- <h2>THE BEGINNING,</h2>
- The day before Christmas Eve. It's always one of the busiest, if not the actual busiest. But for Nancy and Gabe James, it was busy for a whole different reason. Nancy was pregnant, very pregnant. And little miss Delilah was in a full on hurry to enter this world for some odd reason or another. By the time the clock struck midnight, with a skeletal crew on shift for the holiday, Nancy was almost completely dilated and little Delilah's blonde fuzzy little head was already in place. The moment she got back to a room, the on call doctor was called and everyone got into place. This child was coming, here and now, right at the start of Christmas Eve. Whether everyone was ready and in place or not. Some might say, the little blonde was a little eager to experience her first Christmas and didn't want to miss out on a thing. But who knows? If you ask Delilah now, she'd say she just wanted all eyes on her for Christmas instead of waiting until her actual due date - which was to be a week later on New Years Eve. Which, lets face it, is a lot less exciting for a itty bitty little girl.
- <br><br>
- Her first two days of life, were spent in the hospital. With such little employees on staff, none being all too eager to say mother and baby were A-Okay when no one really knew for sure without one of the proper head doctors saying so. That seemed to be okay with the James' however. More time to spend together and focus on their first newborn, without the stress of family and actual Christmas duties with a literal new born baby in their arms. Delilah's first Christmas, resulted in just what they'd already bought for her and a little pink teddy bear that Gabe found at a convenience store around the corner. That little bear may of been her only present that year, but it was a memorable one and one that kept on going. As she would grow up, the bear would be dragged around until it ultimately finally fell apart - literally. By that time, Nancy wouldn't care and Gabe wasn't around anymore. So Delilah was left to mourn the bear, just as she had her father and auntie G. That would be the start of a lot of mental issues for Delilah, but we'll get more into that latter.
- <br><br>
- As a infant, Delilah was a bit difficult. She HATED dirty diapers with a passion and couldn't stand to be in them long, so she'd cry her head off until someone would change her. She also hated bath time and car seats, so either of those times were pure misery for the James' as well. But, she was a good sleeper. She'd go to sleep late, usually around 10 or 11, but she'd sleep until at least 8 or 9 the next morning without waking for anything. Sometimes she slept so hard and long, it worried them. Nancy even brought it up to the doctors a few times. But according to them, Delilah was just a great sleeper and they should be thankful. Little miss thang, as she'd be nick named later on when she could walk and sass the pants off of everyone, was also a great eater. She seldom spit things up and ate so well each time, she'd be set for hours on end. Grocery trips with her, were always wonderful. Especally as she got older, when you could just give her a piece of fruit and she'd nom on it the whole trip.
- <br><br>
- Slowly, Delilah Madison James grew into a beautiful and remarkable little girl. She was bright and quick to learn. She was on the move fairly faster than most kids would be. She was a bit slower on learning to speak, she didn't say a word until she was just about a year old. And her first word wasn't mama or dada.. it was Gigi actually. That surely didn't please her mother, but it did amuse her father since it was his sister's nickname basically. When she was little, Delilah adored her auntie Gigi, or as it ended up being shortened to - auntie G. She spent a lot of time with both her father and his sister. Following her auntie to the potty, was how the idea of potty training got planted in little D's head. By a year and a half, the child who still couldn't stand dirty diapers, was attempting to get up on the potty. So soon enough, a little potty just her size was bought and she was using it from time to time. By two, she was only having accidents at night and when they went out for long periods. Those seldom times, she was stuck in a diaper. The rest, she was wearing big girl undies.
- <br><br>
- Around that same time of potty training, is when Nancy and Gabe announced to their little girl that she'd be becoming a big sister. At first, she hated the idea. She didn't want to share their attention, or her toys. But as Nancy's pregnancy went along, the little spitfire grew closer and closer to liking the idea. By the time the end of the pregnancy got near, Delilah was pretty keen on the idea of becoming a big sister. Mostly to be able to teach the younger kid things and be able to push them around like she saw her friends with their siblings. Luckily for the newest addition, that thinking flew out the window when she finally met her little sister. Just as her parents had, Delilah adored her little sister the moment she got to hold her. With dad's help, of course. From that moment, the two would become thick as thieves and each others best friends, and worst enemies in bad times. They would grow up knowing every little thing about each other and being treated as if they were twins, despite a two and a half age difference.
