  1. Long before Shengdao was the homeland, there existed an ancient feudal village. On the outskirts of the town was an expansive golden tillage, covered in tall radiant wheat. Sitting in the middle lay a tall and crooked gray house, the home of a budding sorcerer with green eyes—A practitioner of magic. Once a month, he ventured into town to stock up on supplies and resources for his tinctures. But the townsfolk did not take kindly to his presence. They mocked him with ugly names, calling him a fraud and occultist. There was a lot of hatred for magicians of any kind, judged as curses instead of blessings. So the sorcerer did his best to stay away but it caused him to get very lonely.

  3. One day back in his little crooked house he could hear the most beautiful voice drifting through the strange triangular shaped windows. He followed the melody out into the golden fields and he was amazed when his green eyes first laid on her. A slender shiji with glorious flaxen hair that matched the fields. She smiled at him. She had gone all this way to bring him bread from the village! He was speechless and he felt his heart warm that she welcomed him.

  5. They spoke for hours and she told him that she always longed to become an animal whisperer. So he took her to the nearby forests and he showed her all the wondrous animals that lived out in the nature away from the village. She loved him for it and he loved her in return. As time went on she visited often. They began to make plans to get a blessing from the gods to be forever bonded. Alas happily forever after was not to be.

  7. This time as she came to visit him to accept his proposal she was followed by angry villagers. The horizon was ablaze with the flicker of torch flame, aggressive orange and crimson spinning round and round. They had set the field on fire.

  9. The sorcerer fled but he was not able to find his beloved in the surrounding blaze. The plains were destroyed. The sky opened up and for ten thousand hours rain poured, turning the once beautiful grain land into a bog. A decayed stench of dying grasses filled the area where her pleasant song once soared. Fog crept in.

  11. Many years later the sorcerer emerged. Having shifted the surrounding animals hearts with his magic towards dark intent, sorrow, and revenge. Creating great war creatures that would spread into the land and absorb the magic. It was said as he descended upon the village his green eyes menacing and blazing with an unearthly glow, resembling the flames that had consumed his lady. His guttural tone booming throughout the village. He was forever known as Lujing, The Green Eyed Sorcerer.
