  1. Margot : •••Margot seemed unfazed by the weight of his sudden realization, as it was already something she’d fully considered and set about navigating. Every moment alone with him was somewhat of a risk, to the unknowing voyeur. For Margot, things were a bit different. The kind of trust that came naturally to her wasn’t without good reason. (Though some could argue with her on the definition of ‘reasonable’ in regards to spending any solitary time with a vampire. He set the plate and food before her, and her stomach growled with anticipation--earning a surprised animation from her. Maybe she was hungry, after all. She picked up her fork and pulled apart the meat with it gingerly, watching it fall apart without resistance. Glancing up at him as he sat across from her, her brows rose and she shrugged, legs folding up underneath the table onto the chair with her. A chilly breeze reminded her that she was not wearing pants. “You didn’t make it very difficult, uh…” cue: lack of pants -c

  3. Margot : realization-- she gestured to her own eyes with the fork to detract his attention as she navigated the blankets under the table with clumsy human finesse. “Have you registered yet?” she asked, tilting her head as she bit into a carrot from the end of her fork. Pale green eyes surveyed him with interest, tracing the outlines of his eyes as she considered their lucent glow on the night they’d first met. She ate as they talked, not bothering with proper table etiquette between chewing and speaking-- he’d seen her in worse states, and it further admitted her comfort around him. She smirked as he stumbled through the unintentionally back-handed compliment, nodding a little overly enthusiastically as he continued. “Oh, yeah?” she asked, tongue curling around the back of her teeth as she set her fork on the plate, smug expression ambient in the cozy cabin light. Her expressions challenged his words, egging on his discomfort as he managed to save the conversation. The time when she’d -c

  5. Margot : have the upper hand was dwindling, she knew. Best to enjoy it while she could. “I might not mind as much tomorrow night.” she replied, leaning back into the chair to signal how full she was. “Once I can shake this headache.” she admitted, sipping the sparkling grape juice with complacent resolution. It wasn’t wine, and it was a terrible pretender. Moving her plate out of the way, she leaned forward on the table, elbows propped to either side of her, hands folded around the bottom of her coffee cup-- which she preferred to the juice. “Listen. I know your secret. I guess it would be selfish not to share mine.” she interjected abruptly, forcing it out of herself so that there was no going back. He’d latch onto the sentence, maybe having some kind of inkling that she wasn’t ‘normal’, and wouldn’t let go. She was forcing herself to tell him, no longer wanting it hanging over her head. Margot shifted in her seat so that her legs rested over the arm of her chair, bare from the knee -c

  15. Āıden Aberdene : There was an internal conversation taking place in the vampires mind. Not the kind of the broken mind, mind you. But rather him trying to navigate the inconstant feelings that bubbled up from the depths of his heart, and then seemed to sink back down. Mostly by his own forcing it. However as he sat across from her. He truly appraised her, not for the first time mind you. Aiden had often times considered what it might be like. Coiled with her warm skin in lovers embrace, drinking deep from the well of ecstasy that he knew could be found within Margot's embrace. He might have dared to skim the exposed thigh, but instead his eyes came to her own. His deep brown hues seeming to be searching deeper and deeper with every instant. Finally he had a grasp on himself and with that grasping of straws fluttering chaotically in the metaphorical hurricane that was his hearts darkest desires. " you don't know all my secrets " he spoke now, after moments of long study. Watching her every +

Knowing she had the upper hand when it came to Aiden, and he knew that A mortal, a weak, afflicted Mortal had somehow managed to tame the beast a vampire could be. She never had to worry about him forcing his desire, or addiction upon her. Because to have her hate him, somehow made the pain of the sun's fury bearable. "I've a many more that I'd be willing to share. " He leaned back, and shifted his focus to the flames. But this was her time for sharing, and Aiden's lips upturned into the most overly exaggerated pout there ever existed. " you're about to tell me you're a lesbian aren't you!" He leaned back in mock dismay " That would be my luck! " He said dramatically, before leaning forward to look fully upon her. His hand moving to brush the unruly waves of his dark hair back. " Margot " he finally turned more thoughtful, and slightly serious as his form relaxed into its chair and his eyes turned +