- <br><br>
- By the time she was four, she was in preschool for quite a few months. The moment she started, it was clear she would be a stellar student and great at making friends. She was always first to do things as told, first to befriend someone new, and she even colored INSIDE the lines before anyone else even thought to. So by kindergarten, Delilah was golden and did exceptional. She had a bit of a hard time being away from her sister for the first time for long periods, but otherwise she was fine. She didn't cry. She didn't cling to her mother. Nothing. She went into class and did as she was supposed to. That pattern continued as her school years went on. Infact, they only got better as she aged. By the time she was six and a half, they wanted to put her higher up in the grades. Even said she was reading at a early sixth grade level when going into third grade.
- <br><br>
- Without thought of how it would affect her, or what she might think on the idea.. Nancy placed Delilah into fifth grade instead of fourth. Delilah struggled greatly with the atmosphere and the strictness of her teacher. Struggled more with the older, bigger, kids she was classed with. But her mother never listened to her struggles and just brushed it off as her being dramatic. Gabe however, listened and did his best to help their eldest child through the hard time her mother placed her in. It was during this hard time, that Delilah began struggling with anxiety and depression. She also pulled away from her family and began doing bad in school for the first time in her life. Safe to say, by the end of the year.. Her dad had seen enough and Nancy had zero say in Delilah's next school year. He told the school she'd be moving schools and would be repeating fifth grade. After all, she was too smart to be confined to fourth grade like she would be in her age bracket.
- <br><br>
- With this new academic move, Delilah flourished and soared with her school work. Her home life brightened up as well. She began being a happy child again, enjoying her time and playing instead of just sitting around like she had the year before. Thanks to her dad's thinking and planning, Delilah became a happy and bright child once again. Spending all her free time with her little sister playing or hanging out with her daddy or auntie G. Life was good again. Great even. Which, though it made her mother happy.. It also annoyed her to know it hadn't been her doing. That right there, had been the beginning of the end and no one had even known it yet.
- <br><br>
- By age 10, life was tossed upside down. Nancy told both girls, randomly, that Gabe had died and their daddy wouldn't ever be coming home again. Their grandparents backed this 'story' and soon enough, Delilah had fallen into depression once again. The loss of her dad, along with the disappearance of her auntie G, had thrown her full loop. She kept to her school work, burying herself in it to avoid the sadness. By age 13 however, she had found the party life and other ways to deal with her depression. Some.. Not so good ways of coping came along with that. She began drinking, smoking, and fooling around with guys. Soon enough, within two years, she'd branched out into smoking stronger things than cigs and drinking worse things than beer. She'd also began sleeping with both guys and girls, sometimes both. Delilah isn't exactly proud of this, but she'd had an orgy by age 15 and her first pregnancy scare as well.
- <br><br>
- During this whole horrid crazy time, her mother had moved on and remarried. Allowing the man to adopt both James' girls and change their names to his - Scott. Delilah Madison Scott. It sounded okay. But she wasn't a fan of it. Especially when her 'friends' poked fun at her saying she'd gone and married some random older dude for money and had threesomes with him and her own mother. Gross. The sheer thought made her vomit. "IT'S NOT FUNNY OR TRUE!" She'd always scream in reply, but it never made them stop. Thanks to that, she managed to fall into yet another bad pattern.. She began cutting to deal with the dark thoughts that ruled her mind. All these issues, though they were detected eventually - went ignored by her mother. Which meant it wasn't ever detected by her sister either.
- <br><br>
- High school had been torture because of all of that, but somehow she survived. However, Her mother wouldn't allow her to leave home for college. Claiming she had slumped too much in recent years to be approved for any good out of state colleges. So, Nancy got her wish. Delilah stayed home and went to community college, while working odd jobs to pay for her own car and it's expenses as well as her college ones. Nancy paid for nothing more than the bare minimum, or should we say Nancy's new man since the woman paid for nothing and earned nothing herself? I suppose we should, especially when she forced her own child to pay rent when she was the one forcing her to stay. It was so messed up. The whole damn family, if you could even call it that, was. Her little sister was her saving grace in it all..
