  2.
  3. Gerald:
  4. Krii, then?
  5. Thrice:
  6. Nah one sec
  7.
  8. Chick:
  9. "Hey! You awake, really heavy princess? We're almost there."
  10.
  11. Gerald:
  12. "Ahh, wonderful... should I know anything about this friend of yours? Am I going to be fire blasted if I don't take off my shoes?"
  13.
  14. Chick:
  15. "What? No, nothing like that. Just don't mistreat your Pokemon or kill anyone. Other than that, you should be okay."
  16.
  17. Gerald:
  18. "That, I can manage. I'm truly sorry if I sound bitter, I'm still wrapping my head around my Uncle's... ah, can I even call it a betrayal, at this point? I really should have seen this coming, but I had hope... ah, but such things shouldn't concern you..." just lemme on the couch
  19.
  20. Gerald:
  21. it's gonna be Oculos I can already feel it
  22.
  23. Chick:
  24. "No, they really don't. Who knows, maybe he'll care? He always cares about the stupidest things..." You arrive at a log cabin with an adjoined log shed/garage, in a forest a bit past the outskirts of Krii Village. When you step near the house, the air temperature suddenly plummets, freezing the very hairs on your arms before they have time to stand up, "Oh, good...it's Hannah."
  25. Gerald: (( are we using a map at all? ))
  26. Hannah:
  27. there
  28. Hannah:
  29. new map
  30. Hannah:
  31. A furrily small piece of blue edges itself out from behind a tree...very timidly, and stares you two down. Well, it nods at Chick, then looks a little terrified of Gerry
  32.
  33. Gerald:
  34. Gerald shivers, rubbing his arms down."Ah! H-hello there." Gerald musters a faint smile for the Glaceon. "How about these cold snaps, hm?"
  35. MeisterWarlock has connected.
  36.
  37. Chick:
  38. "It's just me, Hannah. I've got a...I guess patient is the word? Problem. I've got some problems. Be a sweetheart and let us in, all right?"
  39.
  40. Gerald:
  41. 15 I dunno if charm is useable here but it might be, last thing I need is a corrupt Glaceon to freeze me to death
  42. MeisterWarlock:
  43. "I check for corrupts"
  44. Gerald: (( Dunno if it's corrupt, wasn't rolling for that anyhow - but it's afraid of me and I'd rather it not be ))
  45.
  46. Hannah:
  47. The Glaceon nods happily at you two, and skips toward the house, looking a lot more cheerful. The temperature doesn't quite return to normal, but it's up to 'comfortably cool' from 'if I close my eyes they'll freeze shut'
  48. MeisterWarlock is disconnected.
  49.
  50. Gerald:
  51. and there he goe's
  52.
  53. Chick:
  54. "So can you walk yet, princess?"
  55.
  56. Chick:
  57. "Might be better if you used your own power here. He's not overly fond of those who rely on others."
  58.
  59. Gerald:
  60. "From here, certainly. Again, thanks for the help..."
  61.
  62. Gerald:
  63. good because I'm not overly fond of those who exploit the shit out of others : |
  64. MeisterWarlock has connected.
  65. Thrice:
  66. The house is amazingly enterable, and you're greeted by a...not necessarily strange, but perhaps unexpected sight. Along with a red-shirted man, there are Pokemon littering the room; a large red Junius lying on a rug on the hearth, a tower of bowties that Hannah ran up to when she entered, and another dog thing owning the shit out of a little bed in the corner, which opens an eye and growls at you when you enter.
  67. Gerald: (( >it's fucking Clyde ))
  68. Gerald: (( god dammit Thrice ))
  69.
  70. Gerald:
  71. Gerald sees the Arcanine. Gerald takes off his shoes.
  72. MeisterWarlock: (( he had to spawn him to prevent me from playing him ))
  73.
  74. Red Shirt:
  75. The red shirted man smiles when the door opens, but then looks a little puzzled he sees you, "Imoen? ..who did you bring?" No it's not Clyde lel
  76. MeisterWarlock: (( and I assumed her friend would be karsai ofc ))
  77. MeisterWarlock: (( since he was in gark anyway ))
  78. Red Shirt: (( indeed ))
  79.
  80. Gerald:
  81. "Ah, hello there! I'm... the problem, I suppose. One of them? It sounded as though there were many."
  82. Gerald: (( the name Imoen sounds INCREDIBLY familiar ))
  83. MeisterWarlock: (( generic rocket PTA character ))
  84. Gerald: (( ah ))
  85.
  86. Red Shirt:
  87. It looks like he's just been petting the bigger dog, but stops when you show up. Bigger Dog is not overjoyed at this. "A problem...? Imoen...what happened?"