" His hand came to the table gently. " You vex me, in the most extraordinary ways " a pause before he continued " Whatever you're about to tell me, I've an inkling that It's going to change things between us. " There it was, he was finally on the trail of what he wanted. " So before you tell me, before you open THAT door. " He brought his hand forward " let me close one....When we go back to the Skye, or Wherever it is we decide to go from here. " He wanted to touch her hand, and thus he did. 31. Margot : ••• Margot didn’t wilt under his gaze. She also didn’t preen, but remained still as his eyes skimmed the features of her figure and face. The clairvoyant was comfortable in her own skin, and the unwavering trust she had in him bolstered her under the microscope. Pale verdant hues watched his expression as he grasped at his humanity, vacillating between hunger and interest. Her toes curled where they dangled in the air, beneath the only scar her skin featured-- a long, straight viciously earned scar that puckered the flesh over her tibia. It was long-healed, now a shade lighter than her skin. She wore it without any apparent remorse, a lesson learned. With a humored expression, her eyes met his once they made their way back to her face. She watched as he pushed a hand into his hair, noting it as a trademark signal of his mild discomfort, realizing her blase composure had achieved the desired effect. Averting his -c

  33. Margot : dark eyes with practiced deflection, she couldn’t help the grin breaking her expression as he started catastrophizing (for dramatic effect.) Of course, his theatrics were endearing in their own way-- his features were far more expressive when he was comfortable. Given the fact that he was so often serious, the change of pace was oddly charming. He continued before she could get a word in edgewise--which was probably for the best. Because the ‘Only when I’m drunk’, joke might have killed the spirit of what came next-- an entirely unexpected twist. Her composure faltered for a moment, fingers shifting underneath his hand as her shoulders adjusted, compensating for the gentle intake of breath that signaled her surprise. Things had suddenly begun to feel intensely serious, and she was second-guessing sharing her vulnerability with him. Extraordinarily vexing food. And somehow, it was a compliment. Or it felt like one. While he spoke, she turned her hand over so that her palm faced -c

Margot’s eyes dropped when she laughed, an uncharacteristic awkward bubbling sound coming from her with discernible restraint. “Aiden.” she said, eyes lifting to watch him from below her lashes, hand offering a gentle squeeze. “I’m not a lesbian.” she said, taking in a slow and calculated breath afterward. As she exhaled, the first signs of her vulnerability played out. The heavy thudding of her heart increased, anxiety playing at her limbs with gentle tremors that make her feel a bit weak and nauseated. The seer had only ever shared her secret with a few people, and it never played out well. After that, she’d learned to keep it to herself, watching visions of what could happen play out with each person she considered sharing it with. From downright denial to having her committed, she had a bit of PTSD over things that never happened. Clearing her throat and head, she finally managed to offer a half-hearted smile, settling -c

She knew that already, despite the alarm bells and red flags firing off in her mind. “But I -am- a…” her throat tightened a bit, she hadn’t said it out loud in so long, “Clairvoyant.” she managed to say. There. Finally. Her shoulders relaxed a little as she watched his eyes, searching them with a bit of human hope. •••

A blueish-white glow that would light the darkness of the woods. //You don't know where you're going.// *And neither do I for that matter.* A thought the angel wouldn't say aloud. Her ward moved with such purpose, she didn't understand what her rush was. The seraph could sense what was out here, the beasts and the other things... Most of them would give the seraph no trouble but she was not worried about herself. Merlyn had only been here one or two other times, but it was with a different ward, someone else and it was brief. Haschen had to be sent back to Malcolm, there was nothing the angel could do for her emotional state. Fabienne though? She was proving to be quite the project. | "Aye, yes I do Merlyn!" she said. "Sort of." First, she would confirm it by doing this: The shoes were removed from her feet and she stood there perfectly still. This would allow <C>

A few moments of concentration and the half-gallifreyan could pick up the scents around her. "This is an island." she told the angel. Her black and white converse were picked up and she made her way through the woods bare-pawed, her coat billowing behind her. Just by the air, the scent of it and the way he felt against her; and listening to the earth. She knew where she was. "I was wearing a different face back then, but I know where we are!" Keep up Merlyn, Fabi's heading somewhere. :.

He was old, yes but he hadn't grown up much from those days when he'd been a mortal himself. Still impetuous, impulsive, and entirely ignorant to how to navigate the tremulous seas of emotions. But there was a moment when he realized what he'd said moved her in some fashion. That she'd taken that little breath of surprise, and seemed to need to readjust. Her hand as it turned to his own was welcome, and embraced by his own movements curling his fingers about hers. ~Aiden, what are you trying to say?~ he asked himself in those moments of silence. Her assurance she wasn't lesbian being perhaps about the most comforting thing she could have said. Because it would be his luck, falling for a woman who liked other woman. However her next words, caused him to pause in thought, and make that face she likely hated at this point. The one where his emotions drained away and he only +

