister, his love for his family, and just stomp on it like it was nothing.
- Tatsuo's mind began to break widly as the childdren kept fighting the Imperfect. Mist began forming around it. The mist was eroding off of Tatsuo's eye lik it was some kind of fire in his mind like his rage only proceeded him and wanted to gain control. The untold information that the eye held lead Tatsuo to a brink of madness trying to forget the pain he suffered all those years ago. The pain of loss and the pain from shame. Imperfects were just forgiving Yokai who needed to be destroyed. All imperfects had no right to live and deserved to die from all the lives they tok and the lives they mocked.
- "No.....more...!"
- With those few words, Tatsuo's eye began to further emit the smoke particales around his eye. He didn't know why but he began to feel an abnormal power fuel his body and gave him the drive to fuel his rage on the Imperfect.
- Tatsuo's movements were almost frightening and they weren't able to catch up for a split moment before he began to give the Imperfect a pounding. He didn't know what came over him, but his hatred of the yokai only gave him strength to kill him.
- With the yokai now on the ground departed and dispatched, Tatsuo began to charge a small lightning bolt into his palm and charged it enough to where it gave a bright light into the cave. Tatsuo looked down to the passed out Yokai and spoke a few words to himself.
- 'This is for Yuzu...."
- The lightning in Tatsuo's hand began to die down a bit as his emotions became intuned, but he didn't care. With Tatsuo's palm he struck the body of the imperfect with great velocity and punched him in the back giving his body just a shock it needed to kill him.
- "Well.....I guess this is over now...."
- With that Tatsuo's mist began to die out and he felt incredibly tired. He would take a seat against the nearest wall for a moment to take his breath.
- When Tatsuo and the others would get home he had a lot of work to do.
- (Tatsuo Ryozo-Nagano)
- The battle was hard, and Magnus had used a lot of blood and a lot of mana, but they had managed to bring the Yokai down after a long struggle. They had managed to use actual teamwork, using hit and run tactics they overwhelmed the Yokai with their numbers. But again, they did not come out of this wholly unscathed. This time is was the young Vice, and he had lost a lot more than just a hand.
- Again, Magnus felt helpless as he wasn't the best healer here and he could not do anything for Vice without making reattaching the arm more difficult. Magnus simply planted another healing tree and directed it's soothing pollen over a small gust of wind. It was the least and the most he could do for him. Well, they had done it, they had gotten Balen his ancestral heirlooms and they had saved the day and all that nonsense. Magnus was just tired. These had been the hardest fights he had faced yet and he had felt at least somewhat useful in them, which was a plus.
- He struck his staff in the ground, roots forming out from the base, planting itself in the ground. He sat with it inbetween his legs and rest his head against the handle. He breathed heavily for a moment before lying down onto his back. He finally released the magic on his left hand and the thorns retracted back into the ring on his finger. Leaving his punctured arm to rapidly scab over all the wounds.
- He looked out over everyone else. At least Clairea had come out unscathed. He didn't want her to go through more rehab so soon. He didn't think she'd survive more of his lessons. He chuckled at the thought, at least these hardships didn't damage his sense of humour. He clambered up to his feet and awaited for their next objective, uprooting his staff and returning it to normal.
- (Magnus Brakkacia)
- She had done her all... she had GIVEN it her all, and it was NOTHING! She couldn't... she couldn't do anything! It... it was like her attacks didn't... they didn't even do anything to the creature, everyone else did all the work, while she was just... USELESS! USELESS USELESS USELESS USLESS! She stuffed her hands into her pockets, and, retracing their steps, stormed out of the cave, awaiting the ferryman.
- Her running would'nt've done ANYTHING, she didn't do ANYTHING, she... GAH! She was pissed at herself, she was just... so... ANGRY! SHE was the reason that everyone had to fight those crab Yokai, and she hadn't been useful in that fight either..
- She was nothing but a nuiscance the entire trip, even on the way there, she had been seasick many times, she couldn't... she wasn't going to go on that ferry boat again, with the creepy ferry-man, she was gonna stay on the island, it seemed... it seemed nice, it seemed full of danger.