  88. Gerald: (( Did Norm end up keeping the gem? (waiting) ))
  89. Gerald: (( the green crystal, whatever ))
  90. Gerald: (( obviously Eustace has the main bag ))
  91.
  92. Imoen:
  93. "Idiot nearly got himself killed because of even bigger idiots. OTHER idiots might be chasing him now. It's pretty much a giant idiot ball. I brought him here because let's be real, are there any other safe places around besides Oculos' house?"
  94. MeisterWarlock: (( how many stat points per level ))
  95. MeisterWarlock: (( and do I get "per level" stats for level 1 ))
  96.
  97. Gerald:
  98. "...I suppose that's a fair summary. This idiot's name is Gerald, if you would hear it."
  99. Imoen: (( You get one stat point per level, plus one from any Feature you take that level ))
  100. Imoen: (( If you're a combat class and take the extra stat point thing you also get +1 stat point that must go into Attack or Special Attack every Even level ))
  101. Gerald: (( It's not quite that simple - you start with 10/5/5/5/5/5 distribution at level 1, gain a flat 10 points, get the above, and there's potential for a bonus Attack/SpAttack point if you blah blah he already said it why do I bother ))
  102. Imoen: (( You do get a 'level up' point at level 1, btw ))
  103. MeisterWarlock: (( what is the "extra stat point thing for combat classes" ))
  104. MeisterWarlock: (( just automatic? ))
  105. Imoen: (( technically PTU starts at level 0 ))
  106. Gerald: (( It's an option ))
  107. MeisterWarlock: (( I just generically applied it to Eustace ))
  108. MeisterWarlock: (( when Merge told me to ))
  109. Gerald: (( you get a general feature or the stat points at level 5 ))
  110. Imoen: (( you basically get a choice between an extra General Feature at level 5, or being viable in combat ))
  111. Imoen: (( this is repeated at Level 10, except for Edges ))
  112. Gerald: (( check the book, page 19 ))
  113.
  114. Red Shirt:
  115. "Good of you to introduce yourself. My name is Karsai. Feel free to sit down if you wish."
  116.
  117. Gerald:
  118. I'll just sit down on this box
  119.
  120. Imoen:
  121. "Did they outlaw chairs in your country, or something?" Imoen just goes and sits in the rocking chair by the fire, "Anyway...what now? Are you going to stay here, or go find your...accomplices? Or take revenge, maybe?"
  122.
  123. Gerald:
  124. Gerald leans his face on his hands in exhaustion. "If you don't mind, I think I'd like to rest here a few hours, at least. Maybe I could cook some dinner up for the two of you and your Pokemon as thanks, but I need to get back as soon as I can, before Uncle Eustace gets those girls into even more trouble!"
  125. MeisterWarlock: (( only the rich and powerful are allowed to have chairs where Gerald comes from ))
  126.
  127. Imoen:
  128. "If I were you, I'd be a lot more worried about the murderous muggers than the old man in a wheelchair. I don't think he's that much of a threat."
  129. MeisterWarlock: (( they take their chairs with them everyone as signs of their status ))
  130. MeisterWarlock:
  131. *everywhere
  132. Imoen: (( Richard's chair is his arcanine ))
  133. MeisterWarlock: (( feat that gives option of taking one of two abilities ))
  134. MeisterWarlock: (( can you just take it twice to get both ))
  135.
  136. Gerald:
  137. "He's absolutely a threat! As long as we accompany him he's going to bury his masked nose deeper and deeper into trouble."
  138. MeisterWarlock: (( if it doesn't explicitily say so ))
  139. Imoen: (( Not usually, unless it's a Ranked Feature ))
  140.
  141. Karsai:
  142. "A masked man in a wheelchair? That sounds a little familiar..."
  143.
  144. Gerald:
  145. "The thugs... I don't know, there's too much going on here that I don't understand. Just what on earth was that crystal that made the older man turn like that?"
  146.
  147. Karsai:
  148. "...I'm sorry, did you say crystal? What kind of crystal, exactly?"
  149.
  150. Gerald:
  151. "I don't know, a green one? It was..." Gerald approximates the size with his hands, "...about that big, crystally?"
  152.
  153. Karsai:
  154. "I see. Who has it now?"
  155.
  156. Gerald:
  157. dunno, I asked that OOC
  158.
  159. Gerald:
  160. probably Norm
  161. MeisterWarlock:
  162. Eustace isn't even in the party and can use this as a generic plot ticket
  163. MeisterWarlock:
  164. it is more logically Norm though
  165.
  166. Gerald:
  167. "The old guy on her team, I think. Eustace teleported away with the bag that had the rest of Marley's junk."
  168.
