  1. I too this from somewhere else, this guy was NOT made by me
  2.

  5. Kiwamianon here with a major breakthrough.
  6.
  7. PERMANENT PS4 Themes that persist through complete shutdown.
  8.
  9. Basically, here's what you do if you want permanent themes:
  10. Make an unlock fpkg for the theme you want, it should be a standard 128kb unlock fpkg (use Radziu's ez_fake_dlc.py script for that).
  11. Say we use the PS2 Theme like the one I used for myself with this, http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net/gs2/acpkgo/prod/CUSA07875_00/3/f_1182241299d0acd510bba3af60e444aaad8ab661e9987d231fd05b0a1ee76666/f/EP9000-CUSA07875_00-PSLEGACYTHEME001.pkg
  12.
  13. You just make an unlock FPKG for it, like this one: https://www47.zippyshare.com/v/ujOF1dT5/file.html
  14.
  15. And here's where the whole trick is - you DON'T use a dump (as in fpkg pirate dump) of the theme, you use the OFFICIAL pkg of it - straight up official pkg of the theme from Sony's servers.
  16. And what you do with it is get both the official pkg and the unlock fpkg on your pendrive.
  17.
  18. Then you install the unlock fpkg one FIRST, this is very important.
  19. AFTER that you install the official pkg of the theme.
  20. It will actually work, it's treated as if you bought it using this method.
  21. I just did it for myself and it worked after full shutdown and reboot, no rest mode involved whatsoever.
  22.
  23. Now I wonder if this trick also works for other things than just themes, imagine if this worked for games and DLC, we could use Sony's own official PKGs without needing any pirate dumps for them, just make your own unlock keys and use Sony's official pkgs.
  24. I am actually going to test this on a game and see if it will work for it.
  25.
  26. Even if it ends up not working for games, this trick working for themes is still a huge breakthrough.
