Q: What are you playing on?
A: A GameCube console.

Q: What are you trying to do?
A: Beat the game as fast as possible. Check the stream title for specific info (routing, testing a route, or just doing runs).

Q: What is the best time?
A: 3:57 by me, according to the in-game timer.

Q: Why are you resetting?
A: Probably because I got bad stats on Espeon and Croconaw. Good stats save a ton of time, and the resets are relatively short, especially for Espeon.

Q: What stats are you looking for?
A: 83+ Special Attack on Espeon with a Modest, Mild or Rash nature, which is about 1/33 Espeons. Speed is important enough that it's usually worth it to reset Quiet natures. My requirements for Croconaw's stats are less strict because the resets are much longer (19 minutes instead of 2) and Espeon does most of the heavy lifting anyway. However, I will usually reset really bad Attack (less than 55) or really bad Speed (less than 44). I also need to have a nature that purifies in time (about 70% of them).

Q: How do you know your IVs so quickly?
A: If Espeon passes the eye test of 83+ Sp. Attack, I'll plug its stats, nature and trainer ID into a program, which will show me its IVs and Hidden Power. This works for Croconaw as well, although sometimes I can't know my nature right away and will need to figure it out by observing its purification. Credit to Dabomstew for the program, and to gifvex and punyta for their initial work.

Q: Any new time saves?
A: Yes, about 2-3 minutes worth. The main one is that I'll be skipping the Master Ball and just killing all the late-game Shadow Pokemon. I'll also be using Torrent and low HP to manipulate fights throughout the Shadow Pokemon lab and Realgam Tower. Also, if I get a good Hidden Power on either Croconaw or Espeon, I can save up to 4 minutes.

Q: What is your goal time?
A: I don't know yet, but I can definitely beat my PB by 5+ minutes. I'm guessing an optimal time would be 3:45 or lower.