- <br><br>
- Until one day, when she wasn't. Randomly at the start of July, Delilah's 18th going on 19th year - Cordelia bid her sister a tearful goodbye and took off. Nothing the elder blonde could say, would change the younger brunettes mind. She was set on leaving this life behind to find a better one, no matter what she had to do to do it.. For once, Cordelia did something Delilah only wished and dreamed she could. She wanted to leave so damn badly, but her mother and stepfather were so far into her troubled mind - she never dared to try. Instead, She buried herself in all her bad habits and slowly waddled through her college work. By the end of year one, D had barely passed. But she went onto year two anyways, hoping and wishing things would get easier - but it never did.
- <br><br>
- By mid-year, Delilah was on a bad spiral that she couldn't tell which way was up and which was down. Her mother didn't care to notice, despite her step-dad flat out telling her too. She just shrugged it off as drama and attention seeking. It wasn't, of course. But no one seemed to notice or care, except for a certain guy she'd hung around a ton and kept friendzoning simply because she didn't want to hurt him. Considering she still slept around a bunch whenever she got drunk and high, it would happen easy and she couldn't do that to him. Thanks to Shawn, Delilah finally did begin getting the help she needed. She also finally moved out of her childhood home, and instead moved in with him and his roommates once she finished in treatment rehab to cleanse herself of all the bad as well as started therapy for all the sh*t in her life. Her mother HATED it, but didn't put up too much of a fight since D was smart and brought all her friends to lessen the crazy that could happen.
- <br><br>
- After getting help a second time, is when things began to finally turn around. Then is also when Delilah reached out to her sister again and began going to visit her from time to time..
- <br><br>
- <h2>WELCOME TO NEW YORK,</h2>
- The first time she visited Cordelia in New York, Delilah feel head over heels for the city. She had always known she was meant for somewhere better than where she had grown up. But she'd never stepped foot in anywhere worth anything to test that thinking. So the moment she did and she learned of how amazing it could be, going home was extremely hard. But eventually she did have to do it, and she did. After that initial time however, Delilah found any and all excuses she could to go back. New York had her heart fully, even more so than anyone or anything ever had before. That alone, had her coming back for more every chance she got.
- <br><br>
- This fact however, was something that pissed her mother off and drained her bank account. As well as Shawn's and anyone else who wished to tag along with them for their little journeys back and forth. So, clearly, it was something that Delilah often fought with Nancy about, as well as Nancy's husband (She had quit referring to him as any sort of father, the moment she learned of how awful he was and all the bad things he'd done through the years - NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT HER REAL DAD WAS ACTUALLY ALIVE TOO, LIKE WTF MAN?!?!) as well.
- <br><br>
- By 23, Delilah had a life in both her hometown and a completely different one in New York. In her hometown, she had the horrid parent's she'd had all along. But also, a good boy friend.. Yes, Two words. They never could fully leave the friendzone, despite her often ending up in his bed and all the lost moments they had in it. And great friends as well. Friends who kept her ass on track and kept her ass going the right way with college so she could graduate with them in 2019 like they all planned to.
- <br><br>
- Beginning of summer, 2019. Right before graduation in fact. Delilah was shocked to discover, that she was indeed pregnant. After all the years of her sleeping around, even sleeping with more than one person at once - never once bothering with condoms - she ended up pregnant when she was actually being careful and only sleeping with Shawn. Go freaking figure. The universe was an odd thing. But after sitting on it by herself a few days, she grew to be okay with the thought. Soon enough, She told her friends and Shawn as well. Best reaction ever, he deserved that trophy. Cause most men, even if they were in a relationship - which they still weren't - usually ran at the idea of being a daddy.
- <br><br>
- All too quickly, Delilah began to look forward to having a child of her own. She was already obsessed with her niece, whom her sister had given birth to a few years back. She didn't get to see her as much as she wished, but she loved her to pieces and spoiled her as best she could from afar. So the idea of possibly having her own little princess, excited her to no end. Quickly, She had nursery ideas and began planning for a future she would never get to experience - with this baby at the very least. Or with this man, considering things would go bad - very bad - very soon.
- <br><br>
- When graduation passed, and somehow she'd survived seeing Nancy and her husband again after staying away for a while.. Delilah fell for her mothers old kindness act and fell right into a trap. A trap Nancy set up to learn about everything going on in Delilah's life, as well as whatever she could get out of her eldest child about her youngest and her life in New York. That ended in a horrible fight when D called out her mother for lying about her fathers death. By the end, she was in solid tears and Shawn had to pull her away from the situation. Before they even got home, he made her promise to never return to the presence of that horrid woman again. Fearing what may happen to Delilah and the baby if she did, considering things had begun to become physical in their argument.
