- --Foreword--
- This is mainly speculation based on datamined info, and a portion of devstream 36. Do not take any of this as fact.
- --Tellurium--
- Tellurium is a new material, which is only found inside of asteroids from outside of the Origin System. Most likely, this is going to be an archwing specific material drop. In Devstream 36, they say that flying around and getting materials peacefully is fun, and that they might include it. The Tellurium material is probably going to require exploration to find.
- --Alpha/Beta Negators--
- The archwing fomorian event will have us using two negators, alpha and beta to destroy the new balor fomorians. Currently, the crafting materials for the negators are Cryotic, the new archwing material, Tellurium and an alpha/beta resource. It currently takes 1 of each of these materials, most likely as a way to test them, and will not be the final amounts. The current time to craft is 60 seconds, which is along the lines of other items of similar use, and will probably stay. It is currently unknown whether each player will have to have a negator, or if the squad will need all of the negators to play the mission. In the first fomorian event, both the alpha and beta corruptors had to be mixed to gain any points from them. This event could be using the alpha and beta negators more like the cicero event, where they are just different levels of negator, and give different points.
- --Archwing Information--
- The event will most likely need defensive abilities to be completed, just like how Frost's Snowglobe got us through the first one. As of now, the only Archwing with a defensive ability is the default Archwing, Odonata. The Odonata has the Energy Shell ability, which at max rank creates a shield that follows the front of the Archwing for 22 seconds. It is not affected by range mods, but the duration can be increased to 29 seconds with the mod, Efficient Transferral.
- There is a chance that the stealth Archwing could get an ability that allows it to defend better, however it is too early to say whether it will. The current abilities in the datamine pastebin do not show anything that would directly defend the core though.
- From Devstream 36 we can see that it will take a while to get to the fomorian. In order to maximize our chances of winning, we will need to maximize our speed. This will require the use of the rank 10 rare mod, Hyperion Thrusters, for an increase of 27.5% into our sprint speed.
- Provided that auras still carry into Archwing missions by the time that the event happens, the three auras that will be viable are Energy Siphon, Corrosive Projection and Sprint Boost. Two Energy Siphons will allow us to have our shields up at all times. Corrosive Projection will allow us to deal more damage to the enemies in the mission. Sprint Boost will allow us to go even faster, a very important thing to winning this event.
- --Possible Event Structure--
- In Devstream 36, we can see the workings of an Archwing mission that involves destroying a fomorian ship. This was originally going to be the mission for the archwing quest, but was scrapped in favour of a simpler mission. This mission is most likely to be re-used as the new mission of the event.
- First, the players must make their way to the fomorian, using asteroid belts and debris as cover to avoid the giant cannon on the fomorian. We can tell that there will be some way for the fomorian to attack us from the datamined taunt from Vay Hek, which states "...Fomorian commander, ready targeting systems." Also, players will most be assaulted by grineer enemies the whole way there.
- Second, once the players make their way to the fomorian, they will have to find a way in. I have been told that this will be similar to the trench run in the death star, from star wars. While there is no evidence directly showing that there will be a trench run, the mission from Devstream 39 showed them entering a large gap in the fomorian which took them to a large open area.
- Third, the players will need to use the alpha and beta negators on a part of the fomorian. If this is to be the fuel again, or the core of the fomorian is unknown. The players will most likely have to protect whatever the negators are negating from grineer enemies. The Energy Shell shield will come in handy for this part, if only to stop some of the bullets from harming the objective.
- Fourth, the players will need to leave the fomorian. Most likely, whatever was being negated has exploded, and just like the death star trench run, they will need to escape the fomorian while under a time limit. This would be the same as the randomly occuring time limit in sabotage missions, but will be much less forgiving.
- --Possible Rewards--
- While we are in need of a 120% Impact damage mod, it wouldn't make sense for an Archwing mission to be rewarding us with a Warframe mod. According to datamined info, there are fire mods and shock mods for the archwing weapons that are currently not being used. These are more likely to be either the rewards, or to drop from a mission exclusive enemy.
- --Scoring--
- This event will most likely be scored similarly to the original fomorian event, where running the mission and successfully poisoning the core with an alpha and beta negator will reward points for the whole team. Unlike the first event, there is no stable negator. Most likely is that using 2 alpha and 2 beta will be the optimal way to get points, however there is no evidence for this.
- --Random Facts--
- The Vasto came out in Update 9.3, which was the same update that the first fomorian event, Sling-Stone happened in.
- The Vasto Prime has just come out, and there is soon to be a new fomorian event, similar to the first.
- Subtle referencing, or just a coincidence?
