- Many people have been asking "Why does my set up for the flower glitch strat not work sometimes?". Well I have your answer.
- Think of this trick as like a TAS; people have a set sequence of inputs that they recreate every time they do this trick to attempt to reach Mumbo's Hut. This sequence of inputs starts when Banjo is damaged by the bees. If done correctly, Banjo should enter the loading zone every time, provided the player can correctly execute the movement. If not, there must have been a desync somewhere, leading to the inputs not achieving the expected result.
- The desync in this case depends on when Banjo is hit by the bees. This matters because when the camera shifts from the flower to the softlock camera, the joystick inputs will correspond to the new camera angle. So just doing the same inputs every time will not necessarily work if the camera shifts at a bad time and Banjo's tracking is completely off. Sometimes, changing the camera at the wrong time (according to your set up) does not desync Banjo enough to where you miss the loading zone, because there is some leeway. However, a desync still occurred, because the movement is not exactly replicated as expected.
- In order for any set up to work correctly, you must get damaged by the bees at a certain point in the cutscene, and plan your set up from there. This is very feasible, and everyone that already does the softlock should be able to correct this no problem. For those who want something consistent and crave the timesave, make your own set up. It will prove way more consistent than copying someone else's. Muscle memory is a powerful thing. You can practice this endlessly on a file if you do not collect the jiggy.