- <br><br>
- Despite her promise, Delilah brought a friend along instead and returned to her childhood home once again. She had a good reason, at least. She was after her childhood toys, as well as what was left of Cordelia's as well. Del was thinking, they could split things up between her growing child and Bella. In her mind, it was a perfect idea and she could easily get in and out without question. However, The moment she showed up - a fight broke out. Though admittedly, it looked like she just entered a fight and it transferred to her instead of it's original target. By the end of the fight, Delilah was at the bottom of the stairs with childrens toys scattered around her body. She was out of it for a few minutes before she came to again, and by then both Nancy and Kevin - were long gone, finally leaving Del and her friend to do their thing and leave.
- <br><br>
- She managed to talk her friend into keeping the outing quiet, thinking nothing bad was really coming of it. But soon enough, just two days later actually, she learned the truth. She'd lost the baby after falling down the stairs, and she'd never sought out help or told anyone else it happened - which caused a big rift between her and Shawn as well as everyone else in their friend group. They all thought she did the wrong thing and this horrid event happened only because of her actions.
- <br><br>
- After all that, Delilah took off to New York. By herself for the first time too. She stayed with Cordelia and spent all her time with Bella, dreaming of the life she could've had with her own child. When that wasn't an option, Delilah ended up in a pool of tears so it wasn't too long before she just started letting Bella sleep with her for a few nights before she would be returning to her old life to figure out her next step. However, in her sleeplessness and Bella's sleepiness an idea came to light.. "Auntie Del.. Stay wif mommy and me." The idea was a perfect one. Why couldn't she do it? She couldn't think of a real reason. Especally now that Cordelia had this thought planted in Delilah's head that she should actually try to get and know their dad again, now that he was well - actually alive and in the same place. "We'll see, princess." She answered before the little ones eyes closed for the night.

- The next day, Delilah went home. She spoke her goodbyes to those she had to, her mother not included in that, packed her necessities and headed back to New York all within just 72 hours. Once she returned, she set up a life of her own with her sister and niece in Queens. Happily fully taking on a job from a friend she'd made ages back as her assistant at Atomic Comics, to get her finances in order again and to be able to pay something while living with her sister. Oh and the silver lining of it all.. She finally began giving her real dad a chance at being her dad again. Mostly thanks to Bella's attachment to him and her both. In time, that goes well and Delilah finally has her dad back in her life.

- As of her birthday, Christmas Eve, 2019 - Delilah became a James once again. Her life had gotten on a good path, full of loving friends both new and old, as well as family - even some family she never knew of before moving to New York. She went from a lone wolf, all alone and a complete mess. To a mostly happy woman, who though still has her issues and her bad days.. Knew she was loved and cared for.

- March, 2020. Delilah had a lapse in her mission to be a better person who partied and got messed up less. She ended up in a bad situation, after someone slipped something in her drink and tried to take advantage of her. That night is when she met Micah. Though, She wouldn't truly meet him and get to know him till the days following. He had saved her from the guy who drugged her and taken her home to his place to sleep it off, since he couldn't get where she lived out of her drugged state of mind.
- <br><br>
- He slept on the couch that night. When he left the next morning, he left her a note filling her in on things. One she read and replied to before she left, leaving her number on the back of the paper so she could actually thank him when her head wasn't killing her. Days past, and their friendship slowly blossomed. In time that friendship, ended up becoming so much more. By April.. They were official. Fast? Maybe. But when you know, you know. And Delilah knows, they're meant to be so much more than friends.
- <br><br>
- Fast forward to the end of May.. Things were good. No, They were beyond great. Until they weren't. Her issues and her mental state, caused her to push and push - until there was no going back. To everyone else, It seems Micah took off and abandoned her. But she knows, it's her own fault. She couldn't let him in as much as she should, no matter how hard she tried. So in the end, he left. Like everyone always does. She's completely heartbroken and having to figure out what to do with herself, moment to moment. But she's surviving. Thanks to her family and amazing as fxck friends.

- the rest of her story, is being written as her life of freedom finally unfolds..
