  1. [11:48] Simply took a seat beside the cosmic magi, leaning back upon the bars of wood making up the bench. He'd look towards the side at Victor.
  2.
  3. "Which star called to you?"
  4.
  5. It was a simple question, one that any cosmic magi would understand.
  6. (Syracuse Fengari)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [11:50] While he sat Victor hadn't really expected anyone to approach him. But, when Syracuse did he looked up and watched the male take the seat beside him.
  10.
  11. A brow was risen as a primary response to the question.
  12.
  13. "Eidos, Protector of the Path."
  14.
  15. He said with a single nod.
  16. (Victor)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [11:58] Gave a nod in response to the answer. He didn't have to delve to deep into the how's he was called. That happened in such diverse and mysterious ways it'd be almost a waste of time to figure out.
  20.
  21. Yet, he couldn't help himself. With a glance upwards towards the star-light sky. His gaze would slowly shift to a spot in the sky. It resided in the southern hemisphere.
  22.
  23. He didn't need a microscope or some form of magical optical enhancer to see the star. He'd point up unnerring towards the sky. In a less populated patch of space, as if secluded from the rest. There'd be two stars that almost seemed to be holding one another.
  24.
  25. "Sirrah & Mirrah, the Lovers. They are the one's who called unto me. I'd say they're influence led me to be who I am today."
  26.
  27. He'd shift his gaze back down, albeit reluctantly, towards Victor. Offering him a curious smile.
  28.
  29. "Where is Eidos in the night sky?"
  30. (Syracuse Fengari)
  31. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  32.
  33. [12:04] Victor continued to sit in silence as he observed Syracuse. He had seen this one around the square on occasion but had not yet spoken with them.
  34.
  35. However, he turned his gaze to the night sky. Following his companies point line toward the coupled stars mentioned. A nod was given before he looked back and held the slightly older males gaze.
  36.
  37. "Eidos is not as easily seen. Though he is there, just beyond Ursa Major."
  38.
  39. The magus said as he gestured toward the stated constellation. If Syracuse traced the pointed line Victor made, he'd see a single star that looked further out than that of Ursa Major.
  40.
  41. "He has taught me a lot and still offers more. Not only combative teachings either."
  42. (Victor)
  43. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  44.
  45. [12:13] Settled his hands into his pockets as his vision followed the man's direction. Looking upon the constellation of Ursa Major. He'd chuckle a bit as he looked at the pot-like constellation.
  46.
  47. Something about the mundanity of seeing a pot in the stars always. He'd tilt his gaze a bit upwards, looking for Eidos. Ah, there it was as he'd said. Just a bit beyond the main constellation.
  48.
  49. "Ah, yes I can see it. It almost looks to be ingredients for the pot. Though, I take it the path being protected is to Polaris?"
  50.
  51. As he asked his gaze followed along from the tip of the constellation towards the North star. Only to come back down as he looked back towards the cosmic magi. One he'd kept an eye on throughout his imprisonment. One rarely finds other celestial magi.
  52. (Syracuse Fengari)
  53. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  54.
  55. [12:19] A light chuckle escaped Victor as he'd respond.
  56.
  57. "Mhm, I've always thought the same."
  58.
  59. Pausing a moment Victor again turned his gaze to the night sky. He thought over that question. How to answer it given he wasn't entirely sure. Despite such Victor went on to give his best educated guess.
  60.
  61. "From what I'm able to gather he protects the path to the cosmos itself. As for Polaris, I'm not sure. Eidos is withholding of much information. Saying that I must first prove myself worthy of the knowledge and greater strength that he offers.
  62.
  63. Through my actions and deeds shall I be judged."
  64.
  65. Pausing after that for a good moment Victor eventually smiled. His eyes were still trained on the star filled sky above, but of course he looked back to Syracuse.
  66.
  67. "My name is Victor by the way. I believe you to be Syracuse? Do not sound surprised like I've some divine way of knowing your name. I'm justvery observant of my surroundings when in the square. I've heard others heard your name."