Thousands of questions came to mind, from wanting to accuse her of playing him, of knowing every move he was about to make, of hiding it from him! Wanting to know why she was even in this moment with him. Knowing full well that he'd watch her grow old, as he'd done for his other mortal companions. Watching her pass on with pieces of his heart to be taken as well! But then as he finished his mental rage fit. He found himself suddenly calm. In his silence he turned his eyes downward and looked for several long moments at the wooden table. Watching the meat left on the plate as it cooled. " So...That day at the shop " he started slowly " You knew I'd be there? " he looked up at her now " Did you know then what I was? " he turned to her " I don't care if you already know what's going to happen, Do you want to live with me?! " He looked as if he released a breath he'd been holding, and he moved toward the table, pushing it aside. Because making her stand at this point was pretty pointless. He came down to his knees before her, and wrapped his arms around her petite form bringing his head to her chest and letting his eyes close. Drifting into a state of calm brought upon by the sound of her heart thundering or not. " So you can see the future, that'll come in handy you know " he said looking up at her. " What I mean to say is, it changes nothing...you can see the future, and I'm Immortal...you've clearly thought this through and still sought me out, which means you know the end of our story and still have some desired to be here. " He smirked some " And it means I never have to tell you how I feel. Because you know and I'm ok with that " His hand came into the length of his hair " I mean, saves me the whole...anticipating rejection part...Because we both know that I'm...ignorant when it comes to you...like a baby trying to walk for the first time, and choosing rollerblades as shoes. 169. Margot : ••• With bated breath, she waited as he processed what she’d said. The tenor of their conversation having swiftly changed, and she was no longer holding the upper hand. Aiden’s playful, somewhat excited demeanor shifted, features vacant of emotion as he threw up a wall. Naturally, it hurt. She expected it, but living it out was an emotional beast all its own. Moments felt like hours, time expanding and strangling her thoughts in limbo. Immediate regret boiled up inside of her, eating her thoughts with destructive vigor. He was quiet for so long that when he did finally speak, his voice felt deafening. He began to question her. Again, anticipated, but terrifying in real time. Nausea began to roil in her stomach as she nodded wordlessly to his string of questions. Her features were an open sheet of honesty, no longer the collected facade that Margot Bixby had maintained for so long. Being human hurt enough, but being human with the foresight to dread the very moment you needed to-c

Just like with the ‘car accident’ a week ago, sometimes her interpretations of things weren’t right. ‘How could you?’ he asked, and her heart hammered in her ears, throat thick with emotion as she retracted her hands into her lap while he withdrew to the window. The warmth at the waterline of her eyes betrayed her, brimming with naive tears. Startling her as he turned to insist on an answer to his question, the sound of the table scraping across the floor as he shoved it aside made her stiffen. The abrupt turn, followed by his intense nature and the command in his voice jarred her out of her withdrawn thoughts. Her hands rose as he knelt in front of her, head pressed to her chest as his arms collected her waist and pulled her close. 189. Mєяlγη : .: Sometimes, Merlyn questioned who was in charge in this odd little relationship between her and the little rabbit. It was an endearing nickname, little rabbit, even though the girl with two hearts wasn't truly one of those little creatures. There was a moment where the seraph took pause, her head turning as though she heard something behind her. For only a moment she would look through the trees before returning her attention to the odd girl a few feet in front of her. Merlyn was odd for an angel, even among her own kind, they thought her to be peculiar. For someone of her rank in heaven, she should have been leading a garrison in the war against hell. Not that she didn't at some point of her life, her other role often got in the way of those duties. Lyn had a habit of coming to the aid of any who call upon her and this was where it caused some issues performing her past duties. Lyn rebelling wasn't entirely intentional <C>

My legs are longer than yours, get back in the bag and I can get us there.// *Anything to get the girl out of the woods* Sure, Fabi wasn't human, but she was still less durable than Merlyn. Even if the odd little creature was more durable than a human. Oddly enough, their physiology might be similar in some ways. Except Merlyn has grace instead of... whatever Fabi's regeneration energy is called. Without the grace? Merlyn is human. It wasn't hard to catch up with her ward, soon she was jogging at her side, looking down at her. //Yes, I got that impression when we landed.// *that this is an island.* Purple eyes studying Fabi a moment before looking ahead of her, at this point she might as well stop making the suggestions, she can't interfere with free will after all. That was still a rule she couldn't break, she can't make anyone mortal or otherwise do anything they don't <C>

In that moment it actually looked like Fabienne might consider Lyn's suggestion, but then she shook her head and spoke. A big smile tugging at the corners of her maw "Hah! A two day walk? That's just fine." Of course Fabi would take a moment to put those shoes back on, she did this for two reasons: The fur on the soles of her feet wasn't thick enough to protect her from objects she might step on or in, and two, no pawpads! So for now she'd have to suffer through tight fit of these shoes for the next couple days, that is if she doesn't cave to Merlyn's suggestion. "It'll be fine, besides you can scare most things off right?" a grin. As long as the seraph was there, she showed little fear, but this doesn't mean she isn't paying attention. The danger intuition is always active, more so when Lyn is near by. :.

