  5. >Be in high school
  6. >Lunchtime is always where it’s at
  7. >You don’t get much time to hang out with your bros, but every day is worth it
  8. >Especially when they both have their own girlfriends now
  9. >You all still sit together, but you’re kind of a fifth wheel
  10. >You soon find yourself wondering if you’ll have someone to call your own
  11. >As you turn your head away from the group you notice the Apophis girl glancing at you from across the cafeteria
  12. >She quickly looks away before your eyes gain focus on her, though
  13. >That girl is a strange one
  14. >She sits in your class behind you
  15. >You always feel her gaze down your back in the middle of class
  16. >You know she’s harmless—docile even
  17. >That still doesn’t null the fact that it’s uncomfortable
  18. >Especially when you’re a poor test-taker as it is
  19. >She's been wearing a red bow on her black tail recently
  20. >Probably to hide whatever bruise she got from when that Pharaoh slammed the door on her tail the other day
  21. >Those two never did get along very well
  22. >Rather, the Pharaoh didn’t like the Apophis too much
  23. >Guess it must’ve been a competition thing
  24. >Still, it was a pretty one-sided competition
  25. >Nonetheless, you couldn’t help but feel for the girl
  26. >You break off from your friends to the Apophis’s table
  27. >“Mind if I grab a seat?” you ask her, giving her the most awkward of smiles
  28. >Her face blushes red as she makes eye contact with you
  29. >Before pursing her lips and giving a sheepish nod in response
  30. >Soon enough, you’re able to make some decent conversation with her
  31. >Now that you think about it, this is probably the first time you’ve spoken to this girl
  32. >All you know is that her name is Pepper, and that she sits a few seats behind you in class
  33. >And that she has been stalking you for some time
  34. >Despite that, she’s nice enough
  35. >Not to mention she’s stacked
  36. >At that moment, you had a stroke of genius in your head
  37. >You’re lonely
  38. >She’s lonely
  39. >What if you were both lonely…TOGETHER!?
  40. >Holy shit this is amazing
  41. >“S-so um…hey,” You so eloquently sputter
  42. >“What if we, you know, catch a movie or something later?”
  43. >If you could see the look on this girl’s face, you would swear she saw the Chief God
  44. >You can’t help but crack a smile as this girl silently squeals out a “Mm-hmm~!” behind her closed lips
  45. >She hid her blushed face beneath her hands and black hair
  46. >You would’ve taken a moment to appreciate how adorable she looked
  47. >That is, had you not caught that Pharaoh shoot a glance in your direction
  48. >You decide to think little of it, though
  49. >Right now, you want to try to show Pepper a good time
  50.
  51. >That afternoon, you take Pepper to the movies
  52. >Despite you mentioning picking a movie together, she decided for the both of you that you watch a horror film
  53. >You never did sit well with horror films
  54. >Last time you were asked to leave because you kept screaming at every jump scare
  55. >Decide to build up your resolve to brave through it anyway
  56. >Through a series of stretches
  57. >After about five minutes of unnecessary exercise, you’re pumped
  58. >You ain’t afraid of no ghost
  59. >You can do this
  60. >It’s not even five minutes into the movie and you’re fucking on edge
  61. >By the first hint of the monster showing up, Pepper has her tail coiled around you
  62. >You don’t know if it’s for her own security or yours
  63. >Either way, you decide to use her tail to muffle your screams as the movie goes on
  64. >Despite being scared out of your wits, you still find it cute how she tightens her grip around you at every scare
  65. >You could say the same of the red bow on her tail, waving around as the wagged her tail
  66. >After the movie, Pepper hugged you, telling you how she felt safe that you were there with her
  67. >You smugly tell her that you would fight off any monster who tried to get her
  68. >Because, you know, you would
  69. >Seriously, you would, okay!?