  68.
  69. The magus went on to explain himself. Some people didn't like it when you knew their name before they offered it. But, when in a busy city like Huangzhou it was kind of hard not to hear other peoples name and go on to see the associated visage.
  70. (Victor)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [12:29] Raised a brow at the man, it seemed they where more observant that most. Not an uncommon trait to those who've answered the calls of the stars.
  74.
  75. He'd hold out a hand, waving to the side. As he spoke, as if to say he was casting the name to the wayside.
  76.
  77. "Please, in this city I've chosen to go by Fen. It's simply easier."
  78.
  79. He'd give a chuckle after that, given his past the less people in this city who knew who he was the better.
  80.
  81. "And I know who you are Victor. I've had an eye on you for some time. You'll find that a keen eye for detail is quite common to those whose patrons watch over all."
  82.
  83. As he spoke it wouldn't take a genius to guess he was reffering to the stars above. Yet, he'd shift his gaze back upwards. At first towards Eidos, then slowly he drifted towards the south. Making a direct line from one star to his own.
  84.
  85. "Sirrah and Mirrah, they've shared many secrets with me. Spurred on my more positive traits, yet I've got the feeling they're fickle patrons. With a great deal left to share."
  86.
  87. It was true that unlike Victore, Syracuse didn't exude a powerful cosmic aura. Though, that was more due to his racial nature than anything else.
  88. (Syracuse Fengari)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [12:39] "Ah, well met then Fen."
  92.
  93. Victor said as the name was given. He'd be sure to keep that in mind for future encounters. Given he had a feeling the two would have more in the future.
  94.
  95. That aside, Victor rose a brow as Fen spoke. He had been watched but that was something he was used to. Often times he was seen with a small group of non-magi fawners that followed him around.
  96.
  97. Something he had grown to accept instead of trying to understand. But, back on point, he gave a nod just before responding.
  98.
  99. "You as well as others. But I have a feeling yours is more in-depth when compared to the simplicity of fawning over me."
  100.
  101. The magus responded with that then paused again as he saw Fens gaze shift to the sky. He could tell that Eidos was looked upon first then traced his eyes back to The Lovers.
  102.
  103. Of course Victor listened and gave a few nods here and there. Waiting until Fen had finished before responding.
  104.
  105. "They very well could be. Eidos is very straight forward and to the point. However, he is very withholding of the information he promises me. As I said before, I must prove myself through my actions and my deeds before I am worthy of further knowledge and power."
  106.
  107. Pausing briefly Victor turned his eyes to Eidos. He stared for a few seconds before speaking once more.
  108.
  109. "I am just not certain what Eidos is looking for per action or deed."
  110. (Victor)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113. [12:48] He couldn't help but cast a cocky grin towards the normal gathering of non-magi. However, where-in Victor's cause the citizens of Huangzhou saw a handsome star-child. In the eyes of Syracuse they felt only fear. Seeing a monster from Dawn.
  114.
  115. He'd shake his head slowly at the sight. What could one do he mused. However, it didn't matter, the more enlightened Magi understood what he was and gazed without fear. That was enough.
  116.
  117. He'd shift his gaze back towards Eidos. For a time he looked upon the star. It grew on, longer. From moments to minutes as he gazed at it. All the while his head lazily tilted to the side, then the other. As if he was listening the the whispers of many who's seek his ear.
  118.
  119. He couldn't answer what exactly Eidos wished of the man. No, that was not his place. After-all none but a stars chosen could truly know what that star desired of them.
  120.
  121. He could, however, help the magi out. After all he was no doubt more experienced than victor in the realm cosmic. At-least, that was what he felt. Was it true? Well, the worlds a wild place. So, who could tell.
  122.
  123. "The Lovers when I was young tasked me with spreading mirth wherever I went. It has been a tasked that I have done with joy. It brought me many friends, many admirers, many patrons."
  124.
