+Seiko is a shugenja of the Tamori family, a bloodline rich with magical power and esoteric knowledge. Seiko's line in particular is trusted with certain knowledge of dark magics the clan finds useful to have on hand, but in general this burden has had little effect on her. Curiously, she's instead been assigned to a courtier's entourage at the behest of higher-ups in the clan. Whether this is intended as a preventative measure, or if clan elders have foreseen complications for their courtly efforts, only time will tell.
