>> bless okay this is my favourite part. she is v slight because she grew up on the streets and food isn't easy to come by. small in stature, 5'3" at best. sharp eyes, lots of moles on her upper arms and back. black hair, messy, to her collarbone. always wanted to dye it but money + security where??? hella scars, mostly clean cuts on her arms and legs, but a particularly nasty one on her hip (fell against barbed wire while on the run). permanent crease in her forehead, button nose.

>> she's part korean and part filipina on her mom's part. she doesn't really know what to identify with bcus she barely learnt any of the two cultures.

>> no one really. she doesnt have friends bcus she can't afford it. mostly, it's just a few fellow thieves that are more shaky acquaintances, and shady "businessmen" that offer her jobs.

>> dad was a mutant on the run, and chaerin pretty much was an accident. dad disappeared (all she has from him is her name) and her mom's side lowkey hated her bcus she was a reminder of what her dad did to their family r ip. her mom tried to take care of her but her abilities started developing early on and it was hard for her not be scared. p much the rest of the family called the MCA on her. her mom was the one who told her to run. she was really smol like barely five years old?? her mutation is what kept her from dying tbh.

>> her speed allowed her to get away, and then she learned to steal from people, and her strength let her take things by force. discarded her meager morals pretty quickly and learned to adapt to the street and fight to survive. im p sure there would be these underground fight club thingies where her strength could come in handy so participates in a lot of those for money and a place to stay except keeps her power lowkey. moves around a lot bcus she can't hunker down in one place for two long without garnering unneeded attention. snatches a lot of information from hanging around the street, but doesn't really know how to harness it.

PERSONALITY ( a good 1-3 paragraph(s) pls ):

>> lots of pent up anger basically; at her family, at the MCA for condemning mutants, at p much the whole world basically. vents it by getting physical as often as she can --which is p much all the time. she's also really inquisitive. didn't get a chance to learn much, so she's always open to new possibilities and is too curious for her own good. she doesn't like her life on the street, but a small part of her revels in having no master except for the elements. if she weren't such a ball of anger, she'd love to be a free spirit, except the world she lives in doesn't allow that.

>> very confrontational. she tries to keep it on the down-low, but she's territorial so the little she has of her own, she tries to protect. doesn't make attachments easily because she's always moving around, and the first attachments she had in the world are what made her turn her back to it. a part of her aches to form meaningful bonds, but she doesn't know how to, and thinks that going solo is the best thing for her.

>> later on when she does make bonds, she gets very protective of those people. it's not because of any altruistic nature (she likes to view herself as grounded and realistic) but because she's afraid of them leaving her. did i mention abandonment issues? high sense of self preservation, so she's not above betraying someone and leaving them in the dust though she doesn't take pleasure in it. believes she's p much useless/uninteresting without her powers.

>> she does have a lighter side to her though. if she's close enough to you, she's not above cracking a joke or pranking. mean sense of humor; really dry and sarcastic. gets really philosophical if you catch her at 2:00 am (why are we even trying anymore?). if the world were better, she likes to think she would have immersed herself in education, and made her life mean something, but in truth, she's just a street rat fighting to survive.

>> i kinda want her to really come into the belief that there's more to living than just survival, and that she's worth something, no matter how much she believes that she's "just a street rat". also, if you've noticed, there's a small part of her that loves the good things in the world so like, if she realizes that those are what she should be fighting for, that would be great.

>> as for ideas about her role in the plot, i'm biased towards this, but her temper aside, i feel like she is the one that they could turn to when they have to make harsh decisions? bcus chaerin is used to and good at cutting losses so that burden could sort of fall on her. other than that i hope she can at least get some sort of closure at losing her childhood because of the MCA. that could also be in the form of revenge bcus she isn't good enough of a person to stray away from the path of revenge lmao.

* i can see jungkook as the type to like look down on chaerin because of her background and the fact that she doesn't know certain things that are "basic" to him
* but also he really admires the rest of her skill set
* lots of taunting but in the end, that makes them both better bcus "i need to prove that asshole wrong"
* i keep thinking of jungkook as someone from a rich background so first impression could be something like "ugh a rich asshole maybe i stole from his family lmao" and "oh jeez is she from the streets"