  125. He'd tilt his gaze towards Victor, looking at them for a moment. His star withheld information till he was worthy? How straight-forward.
  126.
  127. "If he is the protector of the path, tell me. Which path have you been levied to protect?"
  128.
  129. It was a simple enough question, though perhaps it could lead to the other magi having deeper insight.
  130. (Syracuse Fengari)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. [13:13] It was true. The citizens of Huangzhou admired Victor because of his looks. Despite this, the young man did his best to keep a humbled mind. Not letting such things get to him and give him some over the top ego.
  134.
  135. That aside, he listened on as his company spoke. Nodding here and there to acknowledge that he was in fact listening.
  136.
  137. "Ah, I see. Eidos simply told me that through my actions and my deeds that I would be judged."
  138.
  139. There was a brief pause there as Fen went on to question him. Taking a moment Victor looked away from his company and back to the stars above. Specifically to Eidos.
  140.
  141. Staring in silence the magus eventually spoke.
  142.
  143. "The true path. The one that studies all areas of the Cosmos. Both in order and in chaos, but never straying into one more than the other."
  144.
  145. There was another pause there as Victor fell silent. The ethereal mana around him looked as though a shiver ran up it. In that moment, Victor heard the boomingvoice of Eidos echo in his mind.
  146.
  147. 'Well said young Victor. Well said indeed.'
  148.
  149. Nothing more and nothing less was said. A compliment given and taken. Though, without mentioning this to Fen, Victor looked back and pressed on.
  150.
  151. "What about you? What path of the cosmos do you seek? The one of Order, the one of Chaos? Or the one which travels between?"
  152. (Victor)
  153. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  154.
  155. [13:23] Which path? He'd tilt his head upwards once again. A small glance looking towards the sterling silver of the moon. A path. His gaze drifted towards the stars. A path. Finally he looked towards a gape in the celestial ceiling. A path.
  156.
  157. With a smile touching his lips he'd look back down at Victor. Tilting his head to the side as his expression shifted to one of deep thought.
  158.
  159. After a few moments the magi would simply shrug, a smirk touching his lips as he stood up. He knew his path of course, he'd known it for years. However, he'd reached out to Victor to speak of him.
  160.
  161. "I prefer to avoid such labelings. The Lover's prefer to be entertained and so I shall entertain. Do try and guess if you'd like."
  162.
  163. He'd tilt his head a bit closer to the other celestial magi. His voice dipping a few octaves. Out of respect for the new distance? Or simply because he didn't want to be overheard? It was anyonesguess.
  164.
  165. "Though, if you'd like to meditate on your purpose in life. Feel free to sit by me next time. I'm always willing to share what I've learned in life."
  166.
  167. Though, once he'd spoken he'd glance upwards. His gaze drifting to a figure down the road. With a sigh he'd stand, giving Victor a final side-long glance before walking away.
  168. (Syracuse Fengari)
  169. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  170.
  171. [13:30] There was a good stretch of silence between the two magi. During which Victor kept his gaze upon Fen. Observing him and not really trying to hide the fact.
  172.
  173. Listening to his answer Victor didn't seem to move or change in expression. Nay, he simply looked for a moment before speaking.
  174.
  175. "I see. Depending upon the form of 'entertainment' sought depends upon my answer."
  176.
  177. Pausing there he watched as Fen moved his head a bit closer. Standing his ground Victor was not one to be easily shied.
  178.
  179. "I will keep that in mind Fen. Thank you for the offer. Also thank you for this conversation. It has brought me many ideas and many questions which I wish to pursue.
  180.
  181. Perhaps later there will be an opportunity for you to help me. When that time comes I'll be certain to let you know."
  182.
  183. Silence took the younger magi as Fen stood. It appeared he was intent on leaving. Victor would make no attempt to stop him but spoke once moreas the glance was given.
  184.
  185. "Cosmos guide us."
  186.
  187. Nothing more and nothing less.
  188. (Victor)
