The Life and Death of John Fuklaw Review

>I personally like this story because:

It's fine, I guess. I don't dislike it, really. I guess adding some characterization to Fuklaw is fine. The action is mediocre, though not the highlight nor the focus of the story by any means, so it's fine.

It adds some history to Fuklaw, has good dialogue, the Angry Marines are pretty funny.

So many flashbacks/memories/etc. just kind of dumped all around the story. It's paced fine, which is very impressive, but I believe a more linear format would have been beneficial towards the overall quality of the product.

>The characters of this story are good because:

Hard to go wrong with Fuklaw. Raege is okay. There really aren't any other primary characters, except Tharian, but he's almost a non-character. Only exists to give Fuklaw a named antagonist and something to go back to his homeworld for.

>The plot of this story is okay because:

It's not too cheesy, and while predictable, it develops Fuklaw in a believable manner, rather than something dumb like having him in a love story or something.

>The sex scenes in this story are good/bad because:

N/A (and thank god for that)

>I would like to see more/less of:

Nothing, since it's a complete story.

>I like the author's writing style because:

His focus on dialogue is alright, though I think his Raege and Fuklaw stuff is a tad too corny. The relative lack of detail actually works for this story, it keeps things moving at a decent pace despite the oodles of exposition and flashbacks that take place.

>I would personally rate the story, from 1 (unreadable) to 5 (incredible):

3, gets the job done but isn't particularly notable by my standards. Good for what it is. Doesn't shit the bed or jump the shark. Acceptable.
