  1. *** Recipe lookup site: psandwich.io
  2. *** Updated 12/12/2023: Information is fully complete!
  3.
  4. BASIC INFORMATION
  5. All sandwich ingredients contain hidden values that have been datamined. You can see a listing of values here: https://serebii.net/scarletviolet/sandwichingredients.shtml
  6. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cHY8_SEP50bCZYCBb3V4MPq20xLPN5JXKrEtF1FNbNI/
  7. When added to a sandwich, some filling ingredients have multiple pieces, and their contribution to the recipe is multiplied by the number of pieces successfully added to the sandwich. The powers and types in the sandwich are determined by the highest values contributed by the sum of all ingredients. The top half of the baguette is a special ingredient with all values equal to zero, so it makes no difference if you add it to the sandwich or not. Furthermore, your choice of pick makes no difference and is simply an aesthetic choice.
  8.
  9.
  10. FLAVOR BONUS
  11. The highest flavor in a sandwich will add +100 of a power to the sandwich as listed below, but only if the total value of that flavor is 16 or higher:
  12.
  13. Sweet: Egg Power +100
  14. Salty: Encounter Power +100
  15. Sour: Teensy Power +100
  16. Bitter: Item Drop Power +100
  17. Hot: Humungo Power +100
  18.
  19. However, if the two highest flavors are the following (with no particular order), it will result in these powers instead, and it doesn't require the minimum value of 16:
  20.
  21. Sweet + Hot: Raid Power +100
  22. Sweet + Sour: Catching Power +100
  23. Salty + Bitter: Exp. Point Power +100
  24.
  25. Flavor value ties are resolved in this order, chosen from left-to-right:
  26. Sweet, Salty, Sour, Bitter, Hot
  27.
  28.
  29. POWER AND TYPE
  30. After all power values are added up, the top three values are chosen and then ordered from highest to lowest.
  31. Power value ties are resolved in this order, chosen from left-to-right:
  32. Egg Power, Catching Power, Exp. Point Power, Item Drop Power, Raid Power, Humungo Power, Teensy Power, Encounter Power
  33.
  34. The highest three type values are chosen and ordered from highest-to-lowest, then paired with the powers of the same rank.
  35. Type value ties are resolved in this order, chosen from left-to-right:
  36. Normal, Fighting, Flying, Poison, Ground, Rock, Bug, Ghost, Steel, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark, Fairy
  37. However, the final two types are swapped when pairing with the powers. For Egg Power, the type is still paired, but simply isn't shown.
  38.
  39. If the top type is 280 or higher, then the type assigned to the top power is assigned to the second power as well, shifting down the type that would be assigned to the second power to the third one instead. In that case, the third power will be assigned the third highest type due to the aforementioned swap.
  40. Finally, if the highest type is 480 or higher, then all powers will be assigned the top type.
  41.
  42.
  43. LEVEL
  44. To get a power of level 2 or higher, the total value for that power must be 100 or higher. In addition, to get level 2 of a power, the type value assigned to that power must be at least 180, and for level 3, it must be at least 480. However, for the third power in a recipe, it cannot be a higher level than the highest power. Additionally, for the third power to achieve level 2, its assigned type and the highest type must both be at least 280.
  45. This is summarized by the following table:
  46.
  47. MINIMUM (POWER, TYPE) VALUE REQUIREMENTS
  48. 1st Place Power | 2nd Place Power | 3rd Place Power
  49. Level 1 1, 1 | 1, 1 | 1, 1
  50. Level 2 100, 180 | 100, 180 | 100, 280*
  51. Level 3 100, 480 | 100, 480 | 100, 480*
  52. * 1st place must also meet the same requirements of 3rd place for 3rd place to increase in level.
  53.
  54.
  55. ADDITIONAL CASE
  56. If all six fillings are the same large filling, and the level of the first power is 2, then the second power's level will be 2. These are the large fillings: Fried Fillet, Hamburger, Noodles, Potato Salad, Rice, or Potato Tortilla.
  57.
  58.
  59. HERBA MYSTICA
  60. Herba Mystica add 1000 Title Power and 250 to all types. With at least one Herba Mystica, the power requirement for the second power is removed, making it always level 2, and if the top type is at least 280, the third power will be level 2 as well. Additionally, adding two or more Herba Mystica will add Sparkling Power and remove the power requirement for the third power as well, making all powers level 3. Sparkling Power and Title Power will be the top two powers, leaving only the third power changeable.
  61. In single player, the maximum values of a recipe make it impossible to get 280 in a type without at least one Herba Mystica and it's also impossible in single player to get 480 in a type without two Herba Mystica.
  62.
  63.
  64. PRESET RECIPES
  65. The rules here apply to creative mode sandwiches only, and not the recipes obtained in-game. If you make a sandwich matching the recipe of a named sandwich, no ingredient stats are checked, and you will simply get the powers preset for that sandwich. If the completion screen says a custom name instead of "A Tasty <Name> Original," that means it's a preset game recipe.

    1. This is some awesome information, I have been making way too many sandwiches my self. I can't however find out how to make a power level 2 no matter what I do, do you know what the qualifications are to have the power be 2?

      1. Working on that right now. Another user through testing has mostly confirmed that Lv. 2 is caused by having the total type value of a type at 180 or higher. This will boost the power attached to that type to Lv. 2.

        1. This seems wrong to me, but only because when I was looking at the sandwich that everyone is using for Level 2 Egg Power, I don't see the number getting that high... Not sure if Egg Power is just an exception, or if I've mathed it wrong somewhere?

              1. Ah, I see, this is a named sandwich by the game. My guess is, the game has a special built-in case for that specific ingredient combination and bypasses all the checks.

                1. Ahh, that makes sense... Makes me want to test it, by matching the metrics, and seeing if I can get the same outcome, lol

    1. Do you have any information about the recipes from this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonScarletViolet/comments/z82i4o/updated_english_sparkling_power_recipe_chart_with/ ?
    2.
    3. I just tested cucumber + pickle + 3x onion + spicy herba mystica + bitter herba mystica, and I successfully got lv3 Encounter Power Psychic, lv3 Title Power Psychic, and lv3 Sparkling Power Psychic. Since Salty Herba Mysticas are a huge choke point, being able to use additional normal ingredients to circumvent this is huge and in my opinion merits further investigation.
