—— living in seoul all her life, yujin is the first born of a loving couple. they were the type of family you would see in the park on sunny weekends. her parents sent her to all sorts of dance classes when yujin was young as yujin's surprising flexibility could help her thrive. ballet, jazz, hip hop, you name it, yujin's probably done it. obviously hating it at first, yujin would cry and throw tantrums whenever the time to go to dance class but after a few years, yujin learnt to love it and would feel empty if class was canceled.
——yujin found her love for music in junior high school, when she promised a friend of hers that she'd come and see their band busk on the streets of hongdae, along with seeing her friend's band, she also saw a bunch of other street performers and she loved how free and happy they were while performing while also making people around them happy as well. wanting to receive joy as well as giving, yujin set her mind to music.

——wanting to get into music professionally, yujin wanted to audition for starship as a soloist as starship's known for their strong vocalists. her friends and parents, not wanting her dancing skills to go to waste, persuaded yujin to audition for sm instead as it's known for their vocalists (e.g taeyeon), dancers (e.g kai and lay), and visuals (e.g yoona). yujin only ended up agreeing because she did want to out her dancing skills to use as well. auditioning for sm during the autumn of 2013, yujin officially became a trainee in the winter of the same year.