  169. Karsai:
  170. "Rest? You got that crystal from Marley? But I thought he...Hm. How far does this go?" The red shirted man doesn't seem surprised at much of anything, except..."Wait, her?"
  171. MeisterWarlock:
  172. yeah you fucked up.
  173. MeisterWarlock:
  174. You're thrown out onto the cold Norm filled streets.
  175.
  176. Imoen:
  177. "Ah, damn it..."
  178.
  179. Gerald:
  180. "Gaaaah, see, this is why I asked earlier if there were any rules! I don't know your weird loyalties!"
  181.
  182. Karsai:
  183. "By her...do you mean Imoen?"
  184.
  185. Gerald:
  186. Just let Imoen respond to that one
  187.
  188. Karsai:
  189. He's gonna respond to himself after a period of GM silence, like a true PC, "You were working WITH the attackers? For what purpose?"
  190.
  191. Gerald:
  192. "Seriously, if there's a shotgun out back, I can just go take care of it myself. I think the universe is telling me I deserve it at this point."
  193.
  194. Imoen:
  195. "Uhh...blackmail is the straightest answer I can give. I did some stuff you wouldn't be proud of, and they used that against me. Am I in trouble, Mr. Principal?"
  196.
  197. Karsai:
  198. "No, I'm not angry. I'm just...disappointed. In the end, you did the right thing, As for you...what are you talking about, scruffy one?" He forgot your name
  199.
  200. Karsai:
  201. like a true ex-PC
  202. MeisterWarlock: (( edges are all that's used to boost skills right ))
  203. Karsai: (( Ye ))
  204. MeisterWarlock: (( just a whole +1 skill rank in place of edge ))
  205. Gerald: (( besides backgrounds ))
  206. MeisterWarlock: (( yeah ))
  207.
  208. Imoen:
  209. "Yeah, you're never much of anything, are you..."
  210. Imoen: (( it's not really IN PLACE of an Edge, there are Edges that increase your skills ))
  211. Imoen: (( but it functions the same really ))
  212. Imoen: (( Just with level prereqs and such ))
  213. MeisterWarlock: (( So do I only have 4 edges for level 2,4,6,8 ))
  214. MeisterWarlock: (( any edges for level 0 ))
  215. Imoen: (( You get 4 at level 1 ))
  216.
  217. Gerald:
  218. "Nothing, nothing, I suppose... I'm just still on edge, after all that. So what is this, then? Everyone seems to know far more about whatever insanity is happening here than I do - even Uncle knew about the blasted things before we arrived! These vague statements aren't doing me any favors to help me figure out why we were almost just killed."
  219. Imoen: (( Level 0 basically 'doesn't exist', it's just there so that you get a stat point at level 1 ))
  220. Imoen: (( Level 0 Trainers have -nothing- ))
  221. Imoen: (( if you start at L0 you hate life ))
  222.
  223. Gerald:
  224. "Imoen, you heard my uncle's story - despite us being explicitly told not to share it, but I digress - you know that we have at least a vague insight!"
  225.
  226. Karsai:
  227. "I'd like to hear this story, as well. I don't yet have a full picture."
  228.
  229. Imoen:
  230. Imoen and/or Gerald explains the damn Marowcarimarley story
  231.
  232. Gerald:
  233. good, we've learned the basic ability of jump cutting
  234.
  235. Imoen:
  236. there's a problem with jump cutting, you always have to jump over a pit
  237.
  238. Imoen:
  239. danger of falling
  240.
  241. Karsai:
  242. "I see. This makes more sense...I will tell you this: that Pokemon, more likely than not, was a convenient excuse to have you ferry that ore to Oculos."
  243.
  244. Karsai:
  245. the Luke Aurawalker, obv, not the Marowak
  246.
  247. Gerald:
  248. "Well, that's not how it ended up working out. I'd intended to have Oculos take a look at the contents of the bag, but - well, you already heard the story. Between that and Uncle's unspeakable rudeness as we left, I wasn't keen on returning so soon, much less for a favor."
  249.
  250. Karsai:
  251. "Your uncle's actions made sense, assuming he truly knew of the circumstances. That is not to say they were anything less than reprehensible, but they were not nonsensical."
  252.
  253. Karsai:
  254. "...although, attempting to lie to Oculos is never a wise decision."
  255.
  256. Gerald:
  257. "He has complete confidence in himself and his abilities, including his ability to lie. One day it'll be his undoing."
  258.
  259. Imoen:
  260. "I still say we should just push his chair over again...that worked pretty well the first time."
  261.
  262. Karsai:
  263. "Yes, well...disregarding that, you, scruffy one. Do you truly wish to know the reason behind your attacks, and Oculos and Marley's actions? Or...my nearest take on them? The knowledge could endanger you."
  264.