- It was something better than Frostvale, it was a hellhole, and, one way or another, she was going to DO something on this island, maybe build a shrine, maybe just... try and live the rest of her life here... but, she wasn't going to go back to Frostvale a complete and utter faliure.
- She just couldn't.
- (Clairea Grey)
- Hamaki sighed as she observed the rest of the fight from distance, sitting on the ground, catching her breath, exhusted and drained from everything that happened. She stared as her father brought end to her father, smiling faintly and soon closing her eyes, trying to focus on regaining her energy. Resting as much as she possibly could, just before spotting that her friend Vice lost his entire arm, she growled quietly and soon forced herself up on her feet before deciding to walk towards her friend, trying to do whatever she could to help him..
- (Hamaki I. Ryozo)
- Balen, just like the others quickly stepped forward. The Imperfect before them had gone on to preparing. Already moving from its throne and attacking the warriors before it. Balen quickly set forward, attacking his his spear with great speed and incredible strength. The flames had been just as hot as the dragons, maybe even hotter honestly. Balen quickly stepped back, his energy shield forming about his body as he once more moved forward. The boy was quick and exact in his attacks. He hadn't missed, nor did he plan on doing such a thing.
- Balen's spear moved quickly and fluently as he continued to use his fathers technique. The spear moving fast than usual simply because of the illusion magic the boy had used, messed with the devils senses if only for a bit, and giving Balen the advantage. He worked with the rest, moving out of the way when Tatsuo needed to blast the beast with water or something, and charging forward when one warrior needed a quick rest. Balen fought on and on along with the others until -it- happened.
- Suddenly, the child had been faced with a sudden barrage of rocks, some hitting others, and some hitting Balen. Such damage had been quite a lot for the boy, and he fell back onto the ground, injured beyond belief. Was this it for the child? Would he really not be able to avenege his own Ancestors here and now? Balen fell onto the ground, slowly slipping away into a deep sleep.
- He wanted to fight onwards, but did he really have the strengt? It did not seem so. Balen was slowly falling into the deep sleep, only soon to die by the very hands of this devilish yokai. Though, in this instance of the child falling into his deep sleep, a sudden power was felt. A voice had been heard.
- " Boy? Will you really live as a Rosenberg like this? On your ass, and down in the dumps? HAH! Weak I say, weak! You'll stand now, and fight...You'll fight with the power of your spear...With the power of a Rosenberg!"
- The child's body twitched if only for a second just before the blue light once more began to radiate from his form. Balen had once more stood, a new sort of power now radiating about the child at this point. Balen immediatly charged forward then, forcing himself towards the yokai as his spear moved even faster than ever, and made contact with the beast harder than ever. Over and over again, Balen would attack, this new found power even making the childs energy aura suddenly turn some different sort of color.
- As he did this though, he quickly moved back, Tatsuo now going in for the kill. Luckily he did because it seems Balen had used up all that he had in this moment. Suddenly, the child's energy shroud, though a lighter blue color, would drop, and his spear would as well. The boy suddenly fell to the floor, passed out as it seems he'd used up to much energy in this moment. The voice had now returned.
- " That's the way a Rosenberg fights dammit!"
- Where had such a thing come from? Whatever the case, Balen had passed out now, unknowing of what was going on currently around him. Hopefully his friends would be gracious enough to actually aid him back to the boat because Ryujin knows he couldn't do it alone.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- Vice sighed as he now looked at himself, everything seemed to go to crap as the adventure at the island, and now Vice's luck clearly abandoned him for real. The fight against Volrana was fierce, fortunately for the group, Tatsuo managened to kill Volrana, no one in the group got injured...except Vice the black-hooded adventurer himself got his entire left arm slashed off by Volrana while taking a hit for white-haired Ookami named Hamaki.
- During the fight against the Imperfect Yokai, Volnara casted a Earth spell that was directed at Hamaki but however, Vice quickly got in front of her to protect her from the attack...but unfortunately for our "favorite adventurer" he got his left arm cut off by Volrana's attack. "AAHHH!" Vice screamed in both pain and agony upon feeling his left arm being ripped out of his body.