  70. >By the time you two leave the theater, it’s already evening
  71. >Pepper tell you how she had a fun time through her hands covering her flushed face
  72. >You two part ways soon enough
  73. >That evening, you manage to narrowly avoid getting raped by a group of catgirls in an alley
  74. >But you weren’t worried about that
  75. >After that movie you saw, you were more worried about how you were going to make it until morning
  76. >You wish Pepper were here
  77.
  78. >You wake up the next morning with only 3 hours of sleep under your belt
  79. >You want to just stay in bed and get some more sleep
  80. >Your parents aren’t having that shit
  81. >You’re going to school whether you want to or not
  82. >At least it’s a Friday
  83. >And besides, at least Pepper might be there today
  84. >When you get there, you go to greet her
  85. >You see her sitting in front of her locker, hugging what would probably be her knees if she were human
  86. >The rest of her tail is coiled around her body like a small fence
  87. >Is she crying?
  88. >You kneel down and ask her what’s wrong
  89. >But as you get a good look at her, you begin to see for yourself
  90. >Her hood is gone
  91. >Wait, HER HOOD IS GONE!?
  92. >She tells you bouts of sobbing that their hoods are just accessories, and to wear them is an honor among Apophises
  93. >And that last night, on her way home, she was attacked by monster girls who stole it from her
  94. >Despite her hood being gone, she seems relatively fine
  95. >Still, you realize somebody must’ve really had it out for her in order to do this
  96. >You vaguely recall the Pharaoh from yesterday at lunch
  97. >And who would be there as you look down both ways of the hallway
  98. >But the Pharaoh herself, leaning out from around the corner, snickering smugly at her petty victory
  99. >You were not amused
  100. >Not one bit
  101. >And by the end of the day, you were going to make sure she knew it too
  102.
  103. >You decide to talk to your best friend about this
  104. >His girlfriend Leia was a lamia too, and she might know how to help
  105. >You tell them what happened to Pepper
  106. >Upon hearing the story, Leia could only respond with
  107. >“That is not okay.”
  108. >She was in it to win this
  109. >You ask her what she has in mind for a plan
  110. >Instead of telling you, she whispers to your best friend, stopping only to let her thoughts flow every now and then
  111. >As his grin spread from ear to ear with every sentence, you can tell it’s good
  112. >You don’t want to be left out, you tell her
  113. >She still won’t tell you, instead telling you to trust in her judgment, and let her work her magic
  114. >You’re hesitant to comply at first, but your best friend reassures you that she knows what she’s doing
  115. >You decide to trust her, and shake her hand
  116. >Her tight grip tells you that she means business
  117. >You dedicated the rest of that weekend spending your time with Pepper
  118. >Despite her being ashamed from not having her hood, she is still glad to have you around
  119. >Hood or no, she was still cute as ever
  120. >It was only a matter of time before Leia would get it back for you
  121. >It wasn’t until the following Monday morning that you would get the disturbing news
  122.
  123. >“MY BABY IS GONE!” You hear the Pharaoh scream to her friends in the hallway
  124. >You definitely were not expecting shit to go down this early in the morning
  125. >Especially not starting with the Pharaoh herself
  126. >That aside, what did she mean her “baby” was gone?
  127. >Only then do you remember that most Pharaohs tend to have pet snakes
  128. >Did she mean her pet snake was missing?
  129. >Did Leia do something to her pet snake?
  130. >At lunchtime, you sit with your best friend and Leia at the table
  131. >“What did you do?” Is the first thing you can think to ask
  132. >Leia throws her hands up in defense, telling me not to worry
  133. >They then tell me everything that happened while the pharaoh is outside worried sick for her pet
  134. >Apparently Leia went to the Pharaoh’s house while she was away and got a hold of her snake
  135. >They’re keeping it safe at her boyfriend’s house to keep suspicion off of her
  136. >With that, she also left a note for the Pharaoh that read:
  137. >“We’re going to play a game of Hangman”
  138. >“For every day you don’t return what you stole, we’ll send you a little gift”
  139. >“Return what you stole by the final day, or pay the ultimate price”
  140. >The “gift” in question was apparently several pictures of different parts of the snake's body, from its tail to its head
  141. >You’re seriously worried that your best friend might be sticking his dick in crazy
  142. >But hey, results are results
  143. >As long as the snake is fine, she can do whatever she wants
  144. >Just as you thought, it’s only a matter of time
  145.