  265. Gerald:
  266. "Feh... I'm already in danger. Starting up that restaurant is just a distant dream, now. If you have something you'd like to share with me, I'll hear it. Maybe I can still set him straight."
  267.
  268. Karsai:
  269. "Fine, then...tell me, what do you know of the phenomenon known as Mega Evolution?"
  270.
  271. Gerald:
  272. Pokemon Education: ( 18 ) Good question.
  273. MeisterWarlock: (( Is there any actual cap on amount of classes you can have ))
  274. Gerald: (( 4 ))
  275. MeisterWarlock: (( yeah 4 is very generous ))
  276.
  277. Gerald:
  278. "Ah, that's a strangely worded question, isn't it? The mechanisms behind it, not much! Its existence and Pokemon capable of achieving it, though - well, let's just say I keep up on my studies!"
  279.
  280. Karsai:
  281. "Well...to be brief, a mystic sort of stone synergizes with a Pokemon's aura wavelength, and allows them to assume a much greater form than they previously thought possible. What is at work here is very similar...but more sinister. You could think of it as a corruption of Mega Evolution. The stones are not as tied to specific species...and the results are more terrifying and tragic."
  282. Gerald: (( well this is different, potentially ))
  283. MeisterWarlock: (( can I just infinitely regenerate out of combat with aqua ring? ))
  284. Gerald: (( You saw how that worked out with Leftovers ))
  285. MeisterWarlock: (( it's just scene ))
  286. MeisterWarlock: (( I can shit it on myself whenever I want ))
  287. Karsai: (( Yes, you can; you can use it once pr Scene ))
  288. Karsai: (( though usually gaps between Scenes are big enoug hfor Extended Rests ))
  289.
  290. Gerald:
  291. "...I see. 'Corruption' is certainly an apt word for what we saw back at Marley's."
  292. MeisterWarlock: (( Move: Rain Dance Type: Water Frequency: Daily x2 AC: None Class: Status Range: Field, Weather Effect: The weather becomes Rainy for 5 rounds. While Rainy, Water-Type Attacks gain a +5 bonus to Damage Rolls, and Fire-Type Attacks suffer a -5 Damage penalty. ))
  293. MeisterWarlock: (( good lord rain is pussy ))
  294. Gerald: (( that's uh ))
  295. Karsai: (( it's more the absolutely broken Abilities that go along wit it ))
  296. Gerald: (( that's what weather effects do here ))
  297. Karsai: (( but +5 is decent ))
  298. Karsai: (( What's REALLY shitty is the Life Orb ))
  299. Gerald: (( +5 is perfectly fine ))
  300. Karsai: (( there's almost no mechanical benefit to using it past level 25 ))
  301.
  302. Karsai:
  303. "Marley's Gym was an apt place for you to unearth this...he may have been the discoverer, having once been a miner."
  304.
  305. Gerald:
  306. "I wouldn't try using that one around him. He wasn't a fan of mine."
  307.
  308. Gerald:
  309. oh god I did it again
  310.
  311. Karsai:
  312. "Hm? What are you talking about?"
  313.
  314. Imoen:
  315. "Forget it. He's clueless, labby."
  316.
  317. Gerald:
  318. "Ah, a shame!"
  319.
  320. Gerald:
  321. "So perhaps that was an accident, then - the Marowak happening upon one of those crystals on its own?"
  322.
  323. Karsai:
  324. "Perhaps so. The real question is how that crystal got into Marley's Gym...you said he seemed genuinely surprised, yes?"
  325.
  326. Gerald:
  327. well I never rolled intuition on him
  328.
  329. Gerald:
  330. but I seem to recall he was
  331.
  332. Gerald:
  333. should I've
  334.
  335. Gerald:
  336. should I do so now
  337.
  338. Karsai:
  339. Probably a Mind check to ermember his reaction, then Intuition
  340.
  341. Gerald:
  342. 17 very well
  343.
  344. Gerald:
  345. 19 that one probably passed.
  346. MeisterWarlock: (( with rank 5 athletics do I have 3 long jump or 2 ))
  347. MeisterWarlock: (( it's half athletics ))
  348. Gerald: (( Always Round Down ))
  349. Gerald: (( it's the tabletop mantra ))
  350. Karsai: (( Long Jump is half Acrobatics, not Athletics ))
  351. Karsai: (( You recall Marley looking truly shocked, and a little startled ))
  352.
  353. Gerald:
  354. "Absolutely. That was the face of a man who had specifically ordered his meal braised, but got it roasted instead!"
  355. MeisterWarlock:
  356. Should be done with the trainer now
  357. MeisterWarlock:
  358. pretty sure Eustace had like 5 more special attack than he was supposed to or some crap
  359.