- However, he got used to the pain quickly as he stood up using all of his strength and will, he turned his gaze towards Hamaki to ask her a simple question. "...Please tell me you're not injured by that attack." Vice said quickly in a calm tone towards Hamaki.
- (Vice Pyro)
- The results are definite. With Volrana defeated, the spear of Tribesman returned to the rightful. Among them being one Rosenberg, and so- it's blessing bestowed. With the yielding of the creatures comes a flourishing arrya of blinding spectral-blue lights that show power slipping.
- All that held within, trapped at one point- now expended. The spear weakening, it's capabilities... limited. For the time being -- a trinket that would grow with it's wielder should the rightful one come along.
- One to tap into what was his, and rooted there for him to take up the mantle of in the future. For now, only the faint whispers of realms beyond them are there. The call of forefathers too far dulled to be heard amidst all the grief, and the prolonged loss. The spear falling actually into the hands of the one to suffer the most this time- Pyro taking hold of it.
- For in the wake of his loss, he seemed ot have gaine dsomething else. Something not meant for him, but for whatever reason- it falls into his grasp. The Heirloom weapon of the Rosenbergs, and one of the reasons for this journey- now within the hands of a stranger; upon it there also the markings that correlate to the family line, and any who hold the name.
- Balen had been taken to the boat along with the rest of his friends. They'd done well at the island, and Balen couldn't of thanked them enough for actually coming along with him to fight off the evil upon his home of Ancestors. Balen didn't wake up until he'd made it back home, at least almost. They were at least 30 minutes away from actually arriving on shore when he awoke from his slumber. He'd stay seated. Looking around at everyone as he noticed the good and bad about each of them at this point.
- First it had been Hamaki. Her hand was gone, a tragic loss no doubt. On top of that, she'd seem more wiery than ever. Maybe bringing her along was a bad idea. He should've brought some other warrior rather putting her in danger like this. Balen would sigh some, his eyes scanning more now. Soon seeing Vice as well who had the spear lined with Rosenberg markings upon it. Balen hadn't said anything as of yet, but he knew he would less his father be dissapointed even in death. Still, that wasn't all that mattered here. Instead, what seemed to matter here was that Vice's entire arm had now been gone.
- Balen couldn't help but shed a tear after seeing such a thing, and thus he did...many. Vice did so for Balen, on this trip, he was a hero. Balen would sigh some, glad that someone like Vice would actually give up the chance of having two arms to destroy a monster trespassing on Rosenberg land. Balen would lightly smile a bit then just before moving on to looking around more. The rest seemed beaten, saddned a bit, yet happy to still hold their lives. Wait...No. Where was Clairea? Balen looked around for the girl, but couldn't find her...A sad expression soon creeping up on him.
- She obviously decided to stay, why was unknown. Hopefully they could meet again one day. Once actually docking, Balen would stand, unloading the ship and what not and soon thanking the ferryman for his services. Balen's servants had already been lined up, each of them holding different boxes within their hands it seems. Balen would nod towards them a smile given just before he limped around and looked at his friend. "E-Excuse me..." he'd start.
- "I just...I just want to thank all of you. I understand this trip was...It wasn't easy at all. We all suffered a big loss, and we all put our lives on the line for my fathers biggest dream ever. Something he's worked his entire life just to find." he'd lower his head, crying once again. "I just want to thank all of you for coming and helping me find what I could that was leftover of my ancestors...That is why, I want to give you all these." he'd gesture towards the servants then.
- They soon moved on, walking towards the group with the boxes in hand, and soon handing them over. One box for each person. They weren't extremely heavy or anything, but they surely weren't feathers sitting in there. "My dad, a smith as well, has a lot of minerals and material. A lot of it I don't know what to really do with, so I will give some to you in order to thank you all for the help you've given me." should they open it, they'd all begin to find their sweet sweet surprises!
- That hadn't been all Balen needed to say it seems though. "Vice...Can I talk to you?"
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- Hamaki would seen be leaving. She seeming to obviously be tired here. Balen would nod his head. "I understand...Thank you for everything, Hamaki." he'd say with a serious glare. Soon after thanking everyone else just before looking to Vice who'd lost an arm just for coming. Balen would be silent for a moment. Unsure at first of how to begin even talking. "I...Y-..." he'd sigh some, finally just speaking from the heart. "You did a lot for me, and the rest of us here today, Vice. I won't lie to you...In the past, i've been...Suspect of you because you called me annoying." he'd go on to laughing then, name calling obviously didn't matter when it came to a real situation such as the island.