  146. >Only a day later, you hear a knock at the door
  147. >You feel like it’s an inconvenience that you have to answer the door
  148. >You don’t want to miss a second of “Two to Matango”, but you try to hurry before you miss anything important
  149. >As you open the door, you see the Pharaoh, standing on your porch
  150. >The first thing you notice is her face
  151. >If not for her puffy eyes, you probably wouldn’t have noticed her slight tear marks on her cheeks
  152. >She’s definitely been worried sick about this snake of hers
  153. >She gave a sigh before holding her arms out to me, carrying something in both her hands
  154. >“Here.”
  155. >It was Pepper’s hood
  156. >She had come all this way to give it back to you
  157. >You take it in your hands, looking at it, then back to her
  158. >Her head was tilted down, not making eye contact with you
  159. >“I’m sorry, okay?” the Pharaoh says, her voice slightly cracking
  160. >“It was stupid and mean and…It was just a little prank, I’m sorry.”
  161. >You can’t really help but feel sorry for this girl
  162. >Sure, what she did was wrong, but what you did wasn’t all that fair either
  163. >”Don’t worry,” you tell her reassuringly, “Your snake is fine.”
  164. >She was at least relieved to hear it, but still only nodded in reply, not making eye contact
  165. >“Can…Can I have her back?” she asks coyly, nearly on the verge of tears
  166. >Well, she’s not here, but…
  167. >“I’ll make sure of it,” you tell her
  168. >After reassuring her that she will definitely have her snake back, she begins to leave
  169. >“You know,” you stop her before she leaves
  170. >“Pepper’s a nice girl. Try to get to know her a little.”
  171. >The Pharaoh’s face turns a little red, but she looks away before I can really see
  172. >“I-I’ll think about it!” she says defiantly before taking her leave for good
  173. >First thing first, you decide to give Leia a call
  174. >She picks up immediately
  175. >“Hey-O!”
  176. >“The Pharaoh came by my house today. You can give her pet back.”
  177. >“Aw, are your sure?”
  178. >“Leia!”
  179. >“Okay, okay, jeez! I was kidding! Bye!”
  180. >With that out of the way, you make it back to the couch just in time for the spore action
  181.
  182. >The next day, the Pharaoh got her snake back, as promised
  183. >Leia’s not particularly amped about the outcome
  184. >You think she wanted to punish her more for stealing another lamia’s treasure
  185. >You are sure she’ll get over it soon enough
  186. >As for Pepper, she hadn’t been in the know of your plan the entire time, and you wanted to surprise her
  187. > To be honest, it’s definitely better that she never know what lengths you went to in order to get her hood back
  188. >Or rather, what lengths Leia went to
  189. >You guess Lamias look out for each other like that
  190. >As you let her into the house, you tell her to close her eyes
  191. >She was hesitant at first, but soon covered her face with her hands
  192. >You leave her in the living room, returning with her treasure
  193. >“Okay, you can look now,” you say as you hold her hood out for her to see
  194. >At first, she looked surprised
  195. >In fact, you almost would’ve thought she was upset
  196. >That is, if she wasn’t smiling as tears fall down her rosy cheeks
  197. >She nearly tackles you she slams into you so hard
  198. >She quickly throws her arms around you as she sobs into your chest
  199. >She gives you the biggest hug she can muster, so as to never let you go
  200. >You stroke her head as she whispers “Thank you…Thank you,” over and over again
  201. >You weren’t sure why she was so emotional
  202. >Whether it be because it really was an important treasure to her
  203. >Or because you helped her when she thought no one could
  204. >Either way, it felt nice
  205. >And you wanted it to stay like this
  206. >For just a little longer