  360. Gerald:
  361. "That is to say, something was particularly wrong that only he had a true appreciation for at the time. And certainly not the prep cook." Gerald pauses for a moment. "I'm not sure who the prep cook is in this metaphor."
  362.
  363. Karsai:
  364. "...a strange metaphore indeed."
  365. MeisterWarlock: (( MT somehow beat Marley so I obv did as faggot whole hog water ace ))
  366.
  367. Imoen:
  368. "Whoever that, uh, 'prep cook' was, they might be very, very important..."
  369. Gerald: (( Water Ace is good ))
  370. Imoen: (( For Wailmer you might actually want to go mixed ))
  371. MeisterWarlock: (( it is a good thing none of you have water ))
  372. Imoen: (( after all you can't Body Slam with a Special Wailmer, and it doesn't learn a Physical Water Move by level up except Dive ))
  373. Imoen: (( which is fucking terrible and useless ))
  374. Gerald: (( is it not Dig - right. You have to be in water. ))
  375. Gerald: (( This will never happen. ))
  376. Imoen: (( Though I guess yo ucould have Waterfall as an Inheritance move ))
  377. Imoen: (( but Whirlpool tho ))
  378. MeisterWarlock: (( it's obv one of the starters, he gets the inheritance crap ))
  379. MeisterWarlock: (( so he can just get waterfall off that ))
  380.
  381. Karsai:
  382. "Now that you know this, I highly, highly recommend that you stay away from Psychics. Especially one Gordon Schneidenstrafen."
  383.
  384. Karsai:
  385. "I cannot predict what Oculos would do if he knew of this...but should he ask, do not lie, no matter the risks. Gordon is very adept at reading minds, and Oculos...for all intents and purposes, he cannot be lied to."
  386. MeisterWarlock: (( so while I can just copy levels/exp/quantity off eustace ))
  387. MeisterWarlock: (( I blatantly can't copy eustace's money/supplies ))
  388. MeisterWarlock: (( what is your ruling for starting money ))
  389.
  390. Karsai:
  391. you get 10k
  392. Karsai: (( and one item worth 4k or less ))
  393.
  394. Karsai:
  395. "And Oculos despises liars as much as I do murderers."
  396.
  397. Imoen:
  398. "You do not want to see that man angry..."
  399.
  400. Gerald:
  401. so you ARE Clyde.
  402. MeisterWarlock: (( Clyde's obv his father ))
  403. Imoen: (( Clyde wasn't THAT old ))
  404. Imoen: (( they're clearly brothers ))
  405.
  406. Gerald:
  407. "Right, then..." Gerald crosses off Schniedenstrafen as a potential location for his new branch.
  408.
  409. Gerald:
  410. "But where does that leave us? You're talking as though the gym leaders are your enemies!"
  411.
  412. Karsai:
  413. "Some of them may be...anyone can be an enemy, under the wrong circumstances. You and Imoen were enemies only a short time ago, from what I understand."
  414. MeisterWarlock: (( when do mons get a second ability ))
  415. Karsai: (( Level 20 ))
  416. MeisterWarlock:
  417. Ability: Wave Rider Static Effect: While in water, the user’s Speed Stat gains +4 Combat Stages. Remove these Combat Stages if the user exits the water.
  418. MeisterWarlock:
  419. rain doesn't count as "in water"
  420. MeisterWarlock:
  421. right
  422. Imoen: (( it does not ))
  423.
  424. Karsai:
  425. "I do not know their whole intentions, but I believe they do not wish for this information to be publicly known. There is no telling what they might do."
  426.
  427. Imoen:
  428. "Well, there probably IS...but you won't use that, will you?"
  429. MeisterWarlock: (( is there any ruling, in session 10 ))
  430. MeisterWarlock: (( that would prohibit me from using my money on overly powerful TMs ))
  431.
  432. Karsai:
  433. "No more than I must. That ability is nothing to be taken lightly. It can have dire consequences..."
  434. MeisterWarlock: (( AKA earthquake ))
  435. Karsai: (( There's nothing prohibiting you buying them, but ))
  436.
  437. Karsai:
  438. Pokémon from Level 20 to 29 may only learn Moves with up to a Scene Frequency and max Damage Base of 9.
  439. MeisterWarlock: (( actual good rule ))
  440. MeisterWarlock: (( okay ))
  441.
  442. Gerald:
  443. "Well. I've taken enough of your time chatting! If I'm going to be a houseguest, I'm going to have to make good on that promise of a meal." can we call it, I'd like to get some smesh in
  444. Karsai: (( Earthquake isn't as good as it was in PTA, though - one Scene can span a couple of battles, so if you use it in the first, you have a dead move slot ))
  445. Karsai: (( unless you use a PP Up but good luck ))
  446.
