It started out pretty ordinary, but most runners would never start with the Dark Hole. I try not to either, but DH, DE, Umi, and 2 Drag / 1 Thun (or whatever it was) was too good to pass up, especially considering I had just reset a run 20 minutes in to a seto 1 loss during this same race.

After trying some A-TECs on Simon (new "strat" of mine as of late for a few reasons, but mostly it's just kinda dumb to do) I got nothing and moved on to get to the world tournament. Went at Heishin with my deck being 2drag/2thun, 1eq, 1umi, 1DH. Won with a hell of a battle involving effective attacks with my 3300 THTD, eventually taking control of the field and winning via direct attack with the assistance of an Ushi Oni. Won a Roaring Ocean Snake which is a sick drop -- 2100/1800 (aqua type meaning powered by Umi, also takes DT, DE, and Beast Fangs) especially so early on.

won a Silver Bow and Arrow against Mai in the world tourney, which at no point I used, but I guess is worth mentioning because equip. did some Isis farming when I got there and got DT 4th duel, Umi 20th duel iirc (with random farms inbetween; actually the Umi might've been a later period of farming all together -- after Kaiba, Jono 2, and Mage Soldier).

During Jono 2 I A-POW'd in campaign and won Red Eyes B. Dragon. Sick. first time I've done that that I can remember. not his best drop (MBD) but 2nd best easily.

Went on to do some more farming where not a whole lot dropped. farmed with some variety: pegasus, isis, kaiba, mage soldier, even went back to jono 1 since the A-TEC campaign on Seto 1 from earlier dropped Embryonic Beast. could've been slight potential there of some sort.

Decided to go onto mages with 2eq, 6d/6t, 2 umi, my dark hole, and I think that was it. some odd chance at a PB I suppose.

I think I lost twice to Kepura in pretty ridiculous ways. Super bullshit. when I finally got past him, I went straight to mountain mage where the mother of all drops happened. This is the 2nd time within all of the speedrunning community's collective knowledge that this drop has even happened. Meteor B. Dragon (3500/2000) on mountain mage campaign, a 1/1024 chance essentially.

kept going with mages and all, ended up winning a Lab Wall (0/3000) against Lab Mage. Went back to farming where I didn't get much apart from a few dragons and a lot of starchips. Bought 2 thunders, a third umi, and a magical labyrinth so happening to have just a single chip remaining after the shopping trip.

Maybe some more farming happened inbetween, but basically it was final 6 mode from there with 8d(including REBD)/8t, 3umi, 1MBD, 2eq, (oh yeah-->)dark magician, lab wall.

at some point I won a fricken Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon off a A-POW Heishin during final 6. That wasn't the attempt that finished, unfortunately. Pretty sure that one died to Nitemare.

2nd time I get to Nitemare I win. Seto 3rd and Nitemare both drop Punished Eagle. lmao

idek why I typed all this up. but I did, and it's messy, and I'm not looking back over or editing. eff it. sometimes this game just makes you too pleased when things go all cool and right. gg yo
