we are so back

Hey, y'all, just wanted to give a quick update regarding the direction of my streaming/speedrunning career.

Very soon, I'll be returning to graduate school, as I've switched majors from computer science to IT! I'm really excited for this new chapter, as my interests with programming feel more like a hobby than sit at my PC and code all day. Thankfully, throughout my undergrad, I used streaming as a way to distract myself from the stressful amounts of work (in addition to COVID), and am so blessed to have an amazing community and folks who have watched me go from sweeping Banana Blitz HD to performing twice at Games Done Quick; I intend to continue submitting and showing off my speedrunning repertoire.

For the past... honestly 3 years, my mental was extremely wishy-washy and was too focused on things that were really not worth my time. 6 months later, I actually am feeling ready to start pushing myself more, meeting new folks, trying new things--just enjoying life as an adult. (Still working on fixing my sleep schedule.) Not to mention I lost 11 days of momentum due to catching Ms. Rona, so I pretty much lost motivation temporarily.

Moreover, I want to apologize to all of the new folks who have followed me from GDQ; I should have kept streaming Mario Kart World but it was a combination of me not liking the game competitively, my health, and my other interests. I've decided that Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, regardless of the game's turnout, will be the next kart-racer I grind. I genuinely enjoyed the closed beta, and, unlike Mario Kart World, there seems to be QoL perks (minus the rewind button) that could make it an awesome speedrun. I do not plan on fully retiring competitive MKWorld, it's just I will not be playing it as often until Nintendo stops ruining the overall experience of the game.

Lastly, this Christmas will mark 20 years of me playing Super Monkey Ball! I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this, but I'm on a journey of trying to have every Monkey Ball game learned and posted on my SRC. Of course, I have been more focused on other games (ahem, Mario Kart and Puyo), but my return to the funny-monkey game is imminent... and I promise it'll stop being an off-and-on thing unless I literally am out of categories.