  447. Karsai:
  448. "Whatever you wish. After we've eaten, I insist you stay the night. You are in no condition to be traveling potentially hostile lands. Hm...we've two beds, though. Imoen..."
  449.
  450. Imoen:
  451. "H-huh? Yes?"
  452.
  453. Karsai:
  454. "You take the large bed. Scruffy...pry Ike off of the little one, and you can have it. I'll set up something in the shed for myself."
  455.
  456. Imoen:
  457. "Oh. Right. Of course."
  458.
  459. Luxray:
  460. Good luck, Scruffy
  461.
  462. Gerald:
  463. You know I'm just gonna entice you off with a Shinxie Snack
  464.
  465. Gerald:
  466. you're just a bundle of love arentcha
  467.
  468. Luxray:
  469. i'm the reason Luxray as depicted as murderous psychopaths in PTX
  470.
  471. Luxray:
  472. are*
  473.
  474. Gerald:
  475. aww who's a widdle pwecious
  476.
  477. Luxray:
  478. Imagine Arawn
  479.
  480. Luxray:
  481. but more evil
  482.
  483. Luxray:
  484. and focused
  485.
  486. Luxray:
  487. and less talkative
  488.
  489. Luxray:
  490. it's gonna have to be one hell of a Shinxie Snack
  491.
  492. Luxray:
  493. carved from the bones of your enemies
  494. MeisterWarlock:
  495. I was going for some kind of religious character as the token. Eventually I decided the god was Kyogre because of my irrational hatred of Arceus. Eventually saw Enel who is blatantly just a generic swimmer from Pokemon with a diving cap
  496.
  497. Luxray:
  498. Basically
  499.
  500. Gerald:
  501. Sesh over then, didn't die, maybe made some tentative friends.'
  502.
  503. Gerald:
  504. I'd say that's a notch in the "positive" stick.
  505.
  506. Gerald:
  507. The only one so far.
  508.
  509. Luxray:
  510. the negative stick is falling apart from too many chunks slotted out of it.
  511.
  512. Gerald:
  513. Meaning I have to get a new one!
  514.
  515. Karsai:
  516. And hey
  517.
  518. Gerald:
  519. So now there are more notches in the positive than the negative.
  520.
  521. Karsai:
  522. the first N--actually, first character at all who didn't ridicule you in some way
  523.
  524. Karsai:
  525. besides maybe Deidra
  526.
  527. Gerald:
  528. She did.
  529.
  530. Gerald:
  531. And now I have to hope Imoen doesn't suffocate me in my sleep.
  532. MeisterWarlock:
  533. what are the training things called
  534. MeisterWarlock:
  535. accuracy training speed training etc
  536. MeisterWarlock:
  537. forgot that
  538.
  539. Gerald:
  540. Training Features
  541.
  542. Karsai:
  543. Training Features
  544.
  545. Karsai:
  546. They're in the first section of the Feats part of the book
  547.
  548. Gerald:
  549. Focused, Brutal, Inspired, and Agility
  550.
  551. Gerald:
  552. Heading to downstairs, will be on Skype
  553. MeisterWarlock:
  554. I forgot to apply the bonuses to escaping status effects on eustace all this time
  555. MeisterWarlock:
  556. oh well
  557.
  558. Karsai:
  559. Well that only applies to your Pokemon, not the Trainr
  560. MeisterWarlock:
  561. I know that, even so
  562.
  563. Karsai:
  564. I thought you had Focused Training anyway
  565.
  566. Karsai:
  567. It's +Accuracy and Skill Checks I think
  568. MeisterWarlock:
  569. yeah
  570.
  571. Karsai:
  572. Inspired Trainign is +Evasion and Save Checks
  573. MeisterWarlock:
  574. oh, skill checks
  575.
  576. Karsai:
  577. Save Checks are Paralysis etc
  578. MeisterWarlock:
  579. different from save checks
  580. MeisterWarlock:
  581. duh
  582.
  583. Karsai:
  584. Skill Checks are like Combat Maneuvers and such
  585.
  586. Karsai:
  587. so...you DID forget it once
  588.
  589. Karsai:
  590. when using Tracker, lel
  591. MeisterWarlock:
  592. the +1 evasion is +1 to speed evasion
  593. MeisterWarlock:
  594. or all evasions?
  595.
  596. Karsai:
  597. All evasions
  598. MeisterWarlock:
  599. now to actually get anything that remotely benefits from rain in any way
  600. MeisterWarlock:
  601. instead of a flavor pokeman
  602.
  603. Karsai:
  604. Croagunk?
  605.
