  22. becomes extremely aggressive and will attack any noninfected individuals in the immediate vicinity, usually by biting (which seems to be the main method of transmission for the infection). Moreover, boils containing pus-like concentrations of the pathogen begin to accumulate on the infected's epidermis.​
