Aprilage’s visualization software (named “APRIL®”) provides a proven tool to complement health and lifestyle education, programs and products for smoking cessation1, nutrition and weight control, skin care and sun safety.

APRIL® face aging software products are powerful and effective because they provide a personal “before and after” view of an individual’s own face as they age, decade by decade.  The APRIL® “aging engine” extracts specific aging characteristics from our database of several thousands of real people’s 3D head scans, across five ethnic groups, male/female, ages 7 – 70.   It is currently in use in more than 25 countries in health education, science museums, employee health programs and brand marketing for cosmetics and beauty.  The software can also show people how they will look as they get older with various effects including obesity, smoking, and heavy sun exposure.  Results are produced in a “contrast and compare” output that can be shared, emailed or printed for the individual and/or their health provider.



The software is available as SaaS for download to an individual’s computer (for health professionals in a one-on-one setting), through the APRIL® API for customized use on a website or mobile app, or in a kiosk (similar to a “photo booth”, in public settings) for on-the-spot face agings.

In a kiosk, the APRIL® face aging engine is accessed by means of a command line interface permitting access through a fully customized interface.

1In a controlled Australian research study (conducted within Australian pharmacies) using the APRIL® Face Aging software, 13.8% of the study’s participants quit smoking after engaging in the face aging visualization process, well above 1.3% in the control group that wasn’t exposed to face aging visualization.  The study also found that the smokers were willing to pay for the photo-aging service.