  606. Karsai:
  607. Parasect also works
  608. MeisterWarlock:
  609. I don't think I should bother with the fucking completely obligatory politoed
  610. MeisterWarlock:
  611. when I can just corrupt drizzle
  612.
  613. Karsai:
  614. You also get a Feature that lets you Bind 2 AP to treat a Pokemon as if it were in Rain
  615. MeisterWarlock:
  616. I kept two at will moves in hopes of eventually getting the stupid multitasking imoen used
  617. MeisterWarlock:
  618. what level even was she with that much speed
  619. MeisterWarlock:
  620. does she just have no HP?
  621.
  622. Karsai:
  623. Multi Tasking is Trainer only, Focused Command is what you want
  624.
  625. Karsai:
  626. for Pokemon that is
  627.
  628. Karsai:
  629. Focused Command is even better than Multitasking, nobody knows why
  630.
  631. Karsai:
  632. You can pay AP to lift the At-Will restriction
  633.
  634. Karsai:
  635. and it's fucking At Will itself
  636.
  637. Karsai:
  638. instead of Scene
  639. MeisterWarlock:
  640. what exactly can mist target
  641. MeisterWarlock:
  642. only self?
  643. MeisterWarlock:
  644. only one ally?
  645.
  646. Karsai:
  647. well Scene x2
  648.
  649. Karsai:
  650. It creates a Blessing
  651. MeisterWarlock:
  652. I know that
  653.
  654. Karsai:
  655. With 3 uses
  656. MeisterWarlock:
  657. what is range of blessing
  658.
  659. Karsai:
  660. Any ally in the encounter can use a blessing
  661.
  662. Karsai:
  663. Imoen was level 15, with a whole 88 max HP
  664.
  665. Karsai:
  666. Jasper was level 6, Robert 7, Norm 8
  667.
  668. Karsai:
  669. Imoen did bascially nothing for most of the fight.
  670.
  671. Karsai:
  672. Imoen DID have Substitute tho
  673.
  674. Karsai:
  675. so that helpe her HP
  676. MeisterWarlock:
  677. okay she actually was higher leveled then
  678. MeisterWarlock:
  679. at level 23
  680. MeisterWarlock:
  681. can I generically pick Gyarados and such yet?
  682.
  683. Karsai:
  684. Gyarados is probably too much for the moment
  685.
  686. Karsai:
  687. especially since it just fucking gets Swift Swim
  688.
  689. Karsai:
  690. let me check its stats though
  691. MeisterWarlock:
  692. well the main argument would be movepool
  693.
  694. Karsai:
  695. 55 is uh, pretty high
  696. MeisterWarlock:
  697. though I would just use the tutoring crap/items
  698. MeisterWarlock:
  699. OFC
  700.
  701. Karsai:
  702. ATM the strongest Pokemon in the party has, what, 48 BST?
  703.
  704. Karsai:
  705. With that being a Chatot
  706.
  707. Karsai:
  708. So I'd hold off on Gyarados for now
  709. MeisterWarlock:
  710. yeah it's fair obv just asking instead of assuming
  711.
  712. 320Wailmer:
  713. I have these if you wnat non-stock tokens
  714. MeisterWarlock:
  715. I can get non stock
  716. MeisterWarlock:
  717. just placeholders
  718. MeisterWarlock:
  719. but yeah I mostly have stock ones for GM purposes
  720. MeisterWarlock:
  721. NPC pokes don't have to be snowflakes
  722.
  723. 320Wailmer:
  724. that's what these are for basically
  725.
  726. 320Wailmer:
  727. I just found someone who drew like, every gen 1-4 pokemon
  728.
  729. 320Wailmer:
  730. And tokened all that shit
  731.
  732. 320Wailmer:
  733. after that I managed to find someone else who did gen v
  734.
  735. 320Wailmer:
  736. though I think actually that same person did v too
  737.
  738. 320Wailmer:
  739. VI was hell.
  740.
  741. 320Wailmer:
  742. I don't even think I have all the Gen VI pokemon tokened yet
  743.
  744. 320Wailmer:
  745. Not sure
  746. MeisterWarlock:
  747. http://orig06.deviantart.net/763d/f/2011/013/2/2/waruvial_by_xous54-d3743df.png
  748. MeisterWarlock:
  749. The guy who does these is my blatant favorite for stock art
  750. MeisterWarlock:
  751. pops up very fast on google image
  752. MeisterWarlock:
  753. of basically any poke, at least non gen 1s
  754. MeisterWarlock:
  755. because gen 1 googles are more clogged
  756.
  757. 320Wailmer:
  758. That was the one I used for 5th gens I think
  759.
