So you want to use totem pokemon in USUM.

Basics
Gifts given for collecting totem stickers found all around alola - for a guide to this check link in description!
Mons available:
US: Gumshoos, A-Marowak, Lurantis, Vikavolt, Ribombee
UM: A-Raticate, Araquanid, Salazzle, Togedemaru, Kommo-o
Mimikyu in both
Aesthetic changes only, no stats, no stat boosts ???weight???


Because gifts, you can 100% guarantee the nature if you use a Pokemon with Synchronize, I bred a ton of Abras with different natures to do this. (usually only 50% with wild pokemon but gift pokemon work differently)
Guaranteed 3IVs too which is great, and means you could even SR for 5 IV

Unfortunately shiny locked

???Cannot breed totem-ness???

No egg moves, abilities pre-determined.

So let's consider which ones are worth your time and can be used competitively, and which ones are just trash!

Trash
A-Raticate - Thick Fat!!!
Lurantis - No Contrary
Togedemaru - No Encore or Fake Out which are crucial for VGC viability

Meh
Gumshoos - just not a great mon, though can still have its best sets with totem Adaptability
Ribombee - no Moonblast, misses out on Sticky Web too but is a decent pokemon anyway
Vikavolt - goodish mons just not great
Salazzle -

Good!
A-Marowak - Rock Head which is good for Flare Blitz, does not really miss egg moves at all, get a Thick Club and have fun!
Araquanid - Has Water Bubble which is fantastic, only misses out on Sticky Web now, but as an offensive Pokemon is excellent
Kommo-o - only has 3 egg moves anyway. Has HA which is OK - stops hail / sand damagae and powder moves like spore/sleep powder. But has so much more potential now with its signature Z and CC as well as good tutors!