- "For reasons, i've had to question some of my friendships because I don't know who I can and can't trust." A hand now moving out towards Vice. "You are someone I can trust, Vice." Balen stayed silent for a moment just before pulling him in for a hug and crying a bit. Damn this kid cried a lot. "I'm sorry that you lost your arm becase of me!" he'd quickly apologize then, holding the boy tighter and tighter.
- Soon though he'd let go, and moved on to kneeling down before Vice. A way of showing respect towards another. His father taught him this. "With your efforts, we were able to not only make it out alive, but we were able to defeat those monsters there, and still bring back a part of my Ancestors." his head would raise, looking the teen in the eye now. "As a favor, as someone in debt to all you've done, Vice. I ask that you give to me what my father has searched for all of his life. The spear of our family."
- Asking something like such even when Vice had basically lost an arm over it was a bit skeptical in itself. Though, Balen had done such a thing for his father. The man cared about family, and so did Balen. He couldn't allow his families treasured heirloom, something that his father had searched many decades to find, only to be handed down to someone not of the blood. The choice had now been Vice's, and Balen the teens decision.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- Vice simply gave Balen a very blank stare as he said his goodbye to Hamaki that was leaving to her home right now. After taking another boat back to Frostvale, Vice wondered what he was gonna do now with his missing left arm. '...Great, now I have only one arm, I suppose that Tatsuo could give me a new arm due to his runic-magic abilitities...' Vice thought as he scratched his chin with his only arm.
- "...I've been...suspecting you because you called me annoying." Vice raised his eyebrow while he still gave Balen a blank stare, he instantly remembered one of his childhood's memories upon hearing Balen's words. '...Good times, I had two arms back then....but did Balen seriously remember that for years...?' Vice sarcastically thought as he still gave Balen a blank stare that looked deeply into Balen's eyes while Vice put his only hand on the pockets of his black loose jacket.
- However, when Balen got into his knees and begged Vice for forgiveness, the black-hooded teen with only one arm knew that he went too far with his..."blank stare". '...Okay...I may have gone a little bit too far trying to make Balen feel guilty...,/i>' Vice thought as he looked down at Balen on the ground with his knees.
- "...I ask that you give to me what my father has searched for all of his life. The spear of our family." Balen asked Vice for the spear that he got from the island adventure. Vice raised his eyebrow upon hearing Balen's request. '...So he asks for forgiveness and then asks for his family's spear, I guess I'm gonna give it to him, I don't even use spears after all.' Vice thought as he looked at Balen's eyes.
- Vice quickly pulled out of his rucksack the spear that Balen begged for and slowly handed it to Balen. "...Sure, I may have lost an arm...but I can get it back by Tatsuo's rune magic surely right?" Vice said while he looked at Balen's eyes as patted Balen's head with his only hand.
- (Vice Pyro)
- Balen W. Rosenberg: guess not
- Balen would look up now. A hard stare given towards Vice at this point as he'd stand up, lifting the boy up with him. "Thank you thank you thank you!" he'd shout. He had done it. He'd gotten the spear. Finally his father could be happy even within the next life. Rosenbergs heirlooms had been returned to the household, and Balen was obviously happy about each and everymoment of it.
- He'd set the child down, soon after hold out his hands as he awaited to graciously be handed his ancestors spear.
- (Balen W. Rosenberg)
- With the island mission over with, Tatsuo had two injured children and barely a scratch on the rest. Tatsuo couldn't help but feel guilty.
- When the gang returned to the mainland Balen offereed everyone a few crates of items that could help them. Seeing that Hamaki can do much, Tatsuo took 2 crates for him and his daughter and opened them. Inside Hamaki's box was a few sheets of steel and in Tatso's case there were a few pieces of lumber Iron Oak. Tatsuo didn't know what to use the lumber for but he nodded to Balen for the gift and took Hamaki home.
