- Album: The Cure - Carnage Visors
- Carnage Visors: 9 Sick guitar tones, so foreboding. Feels like I should be lying here for the full thirty minutes with a ball of dread lodged in my chest
- Album: Fennesz - Endless Summer:
- Made in Hong Kong: 8 Damn this mf cracklin
- Endless Summer: 10 The mid-song shift absolutely pays off, the guitar sounds like if a warm and inviting summer tone was ran through multiple filters
- A Year In A Minute: 6 Doing this rate on youtube with my eyes off the screen can be a mistake, I thought this started as an unexpected but cool turn into 70s retro with a voice sample but turns out youtube just played me a Lexus commercial
- Caeccilia: 7
- Got To Move On: 8 Got that nice, crispy, popped in the campfire feel
- Shisheido: 9 The sounds of a summer at the edge of time
- Before I Leave: 7 There's a point where it hits the exact tone of a slot machine. Anyway I could probably twerk to this if I tried hard enough
- Happy Audio: 7
- Album: Flying Saucer Attack - Phase One Ambient Melody:
- Oceans (Distance): 10 Is this dream pop
- Distance (Distance): 8 [Distance]
- Feedback Song (Chorus): 9 Adorable teddy bears levels of fuzz
- For Silence (Further): 9 Enjoyed the guitar work, but I'll be real, that sure didn't sound like a song dedicated to silence
- In The Light Of Time (Further): 5 This feels like one of those bad trips
- Oceans 2 (Distance): 7 Good, but man it always sucks when a sequel isn't as good as the original
- To The Shore (Further): 7
- Popol Vuh III (Chorus): 5 Honestly felt a little too short somehow, like it passed too quickly in a bad way
- There But Not There (Chorus): 8 Glad it got back to a stronger quality there at the end
- Album: Glenn Branca - Lesson No. 1:
- Lesson No. 1 For the Electric Guitar: 11 Ooooh, I knew from the first few seconds this had potential and hot damn did it deliver, what an epic track. Easy 11, even if I assume this seems like the basic bitch pick
- Dissonance: 9 I like how it goes from silly mischievous chase scene to "oh god oh fuck they're after me" to all out high speed motor chase
- Album: Jim O'Rourke - Bad Timing:
- There's Hell in Hello But More In Goodbye: 8 Piano here sounds super gorgeous, great song title too
- 94 The Long Way: 10 Incredible when it gets going, a piece of straw materialized right in my mouth once the guitars started really rolling. Oh shit some horns just came in lfg
- Bad Timing: 6
- Happy Trails: 9 Nothing could prepare me for the horns
- BONUS SONGS
- Pat Metheny - Electric Counterpoint (Fast/Slow/Fast): 10 Starts off super cold and distant, and then the dueling guitars gives it such a vibrancy and life. Second part has a picture of a lion on its back in a grass field like it's Porter Robinson and yeah same. Giving this a 10 at this point barring severe wackness. Uh ohhhhhh. Is that a mf groove I hear??? Honestly might be an 11 if it was main rate idk
- My Bloody Valentine - Glider (Extended): 7 Nine whole minutes of woodwork and then a minute of vacuuming
- Gastr del Sol - The Wrong Soundings: 6 Would love to see what the Right Soundings are!
- Fennesz - Paint It Black: 5 Did not make me move like Jagger
- Fennesz - Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder): 7 This is ambient I don't expect talking at all lmao
- Sonic Youth - Fire Engine Dream: 8 This is the part where I admit to not really knowing Sonic Youth and get kicked out of rates for saying "Is this ambient Pavement?"