  760. 604Eelektross:
  761. I used it for Byrne way back in the day too
  762. MeisterWarlock:
  763. Doing natures for the final evo is so annoying
  764. MeisterWarlock:
  765. to get speed ahead of a defense
  766. MeisterWarlock:
  767. Do they ever get a third ability in this?
  768.
  769. 604Eelektross:
  770. Level 60
  771.
  772. 604Eelektross:
  773. er
  774.
  775. 604Eelektross:
  776. 40
  777.
  778. 604Eelektross:
  779. You can get a FOURTH at 60
  780.
  781. 604Eelektross:
  782. By spending 3 TP
  783. MeisterWarlock:
  784. So when I'm thinking of going fucking monotype
  785. MeisterWarlock:
  786. I kind of need to know the types of the gyms a lot more
  787. MeisterWarlock:
  788. that doesn't seem like it's that hard to figure out in-character
  789. MeisterWarlock:
  790. I need to do the ones with types I am weak to earlier
  791. MeisterWarlock:
  792. I know there's poison
  793.
  794. 604Eelektross:
  795. well WATER isn't weak to Poison here, I didn't nerf it that much
  796.
  797. 604Eelektross:
  798. Just made Ice resist it
  799. MeisterWarlock:
  800. Agi said it was?
  801.
  802. 604Eelektross:
  803. Water Weaknesses: Grass 2x Electric 2x Resistances: Steel 0.5x Fire 0.5x Water 0.5x Ice 0.5x Immunities: None Aggregate: 18.0
  804. MeisterWarlock:
  805. well anyway
  806. MeisterWarlock:
  807. is there grass and electric then?
  808. MeisterWarlock:
  809. That's all I need to know
  810.
  811. 604Eelektross:
  812. There's Poison, Dark, Ground, Ghost, Flying, Steel, and...Harold is undecided
  813.
  814. 604Eelektross:
  815. I'm thinking Ice or just keeping him Grass
  816. MeisterWarlock:
  817. Also have to make sure there isn't water
  818. MeisterWarlock:
  819. since that's where I would "fill in" (Because that would ever happen)
  820. MeisterWarlock:
  821. rest an acceptable tutored move?
  822.
  823. 604Eelektross:
  824. Yeah
  825. MeisterWarlock:
  826. may as well just do all hoenn with the first two
  827. MeisterWarlock:
  828. makes sense for flavor
  829. MeisterWarlock:
  830. don't know if I should bother doing oddish and cubone
  831. MeisterWarlock:
  832. okay, here's a better question that is more bordering on exploit
  833. MeisterWarlock:
  834. level 18 almost 19 magikarp
  835. MeisterWarlock:
  836. just shit exp into it without using it
  837. MeisterWarlock:
  838. too meta?
  839.
  840. 604Eelektross:
  841. You'd probably need to use it to some degree yeah
  842.
  843. 604Eelektross:
  844. Part of the drawback to using Gyarados is using Magikarp.
  845. MeisterWarlock:
  846. So because I have fucking gilled
  847. MeisterWarlock:
  848. assume I dived into the water at luxemberg/krii
  849. MeisterWarlock:
  850. do I see hordes of tentacools?
  851.
  852. 604Eelektross:
  853. Luxemburg is mostly Tentacool, some Mantine, Shellder, Chinchou lines
  854.
  855. 604Eelektross:
  856. Krii probably has some things like Skrelp,
  857.
  858. 604Eelektross:
  859. Lumineon, Goldeen, Clamperl, Staryu, and Horsea
  860.
  861. 604Eelektross:
  862. probably an Eelektrik around there somewhere
  863.
  864. 604Eelektross:
  865. Oh, and Frillish around Krii
  866. MeisterWarlock:
  867. I guess Swampert probably takes mixed?
  868.
  869. 604Eelektross:
  870. If you want to use its level up movepool at all, probably.
  871.
  872. 604Eelektross:
  873. Up until level 44 it learns all of Rock Slide for Physical moves
  874.
  875. 604Eelektross:
  876. and 44 is Take Down
  877.
  878. 604Eelektross:
  879. which is terrible
  880.
  881. 604Eelektross:
  882. Bide is actually not bad
  883.
  884. 604Eelektross:
  885. For the record, only up to 3 Moves can be TM or Tutor Moves
  886.
  887. 604Eelektross:
  888. at the moment ,that doesn't matter
  889.
  890. 604Eelektross:
  891. Inheritance Moves are treated as naturally learned
  892.
  893. 604Eelektross:
  894. Gonna take the server down now
  895.
  896. 604Eelektross:
  897. And go back to sleep
  898. MeisterWarlock:
  899. k give me a second
  900.
  901. 604Eelektross:
  902. So save thine shit
  903. MeisterWarlock is disconnected.
  904. Thrice is disconnected.
  905. You have disconnected.