Āıden Aberdene : "But you knew I would " He said in response to her quip, Their heat from her form radiated through the confines of her blanket shawl, which had by no purposeful attempt on his part come open just enough for his realization that she'd been near bare beneath her shirt for the entirety of the moment. Aiden's hands drew from the blades of her shoulders, to the small of her back and along her hips as he contemplated the next few moments. Her head reeled, feeling light and tipsy. “It’s…” she started, distracted by the cool pad of his index finger as it trailed the ridge of each of her lower ribs, “…been a long twenty-seven years.” she managed, finally as her pulse fluttered. Would he ever understand the kind of patience it took to wait for him to be ready for her? Waking each day with a longing for this exact moment, and living with the disappointment that each day until then would continue to be dull and unfulfilling? She’d lived her life in reverse, just waiting. Mourning before they’d even begun, pining for the comfort of his embrace. When he smiled, she felt her knees weaken. It was akin to being punched in the stomach at the same time as feeling your heart swell against your ribcage. The ache she felt when he touched her and smiled like that could have never been anticipated, not after ‘seeing’ it ahead of time, thousands of times. When he leaned in, lips hovering past her clavicles and throat to her ear, she felt her heart skip a beat. Closing her eyes as he spoke, a sigh of relief escaped her when she smiled. Tears prickled her eyes, cheeks flushed. God, why was it so hard to respond? Her body was putty in his capable hands, rational mind slipping away gradually as his cool hands traced the conviction right out of her. Was he…doing that…weird vampire thing? Was that a thing? 245. Āıden Aberdene : No one said being undead forced you to grow up. If anything he would always be the same man who grew up playing pranks on his family, or spending his evenings in good spirited laughter and drinks with his friends. Aiden hadn't changed that much in a long time. It was rare to see this side of him. This was true, it was locked beneath layers of self control, self construction, and of course by needing to be a monster. He was after all never going to not be a vampire. There was no cure, nor would he take it if it was offered. Or maybe he would, he knew that he would watch her grow old, he knew that he would hold her hand through out those long years, and he would never leave her side. He saw their future as it was, one day he would be holding her in his arms as she exhaled the last breath of life from her chest. He knew that there would be no Nicholas Sparks moment where he would pass away alongside her. Later, when he and if he allowed himself to be alone. He would steel +

Margot could see the future, and she had ultimately chosen this life for herself, and Aiden in his heart promised to make her every year worth it. Because surely she knew that he would never change her, that he couldn't bring her into this life that he lived. How could anyone wish the Darkness of undeath upon someone they loved? But her laugh was a melody, and even though she recoiled from him in that moment. He knew she didn't see the monster. Human's were genuine with their affections, and their actions. Vampires well they did try to emulate life, or so he had always thought. Spending so much time trying to appear alive, made it impossible to be. Yet Eva had discovered the secret, and so had others. " I don't mind losing to you. " His words were soft, tender, and filled with absolutely no use of vampiric disciplines. The end of that, was so long as I never lose you. Later Aiden would reflect on this moment, like he always did. That need to analyze every moment of his undead life. Picking it apart and realizing just how irrational he was acting, where he might even berate himself silently for falling into this, for knowingly committing himself to the eventual loss he would experience. 277. Margot : ••• “…Yes, a royal pain in the ass, your Highness.” she quipped back at him without missing a beat. Aiden couldn’t have known (and had asked not to know,) that she would never ask him to embrace her. Death was marching solidly in her direction, in less time than he imagined. While rose-tinted visions of loving her into her grey old age played like a reel of film-noir in his head, the colorful reality of her death was a very prominently featured part of her visions. Their time together would be brief, but everything that would come to pass between the present and the future would be worth its brevity. Margot had learned not to try to change the inevitable staples of her life the hard way, with repeated failure, emotional, and physical pain. Death would come for her, whether or not Aiden was there. But he hadn’t been ready until now-- and so she’d have to accept the terms and take what time she could get. Up until now, she’d convinced herself that she would be alright with what -c

But living each moment with him was far more intoxicating than getting to ‘know’ him by way of clairvoyance. In the simulations where he embraced her (which were never pleasant for either of them), she could no longer see beyond that moment. She was convinced that it meant her death-- which she could also not see beyond. Everything stopped at some point. Margot simply assumed that her time was running out, and nothing was going to come between she and the reaper. And she wouldn’t leave Aiden to carry that for the rest of eternity. Accidental or not-- he -would- be the death of her. It was best to prevent the possibility that he was at fault. And all she needed to do was ask him -not- to embrace her--- which she knew without a single doubt that he would respect with the most stern authority. Regardless of their distance from intimacy (both remained hesitant for good reason…or otherwise distracted by untimely phonecalls and the like) it was resolutely true.
